Just as Gojo was about to flare up again, Naoya spoke lazily over his shoulder.
"Still, Gojo-kun, there wasn't a word of falsehood in what I said. Your attachment to your friend has earned my trust. And I do, in fact, have something for which I ought to apologize."
"What do you mean?"
"There are circumstances on my side as well—things I don't want others to know. So I've changed my mind, for the time being."
Looking at the shock on Gojo's face, the transmigrator only gave a casual wave as he continued walking away.
"Until I have your consent, Suguru Geto's body will be stored in the Zen'in clan's taboo vault. No one will desecrate it. That should be enough to show my sincerity, shouldn't it?"
"Hey! What exactly are you trying to do—"
"The answer to that," Naoya said without turning back, "can wait until next time. Somewhere far from this trash. The two of us, beneath the cherry blossoms on a mountain at night, drinking sake and laughing freely—then we'll talk."
Gojo Satoru stared after Naoya Zen'in's departing back, his confusion now completely out of control.
