Adeline woke up the next morning feeling an undeniable soreness throughout her body. Slowly opening her eyes, the vivid memories of the previous night rushed back.
They had marked each other, and after that, the passion had taken over, pulling her into an intense rhythm she hadn't anticipated.
She sat up slowly, rubbing the remaining sleep from her eyes. Looking down, she noticed she was now wearing a clean, white satin dress. "Did he—" She paused as the door pushed open and Gideon walked in.
"Adeline!" A genuine smile graced his lips. "How do you feel?" He moved closer and sat on the edge of the bed. "Last night... I was rough, wasn't I?" He gently brushed a few stray strands of hair away from her shoulder to look at the mark of their mating. "A bruise has left a shadow, but it will soon disappear."
"I do feel a bit sore down there," Adeline whispered, looking up to meet his gaze. "But... I liked my first time with you."
