Roughly 2 days ago. January 4, 2 AM.
Somewhere far away from Europe, in the subcontinent of India, Mumbai.
"My life has become so disastrous…"
Ashnir muttered to himself, walking along the quiet coastal line of marine drives, in the middle of the night. He had a glove on one of his hands and a mask covering the entirety of his face but the eyes.
"I should've rather become a model."
Sighhh
Ashnir thought to himself, as he sat down on nearby tetrapods.
He was tall, slightly more than the average. His eyes were the colour of brown shade, with hair flowing down to his shoulders, he was frantically majestic. He looked better than most, until the unfortunate day, when he burned half of his face.
"So… Is this magic any good?" Ashnir thought to himself. "Maybe I should give it a try now that I am all alone"
Ashnir took out the glove he was wearing on his right hand and made a focused point with his fingers towards the sky, generating a concentrated ray of fire upwards. A little unstable, but powerful enough to light up the sky.
"Scary…"
Ashnir muttered to himself, astonished by the power he wielded.
"Wait… If I can do this…" Ashnir's eyes widened with sudden realization. "Can I also free this world of corruption…?"
Clap clap clap
Just as Ashnir was thinking of doing something with his powers for the betterment of the world, he heard a sound of clapping out of the blue, coming from his left side.
A man, no more than 5'6, wearing a black mask and cape approached Ashnir on the pathway.
"Hey Ashnir, what are you doing here?"
He said, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"How does he know my name?!" Ashnir stood up right away. "Do i know him?"
"Sorry little man, but I am unaware of who you are, may you state your name?"
Ashnir said, slowly removing his hand from his shoulders, cautious of any unknown movements.
"I know you are struggling with life."
The unknown person said, his gaze locked onto Ashnir.
"You want to destroy every corrupt high profile, don't you? "
"What?"
Ashnir was left startled by his words.
"Come with me… We shall destroy everything."
The unknown person said to Ashnir, staring directly into his eyes. He smiled vigorously as he saw the brown shade of Ashnir's eyes turn somewhat grey.
The past faded, returning to the present.
January 7, 10 AM.
The night passed and morning descended upon Adrien as he lied on the hospital bed, side by side with Clara, while Noir stood beside him.
"That wasn't something normal at all..."
Adrien said with a creaky voice, looking at Noir.
"I told you already..." Noir said, looking out of the window. "The world is not normal anymore."
"If so many people have gained supernatural powers, then the world is sure to take a big hit sooner or later."
Noir added right after, locking his gaze onto Adrien's eyes, as if telling him to prepare.
"Yeah..." Adrien nodded, breaking eye contact. "But I need to tell you something."
"What is it?"
Noir stepped in closer to Adrien.
"After I gained superhuman strength, I was on equal terms with him..." Adrien said, sitting up while holding the bed rails. "But shortly after, I was falling back again…"
"I was about to be defeated." He placed his right hand on the chest as he spoke further on. "But then I felt a new power surge through me."
"What kind...?"
Noir asked curiously of him.
"A power..." Adrien paused slightly, "Which was letting me choose an outcome of my own."
"Are you implying… That there's a second awakening?!"
Noir got up from the bed, his stance froze in complete shock.
"Yes." Adrien nodded. "That's what I mean to say."
"That is absurd..."
Noir muttered to himself.
"But why have I not gotten the second awakening? I was on the brink of death too back then."
He asked Adrien in confusion of how the second awakening works.
"I don't know..." Adrien smirked faintly. "Maybe you lack the strength, hah!"
"Poking me on your death bed shouldn't be in your best interests, Adrien."
Noir let out a chuckle and grabbed on Adrien's injured arm, which was almost healed already.
"I also developed superhuman strength, you know?" Adrien said sarcastically, "That's not gonna hurt me."
"Yeah..." Noir exhaled, letting go of his hand. "You are right... This is pretty depressing…"
"We have to prepare for the new normal then."
Noir said, smiling nervously, unaware of the future that was to befall upon his world.
