Chapter 288 - North Sea Legion

Bonus Chapter. Enjoy!

============================

The Evil Soul Masters had all been dealt with; an attack that should have resulted in a bloodbath was dissipated into nothingness under the thunderous methods of the two Limit Douluos.

After the initial panic, the train staff and the few Spirit Masters on board acted quickly, going from carriage to carriage to comfort the frightened passengers and checking if anyone had been injured in the explosion.

Fortunately, Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming acted in time; apart from a few passengers suffering some bruises and scrapes when the train made an emergency stop, there were no casualties.

The passengers' emotions gradually stabilized, and the relief of having survived the ordeal replaced the panic from moments ago.

However, after this battle, Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming's identities could no longer be kept hidden. The passengers naturally realized that it was these two peerless powerhouses standing at the Peak of the continent who had saved everyone, and for a time, sounds of gratitude could be heard everywhere around them.

About half an hour later, Huo Yuhao suddenly looked up toward the southern horizon.

A moment later, several moving black dots appeared in the distant clouds; the black dots rapidly enlarged, and their outlines soon became visible.

They were two Black-grade mechas and five Purple-grade mechas, the thrusters behind the mechas emitting blue Spirit Power exhaust flames, carving trails through the sky.

And flying at the very front of this mecha squad was a much smaller figure, but Huo Yuhao saw at a glance that it was a Battle Armor Master, and he was wearing a Three-Word Battle Armor!

After the news of the soul guidance train being attacked was transmitted through emergency communication channels, Wanning City, the closest city to the incident, responded immediately.

The leading Three-Word Battle Armor Master descended straight from the sky, landing steadily in front of Yun Ming and Leng Yaozhu, then immediately deactivated his Battle Armor.

The flowing light patterns receded like a tide, revealing a square, resolute middle-aged face.

He bowed slightly, gave a standard military salute to Yun Ming and Leng Yaozhu, and said in a loud and respectful voice: "Wanning City Defense Legion Commander Zhao Jin, greets the two Your Excellencies."

Although the federal military and political System was not the same System as the Spirit Pagoda and Shrek Academy, when facing these two Limit Douluos who shook the continent, one naturally had to show the proper respect.

Yun Ming did not waste words and stated the situation from just now concisely.

After speaking, he pointed his hand at the human stick still groaning in a low voice on the ground not far away: "That person should be the mastermind of this attack; he is a Spirit Douluo, his limbs have been crippled, I leave him to you."

Zhao Jin looked in the direction Yun Ming was pointing at the bloody "humanoid object" on the ground, and the corner of his eye twitched involuntarily.

He quickly withdrew his gaze and bowed and cupped his fists again: "Your Excellencies, rest assured, we will handle this person, and the Federation will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly."

Yun Ming watched as Zhao Jin took Yan Jin away, then withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Leng Yaozhu beside him: "Let's not take the soul guidance train; let's just fly them there directly."

Leng Yaozhu thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. The tracks had been blown up like that; emergency repairs would take at least half a day. Plus, with accident investigations, personnel evacuation, and schedule adjustments, who knew how long it would be before they could board another train that could go to Beihai City.

Since they had the ability, they might as well just fly there.

Bringing a few juniors along was nothing more than a simple matter for the two Limit Douluos.

Not far away, Huo Yuhao and the others were gathered together chatting.

Xu Xiaoyan counted on her fingers, looking helpless: "I specifically checked, the accident rate for soul guidance trains on the continent is actually very low; there are only a few a year, but why do we always run into them? How many times has this been now?"

Xie Xie rested his hands behind his head and replied with a smile: "It really is, especially when we go out together; it's never peaceful, I'm almost used to it."

Tang Wulin, however, seemed not to take it to heart and joked: "Then it seems we will have to be a little more careful when taking soul guidance trains in the future."

Huo Yuhao had been standing to the side listening quietly, but at this moment he reminded them: "I think what we should be careful of isn't the soul guidance train, but the Evil Soul Masters. Think about it carefully; the few accidents we've encountered, whether it was an attack, kidnapping, or explosion, all had the hand of Evil Soul Masters behind them."

Upon hearing this, everyone felt a shiver in their hearts; Huo Yuhao was right, they had never encountered a normal train accident, and every time it was Evil Soul Masters stirring up trouble.

Just then, Leng Yaozhu's voice suddenly came from not far away, interrupting the group's discussion: "Come over here, everyone."

Huo Yuhao and the others quickly stood up from the ground and walked quickly to the side of Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming.

Leng Yaozhu did not waste words either, and said straightforwardly: "Don't resist; I'm taking you all there directly."

As soon as she finished speaking, the Spirit Power on Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming erupted simultaneously.

However, there was no pressure from a Limit Douluo; the two vast, ocean-like forces of Spirit Power were precisely restrained by the two Limit Douluos the moment they were released, wrapping the six teenagers securely within them.

Leng Yaozhu's Spirit Power wrapped around Gu Yue and Huo Yuhao, while Yun Ming's Spirit Power wrapped around Na'er, Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan.

Subsequently, Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming ascended into the air simultaneously; under the agitation of their Spirit Power, the two balls of light carried the six teenagers up from the ground, transforming into two meteor-like streaks of light, speeding away toward the northeast.

Huo Yuhao was wrapped in that warm, crimson Spirit Power, feeling as if he were in an invisible cocoon; it was completely quiet all around, and he couldn't hear the slightest sound of wind rushing past.

He looked down, and the mountains and rivers beneath his feet were receding backward at a dizzying speed.

This speed was more than two or three times faster than the soul guidance train; at this rate, it wouldn't take long to arrive at Beihai City.

...

Beihai City was not a large city; it was just a quiet little coastal town. Most of the residents in the city made a living by fishing, and the pace of life was slow and peaceful.

Yet, in such an inconspicuous little city, a large legion famous throughout the entire Federation was stationed on its coast—the North Sea Legion.

This was the premier military force in the northeastern region of the Federation and was also one of the eight great legions of the Federation.

For such a behemoth to be stationed in Beihai City, to say it was just to defend against Spirit Beasts of the sea would be somewhat overkill.

What was worth pondering was that the North Sea Legion was founded 1,600 years ago, and Devil Island also appeared in the North Sea waters at that very same point in time.

The timeline overlap between the two was too precise, making it hard to believe that this was merely a coincidence.

As the number one academy on the continent, Shrek Academy had cultivated Students who were spread across the world over its 20,000-year history, and its network of relationships could be said to have penetrated into every corner of the Federation.

In the military, political, and business circles, Shrek's presence was everywhere; they looked out for one another and supported each other, forming an invisible giant web.

However, in this North Sea Legion, one couldn't even find a single graduate of Shrek Academy. The vast majority of the officers and soldiers in the legion were graduates of the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Master Academy.

The predecessor of the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Master Academy was the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy of the Sun Moon Empire from Ten Thousand Years ago. That earth-shattering explosion back then had almost razed the entire academy to the ground, and the losses were so heavy that its Legacy was almost severed.

And after the incident, multiple factions investigated repeatedly, and all fingers pointed to Shrek Academy.

Although Shrek had never publicly admitted any connection to this matter, this blood feud had been remembered by the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Master Academy generation after generation.

Even though Ten Thousand Years had passed, the hostility between the two academies had never truly dissipated, and the infighting within the Federation had never ceased.

The upper echelons of the Federation were well aware of this; they stationed the North Sea Legion in Beihai City and deliberately allowed this legion to be controlled by people from the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Master Academy. The true purpose was self-evident: it was to blockade Devil Island.

Shrek Academy controlled Devil Island, and the Federation could not intervene, so they could only resort to some methods on the periphery.

This matter was tacitly understood in certain meetings of the Federation's upper echelons, but no one had ever brought it to the table to point it out.

At this moment, the North Sea Legion monitoring center.

The large monitoring room was brightly lit, and dozens of soul guidance screens were neatly arranged on the walls, displaying various data on the airspace and sea areas around Beihai City in real-time.

Several duty officers sat in front of the console, their eyes scanning the data streams on the screens back and forth, occasionally picking up the teacups at their side to take a sip.

The sea was calm today, and other than a few sea Spirit Beasts that had strayed into the nearshore waters, there was nothing unusual on the radar; it was another peaceful day.

Suddenly, a soldier monitoring the radar changed color abruptly.

He lunged toward the screen, his pupils contracting violently, and then shouted in a hasty and sharp voice: "High-energy reaction detected! Level nine energy level! The speed is extremely fast, and it is approaching at high speed!"

The originally lazy atmosphere in the monitoring room was completely shattered by this shout, and the eyes of all the duty personnel turned in unison to the main monitoring screen.

On the screen, two glaring red dots were changing positions at a staggering speed, and every flicker crossed a distance of several kilometers.

A second lieutenant in the monitoring room stood up abruptly, his hands pressed against the console, staring fixedly at the moving direction of those two red dots, the expression on his face becoming increasingly grave.

These two high-speed moving unknown targets showed no signs of slowing down, and the direction they were flying in was none other than Beihai City.
