The knights all looked up at me in unison, still on their knees. I felt pretty embarrassed to be in front of them since their order had been named after me, and I certainly hadn’t expected them to pledge their allegiance to me. I thought Ronya’s words would have been a gross over-exaggeration, but she was actually telling the truth.
The knights, who were known for being unruly and difficult, all looked so gentle in front of me. Of all the eyes that were directed toward me, there was not a single look of defiance to be found, just pure happiness paired with a little bit of curiosity. All of the bulky knights were full of genuine joy upon finding out that I had returned.
‘What did Zahid do to make them devote themselves so blindly, even to someone like me? What do I mean to him…? Are the knights that would give their lives for Zahid going to be just as obedient with me?’
I couldn’t help but wonder.
