Chapter 19 - The Other Side of the Coin

I date him, " Janella said while pouring more wine.

"Sorry, Lea... I had to do this... I'm so sorry."

FLASHBACK

That same night in the Alderbury estate, Eleanor was going through the security and was trying to crack the code. Stacey was done taking the shower and was changing her clothes. Stacey saw Janella's reflection on the mirror and screams, Janella had no choice but to hit her head with her vase to get her unconscious. She throws Stacey out the bathroom window into Theodore's arm, and Megan helps her get the another deadbody. She swapped the dress and saw a detective ID, 'Eleanor Williams'

Janella takes the ID and escaped, she looks at the ID in the car and thinks, 'completed two jobs at once.' And she got down by the warehouse, and she had to wait 3 hours blindfolded for the Handler.

The Handler entered and asked, "Did you get the ID i asked for?" And Janella nodded before saying, "I did exactly what you ordered me to do."

"I expect loyalty from you. I believe you aren't betraying me, working with a third party."

"I could never do that!" Janella's voice raised a bit.

"LOWER YOUR VOICE. Ahm. I mean. Lower your voice."

Janella felt the ego in Handler's voice.

"Why did you ask me to bring this ID."

"Because I know... I know Eleanor will absolutely leave evidence." The Handler slammed his hand on the table, "And she won't get freedom that easily. Actually, you know what? Nobody actually has the thing called 'Freedom' in this world. It is a luxury that nobody will ever get. Now leave the ID on the table and leave. I need to make some fixes."

PRESENT

Janella passed out from the intoxication, Eleanor was standing by the door, her eyes were empty, the room was cold, and the suspicion she was trying to ignore had been confirmed. Janella, the only person Eleanor trusted, eventually betrayed her and wanted to frame her.

RING RING

her phone rings up, an unknown number.

Eleanor picked up the call and said, "Hello?"

The person on the other end says, "This voice of betrayal, I love this... look Eleanor, you've got another betrayal of your life. Another lesson of your life."

"Were you—"

The voice cuts off before she could finish the sentence, "Don't forget who the boss is. I have my ways to get information. Tomorrow. At 11:13 PM. With Janella. I'll send you the new location of the meeting spot."

Eleanor swallows and takes a deep breath before saying, "Handler... Listen to me. You aren't planning something stupid, are you?"

"You're being too emotional. Is it because of the detective or the Alderbury? Eleanor, don't forget who you are. And certainly do not forget the rule number 1—"

"I'm not!" Eleanor shouts.

"Now you're talking back, Eleanor? How sweet. I love this audacity of yours. This is attractive. But... Being attractive is also a sin, Eleanor... It gets you at risk. But it's okay, Eleanor. You can protect yourself." And lets out a low psychotic laugh, "Let's meet tomorrow then." And the Handler cuts the phone before Eleanor could say anything.

Eleanor drops her phone and walks towards the chair nearby and takes a seat, the house is colder and suffocating, heer hand rests on her forehead, wiping off the sweat, her heart is hammering against her chest, she inhales, then exhales, then inhales again, she can feel the anxiety building inside of her. She can hear Janella snoring softly and she replays all of her moments in her mind, she pours herself a glass of water and after drinking it, she says,

"He is planning to—"
