Prologue
Clawing desperately at my shoulder I screamed out into nothing. Or was it something? My shoulder was still there. Should it be? Why? Why am I so confused? Am I in control again? Did I curse myself?
The void around me held me still. Did it? I saw buildings, trees, planets then nothing and everything? Where am I? Did I die? But was that me or was that someone pretending to be me? I saw something coming into view, it was a giant sphere. I really didn't know how big it was. Was it bigger than a star, the earth, a meteor? I'd never been in space before. Would I go to space if I'd grown older?
The sphere looked odd besides looking perfectly flat. It had a pattern of squiggly shapes that never touched. I pulled back not wanting to fall into it. When I did I moved. My body shifted, or the sphere shifted. Turning the sphere had another smaller sphere hanging on the side. It was like the other. Entirely white, but had a wavey weaved pattern like straw. The patterns laid on top of the sphere, not being wrapped around it but just on top of it.
I turned my head, I saw in the distance another sphere, it was white also. The pattern laid on it was of squares perfectly separated by the distance of a square. Then there was a grey square not in the middle white but halfway in the corner of the black main squares and smaller.
Turning back, my body began to be dragged in once more, this time into the straw sphere. I let it happen. Falling deeper and deeper. What I thought was a planet got bigger. Once I could only see it I wasn't even near it. I don't know how long I drifted in, but eventually I tried to push in…
