Chapter 6: Adam suspicion
After the silent night, during which Adam spent his time reading various books and preparing plans for the future, he still kept his promise to Elara and stayed with her until morning despite his busy schedule. As for the reason behind his behavior, it was simply that he found no reason to refuse her small requests.
Even though he had not slept all night, there was no sign of fatigue or exhaustion that one would normally expect. But upon reflection, it was only natural. As a mythical being, he no longer had the same needs as humans, sleeping and eating were unnecessary to him. He neither ate nor slept… at least until last night, when he ate for the first time in five years, having long forgotten the taste of food.
"For today, her schedule will be a more thorough tour of the church and a discovery of the planet," Adam thought as he planned Elara's upcoming days. "She should also attend the religious school to make friends and begin forming her own circle for the future," he continued, lost in thought as he looked at his daughter lying in bed, her eyes closed in deep sleep. A faint smile rested at the corner of her lips.
As the morning light fell gently on her sleeping face, Elara finally woke up after about ten minutes. As she sat up and stretched her limbs, still heavy with sleep, she looked around as if searching for something. Her gaze eventually landed on her father's face, still carrying that same gentle smile and the warmth that constantly radiated from him.
"Papa!" Elara exclaimed with joy and happiness, realizing that the events of yesterday had not been a dream but reality, that her father was truly there.
She immediately ran toward him and jumped into his arms. Adam caught her and gently patted her head with a soft motion, still smiling.
"Be careful, you might hurt yourself," Adam advised as he gently stroked her violet hair, just like her mother's. After letting her rest briefly against him, he lowered her and told her to go wash up before having breakfast with one of the sisters.
Hearing this, Elara wanted to spend the day with him, but Adam suggested she go with the sister instead, as he was busy and could not play with her today.
After some reluctance, Elara followed his words. She understood, it was the same with her mother, who was always busy and rarely had time to play with her. Shortly after, a nun arrived following Adam's earlier instructions, and Elara left the room.
Now alone, Adam stood up, dressed in his black priest robe, his pale skin and jet-black hair with golden roots standing out clearly.
In the next instant, he disappeared from space and reappeared in a strange realm that seemed to overlap with the physical world. The colors of this place were peculiar, resembling pastel tones and childish scribbles. This special place had a name: the Spirit World, a realm where the past, present, and future held no distinction, nor did direction.
More importantly, this place should not belong to this universe.
As Adam walked calmly, guided by his spirituality, he arrived at what seemed to be an abandoned place, a research facility. Moving deeper into it, he eventually reached its core.
The Chaos Sea, his place of origin.
The Chaos Sea stretched endlessly, an ocean containing what seemed to be every possible color. It was a corrupted place where none could enter. It was one of the Sefirot, like Klein's Sefirah Castle above the Spirit World, except that the Chaos Sea was the only one that bordered both reality and illusion, the only Sefirah whose entrance existed in the physical world.
However, it was not the Sefirah itself that had drawn Adam here. Even before Elara's arrival, he had felt the Sea stirring slightly, prompting him to investigate what had happened.
As he moved forward, he noticed a slate lying on the ground.
At the sight of it, Adam already had an idea of what it might be, but he approached it slowly, without haste. When he bent down and picked it up, his suspicions were confirmed.
The Blasphemy Slate, more precisely, the first one.
Seeing it, Adam could not help but think:
"When I first awakened, I spent time searching for it. After finding nothing, I assumed that since this was another world, perhaps it simply did not exist… and yet, here it is. In Chernobyl."
It had been five years since he awakened in this world. At first, he thought he was alone. But the Chaos Sea, Chernobyl, the place where he awakened, the Spirit World… all of them existed. And now, the first Blasphemy Slate as well.
Adam could not understand the secrets behind his reincarnation, nor why things that should not exist here had appeared.
"Why was I reincarnated?" Adam asked himself, not expecting an answer in the empty room.
"Am I part of "His" resurrection plan?" he continued in his thoughts.
Yet there was neither fear nor anxiety in that possibility, that he might merely be part of the resurrection plan of a Pillar of the Universe. After all, he knew the future that awaited him if that were true: the only possible end would be death.
"What should I do?" he continued with his rhetorical questions.
He considered stopping the gathering of the Uniquenesses, but the next moment, he remembered one of the fundamental laws of the world of Lord of the Mysteries: the Law of Attraction. Even if he did nothing, he would inevitably come to the Uniquenesses .
And just as described in the original work, he instinctively understood its language, even though he had never learned it.
Silence filled the space as Adam stood there, staring at the Blasphemy Slate.
