Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Match Day

Chapter 88: Match Day

The morning of the away match dawned with a quiet intensity that filled the hotel suite.

Alex Rivera woke up slowly in the main bedroom, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. The king-sized bed felt large and private, but his mind was already on the pitch. Today was the day — his first start in the first team. The coach's surprise announcement still echoed in his head. He was starting from the first whistle. No bench. No waiting. He would be on the field from minute one, wearing number 33, in front of a full away crowd.

The league table reminder was heavy in his mind. Galaxy were in 6th place in the Western Conference — just one single point above the playoff cut-off line. The team below them still had a game in hand. They were barely surviving, fighting week after week to stay in the playoffs. A loss today would drop them into the danger zone. A draw would keep them alive. A win would give them breathing room and send a message. Alex felt the pressure, but it only fueled his determination.

He sat up and looked around the suite. Sophia was already awake in the living area, quietly making coffee. She was wearing a simple robe that clung to her curvaceous milfy body, the fabric loose enough to show the deep valley between her full breasts when she moved. She turned and smiled at him, her eyes warm but with that same spark of attraction from the previous night.

"Good morning," she said softly, handing him a cup of coffee. "Big day today. Your first start. Mateo is still asleep, but he's so excited. He keeps saying his hero is starting the game."

Alex took the coffee and stood up, still in his boxers. He walked over to her, the memory of last night's long, slow kisses and her skilled blowjob still fresh in his mind. Sophia's eyes traced his body openly, lingering on his chest and abs before returning to his face.

"You look ready," she whispered, stepping closer. Her robe slipped slightly open, revealing more of her smooth skin and the curve of her breasts. "I can't wait to watch you from the stands. I'll be cheering for you the whole time."

She leaned in and kissed him slowly, deeply, her tongue sliding against his in a lazy, sensual dance. The kiss stretched long, unhurried, her body pressing against his. Her hand slid down his chest, brushing lightly over his boxers, feeling him harden under her touch. She moaned softly into his mouth, her fingers teasing him through the fabric.

"Not now," she whispered against his lips, pulling back with a teasing smile. "Save it for after the match. I want you to play with all that energy… and then come back to me tonight."

Alex groaned softly, his hands on her waist, pulling her closer for one more deep kiss before they separated. The seduction was building slowly, exactly as he wanted.

Mateo woke up soon after, excited and energetic. The three of them had breakfast together in the suite — simple room service, but the atmosphere was warm. Mateo kept talking about how he couldn't wait to see Alex start the game. Sophia watched Alex with dark, hungry eyes whenever Mateo wasn't looking, her foot occasionally brushing against his leg under the table.

After breakfast, Alex left for the team meeting. He kissed Sophia on the cheek in front of Mateo, keeping it innocent, but the look she gave him was anything but.

The team bus took the players to the stadium. The atmosphere on the bus was focused and tense. Coach Victor Morales stood at the front, going over the game plan.

"We're in sixth place — one point above the playoff line. We cannot afford to drop points today. We need to fight from the first minute. Rivera — you're starting. Show them what you can do from the beginning. The team needs your creativity and fight."

The players nodded. Captain Marco "El Rey" Delgado patted Alex on the back. "First start, 33. Go out there and play like you did in training. We're counting on you."

Alex felt the nerves and the excitement mixing in his chest. This was real. He was starting.

The team arrived at the away stadium. The crowd was already filling the stands — a sea of away fans and home supporters. The floodlights were on, the pitch looking perfect under the lights. Alex walked through the tunnel with the starting XI, the roar of the crowd growing louder with every step.

In the locker room, the atmosphere was electric. Players changed into their kits, taped their ankles, and listened to the coach's final instructions.

"Play with heart," Morales said. "We're fighting for our lives in the table. Sixth place, one point above the line. We need a result today. Rivera — you're starting in the No. 10 role. Create. Fight. Unlock them."

Alex pulled on his number 33 jersey. It felt different now — heavier, more meaningful. He looked at himself in the mirror. The young player who had died on a couch in 2024 watching legends was now starting a senior match.

The team walked out onto the pitch. The roar of the away crowd hit him like a wave. The lights, the grass, the noise — it was all real. He took his position in the No. 10 role, heart pounding, mind crystal clear.

The referee blew the whistle for kick-off.

The match began.

The opponents were physical and organized, pressing high from the first minute. Galaxy tried to build, but the away crowd was loud and the visitors were sharp on the counter.

8'

The visitors scored on a quick counter. A long ball over the top split the defence. The striker took it in stride and finished low.

0–1

The home crowd erupted. The away fans groaned. Alex clenched his jaw and immediately called for the ball to restart.

22'

The visitors scored again on another counter. Galaxy were caught out of shape. The score became 0–2.

The stadium noise grew louder. The away fans were frustrated. Alex felt the pressure, but it only made him more determined.

He dropped deeper, demanding the ball, trying to create from the No. 10 role. He used Phantom Shadow Dribble to beat two players and delivered a dangerous through-ball, but the striker was offside.

The first half continued at a frantic pace. Galaxy pushed forward, but the final ball was lacking. Alex created two clear chances with precise passes, but the strikers couldn't finish.

The half ended 0–2.

In the locker room, the mood was tense. Coach Morales spoke firmly.

"We're 0–2 down. We're in sixth place — one point above the line. A loss today would be disastrous. We need to fight back in the second half. Rivera — keep creating. Keep fighting. We're still in this."

Alex sat quietly, listening, his mind already focused on the second half. He was determined to turn the game around.

The second half was about to begin.
