"Elernal Flame: Leonard style Thousand howling Winds!" Leonard spoke calmly with a faint smile.
Eight circular ring lime objects formed. They all burned, but the flames within those rings were different from one another. In the center, the flame was violet. It was intense—scorching flames. The ground trembled violently, his fist covered in a massive condensed flame aura.
Oxygen burned at an alarming rate in the atmosphere.
"Now see the difference!"
Boom!!
Leonerd struck the ground, and huge flames erupted, nearly engulfing them.
At the last second, the flames vanished. Leonard had done it.
"These symbols vary from person to person."
"Kids, spare with your partners assigned," Leonard announced.
A pause
"Lucy, you and Ed pair up."
"Understood," Lucy said politely.
"I look forward to our spar," Lucy said as she glanced at Ed.
"Likewise," Ed nodded.
Ed stood in the arena after he had changed into his battle uniform. Now he wore a black coat long enough to cover his neck. On his wrist rests his sword.
On the other end of the arena was Lucy. She now wears lime green armor. Strange runes hovered around it.
"I have never seen a spirit Knight fight," From the seat, Raelith spoke, amusement visible on his face.
"Who do you think is stronger?" Evans asked Raelith.
"Isn't It be, Ed? He defeated a nightmare lord alone!" Jin remarked.
"I wouldn't be this positive if I were you," Evans spoke as he glanced at Lucy. Her armour gleamed with radiance.
"What do you mean?" Jin narrowed his eyes
"It's difficult to pinpoint, she is a spirit Knight after all," Evans remarked, his thoughts.
"Begin!" Leonard's voice tore through the air.
'A spirit mage, interesting,' Ed made a mental note.
"Spirit Ascension," Lucy spoke.
Dark violet energy coiled around her long sword. That sword had a blue blade with strange runes carved in it. Violet aura condensed her blade. Golden light gleamed.
Lucy shone like a blazing star.
"Soul Sevence!" Ed spoke. Dark black coiled his blade. It was pitch black like the void.
One was a blazing star, the other was a void—pitch-black shadows.
Ed leaped
Lucy charged. She took a strange, sword stance, the edge of her swords lay flat toward Ed. It was like a martial art—sword arts.
Violent, blazing sword struck against the Void black blade.
Shadow clashed against Light.
Ed overwhelmed Lucy at first. Everyone present thought Ed would win, but near the end, the tide shifted.
"Spirit Sovereignty!"
Now Lucy Blade was enveloped in blight light. It was like a blazing flame.
A blinding light.
Light started to prevail, but Ed wasn't done yet.
"Soul Plant!" Shadows vanished, and a blazing flame radiated around Ed's sword.
BOOOOM!!
Azure flame clashed against Blazing flames.
Azurite fought flames.
They exchanged blow after blow.
"Yeah, Ed can't use that," Jin concluded.
"Exactly, even I don't know Ed's power's origin, and if unleashed, catastrophic damage would take," Raelith proved his earlier theory.
'Soul corruption is too dangerous,' Ed's mind raced.
'Yes, I can still use that right!' Ed's grin widened
"He's smiling in a situation like this?" Lucy frowned.
"Soul Devour!" Gray energy naked to everyone's eyes except Lucy—she was a spirit knight, so spirit energy could leave her grasp.
This energy entered Ed's body.
[Souls X43]
[Total Soul: 454]
[Demonic soul: 1]
A student in the audience fell on his knees while another grabbed their head with both hands, and so on. The culprit? It was Ed, he had absorbed their soul temporary making them weak.
"Quite bold of you to use such twisted technique before my eyes," Lucy said as a strange aura surrounded them.
Ed lifted his gaze toward the audience, but there was no difference in their reaction.
"If you thought someone else was hearing us, don't worry, this veil blocks inside noise," Lucy said, guessing from Ed's demeanor.
"Who are you?" Ed asked, puzzled.
"Now did I catch your attention~" She laughed as she struck Ed with another blow.
Ed was sent crashing—the price of paying no attention to the spare.
"Who told you you could look away~" Lucy said, her voice playful.
Ed steadied himself mid-crash.
blood trickling from his nose.
'I was careless, damn,' Ed wiped the blood from his nose.
He raised his sword high, a chaotic aura taking form. Blue soul energy condensed, and strange light radiated around his body.
"Soul Cleave," Ed said it barely being a whisper. Eyes glistering with cold light.
Ed leaped at Lucy
Clash!!
Lucy parried his strike and back-stepped, making distance between them. She attempted to raise her sword but halted.
"This is the end." A cold metal brushed against her neck. Lucy gulped down, took a long breath.
"Ed, you win," Lucy raised both her arms in defeat.
Ed withdrew his blade.
In that instance, she struck, but Ed was faster.
Her long sword flew from her grip and landed far away in the arena.
"The winner is Ed Orves!" A man with gray hair, black eyes, and a white robe with an ancient pattern announced.
"Well done," Leonard said
"These are your results," Leonerd raised his arms in the mid-air runes formed.
Once the ruins were formed, they hung over mid-air.
They were a result of the students' spar:
1st- Raelith Graywet
2nd- Evans Nova
3rd- Ed Orves & Lucy
4th- Jin & Sam

Clang Clang!
The bell rang.
"You guys have got a month of weekend go spend your time with your families. There may not come another time, so enjoy," Leonard said as he vanished within the flames.
These words unsettled many, especially the last part. Leonard knew something, it appeared, but they dismissed it, saying it was to scare them.
"Ed, going home this weekend? " Evans asked
"Yeah, what about you guys? " Turning to the group, Ed asked.
"Well...I..Don't think I'll visit home," Jin said as he scratched the back of his head oddly. It suggested suspicions.
"It's been a while since I last saw my sister. I can't delay it, haha!" Evans said as he laughed.
