Chapter 133 - Chapter 133 Durin thought for a moment

Today is June 20th, 10 days until Piltover University opens.

Durin, who was doing push-ups to train his muscles, suddenly heard a rolling sound from the speaking tube.

Grumble—

A dark blue, mechanical speaking tube rolled out of the pipe. Durin was a bit surprised. He walked over, and a label was clearly affixed to it: Landlord Daniel.

Only then did he remember that he had promised the landlord to visit their home every two to three days to chat with Seraphine and check her mental stability.

Sure enough, after gently unscrewing the speaking tube and holding it to his ear: "Mage Durin, I wonder if you are free today? Would it be too much trouble for you to come over today?"

Durin thought for a moment; he didn't have much to do recently anyway.

He opened the drawer of his desk, took out the speaking tube with his name label on it, gently twisted the left side, and a miniature microphone device, similar to a recorder, popped out.

Durin spoke: "No problem, I'll take the tram over; I'll be there in half an hour."

After speaking, he tapped the speaking tube with his hand and called into it: "Hey, Bell Rat, please hurry over."

After waiting briefly against the wall, a small Bell Rat slid out of the pipe. It carried a small black cloth bag, wore a shell cap on its head, and was dressed in a custom-sized vest.

It wore a mechanical mask that covered its entire face, and when it looked up, a pair of fluorescent green eyes stared at Durin.

After handing the speaking tube to the Bell Rat, the creature gave Durin a standing salute, then tucked the speaking tube into its small cloth bag and skillfully climbed into the pipe, disappearing with a whoosh.

Seeing this, Durin tidied himself up, took a shower first, then changed into more ordinary clothes.

He wrapped the spiked mace in black cloth and stuffed it into his instrument bag. If an Enforcer with a rifled musket saw such a lethal cold weapon, they would come to inspect his weapon permit, and if he didn't have one, he would have to go to the Piltover Hall of Justice.

After getting everything ready, Durin slung his instrument bag and worn round shield over his back and left his home. After paying the fare, he took the tram and soon arrived at the Gryllweir Street station.

At this time, there weren't many pedestrians on the street. The buildings were all constructed from pristine white stone, with roofs made of refined steel, complemented by glass-like neon windows.

In short, the impression given was: the people living here were very wealthy, the kind of 'flowing gold' rich. They belonged to the solid middle class in Piltover.

Soon, Durin found a garden villa with its own private wall. This was the home of Mr. Daniel, the musician.

Before entering, Durin straightened his clothes, then pushed open the wooden picket gate.

Inside the courtyard wall, there were some flowers and shrubs. The living room's floor-to-ceiling windows offered a clear view of the small courtyard and allowed the morning sun to stream in.

Durin walked up and knocked on the door. After waiting for a moment, a dark-skinned, overweight maid he hadn't seen last time appeared before Durin. She looked at Durin curiously and asked with a smile, "May I ask who you are?"

"My name is Durin, Mr. Daniel asked me to come over," Durin replied with a slight smile.

The dark-skinned maid's expression suddenly changed. She quickly stepped aside to clear the entrance, and humbly said, "Oh, it's Mage Durin. The master has already given instructions; please come in."

After entering the house, Durin changed into a pair of slippers and went straight to the living room, where he saw Mr. Daniel and his wife having breakfast.

"Mage Durin, you're here! I just received your speaking tube. Would you like to join us for breakfast?" Daniel, who was sitting in a chair, immediately stood up upon seeing Durin and said with a chuckle.

On the dining table were pear and wheat chicken breast salad, oil-free scrambled eggs, Black Forest smoked ham slices, and hand-rolled sashimi sushi. Durin shook his head and declined, "No, thank you, I ate very early."

Then, he asked, "Where is Miss Seraphine?"

"Still sleeping, she didn't sleep well last night," Daniel sighed, saying somewhat helplessly, "It seems she heard those 'voices' again."

Just then, the sound of slippers pattering down the stairs interrupted their conversation, and a dreamlike figure appeared in Durin's line of sight.

Her face was as cute and delicate as a doll's, and her long, wavy, cherry-blossom-pink hair cascaded behind her, accentuating her already fair skin, which was like milk in a porcelain bowl—delicate and lustrous, like top-grade mutton-fat jade.

Beneath her flowing long hair was a graceful figure wrapped in a black short-sleeved top. At first glance, she was as pure and lovely as the girl next door, yet she also gave off an ethereal, light feeling.

But hidden in her eyes was a deep weariness, the kind of tormented fatigue that comes from wanting to sleep but being unable to.

"Good morning, Mage Durin."

Seraphine's voice was melodious and nimble.
