The cheers and warm applause slowly settled into a joyful hum as the formal announcement came to an end. All across the hall, music began to play softly, and people returned to their drinks, food, and laughter. The official presentation was over, but the atmosphere remained electric with excitement. Azaria stood near the bottom of the staircase, her hand still tucked comfortably into the crook of Theon's elbow. Her heart was still beating a little fast against her ribs as she looked around at the crowd.
She was still adjusting to the knowledge that the wolves around her now saw her in a completely new light. To them, she was no longer merely their Alpha's human mate, nor was she just an outsider visiting their world. She was officially the woman who would one day stand beside Theon as their Luna. The weight of that realization was massive, but as she took a deep breath, she noticed that the air in the room felt surprisingly warm, welcoming, and devoid of pressure.
