The afternoon sun painted warm stripes of gold light across the rumpled sheets that were half on the bed and half on the carpet. Azaria stirred slowly from her sleep, her eyes still heavy as the pleasant ache in her muscles served as a vivid reminder of everything they had shared the night before. Everything was a blur. She didn't even know where she had left her glasses. She was lying on her stomach, resting comfortably in the haze of half-sleep, when she felt Theon shift beside her.
His hands moved over her skin, warm and completely reassuring, smoothing gently over the curve of her hips to turn her onto her hands and knees. The last traces of sleep fell away completely, replaced by eager warmth pooling in her chest as she felt him press against her from behind, entering her in one fluid motion that drew a breathless sigh straight from her lips.
What a way to wake up.
