The week went by nicely and Azaria found herself actually enjoying the steady routine of working closely with Priya. Things were getting done so much faster. There was still some gossip circling the office since her and Theon's grand entrance at the gala, and she could sometimes hear the hushed whispers whenever she walked into the breakroom, but no one with anything negative had confronted her directly and that was a massive win in her book. She simply kept her head up and focused on her workload, letting her results speak louder than any of the jealous rumours floating around the departments.
By the time Thursday evening rolled around, the initial excitement of the promotions had settled down and Azaria finally had a quiet moment to herself in her apartment. She sat on her couch with a cup of chamomile tea and dialled her mother's number to talk about the upcoming plans.
