Warm light spilled from the café windows as Azaria stepped inside, the scent of coffee and pastries curling through the space. Evening traffic moved beyond the glass slowly and Azaria was glad she had beat the worst of it. Traffic was getting particularly worse now that the rain had come, but the noise was muted by the soft music drifting overhead.
A small crease rested between her brows as she reached into her coat pocket for her phone again, glancing at the last message from Theon.
Meet me at the cafe on Wave street after work? I have something important to talk to you about.
She had been confused the first time she read it. Meeting at a café instead of his office felt unusual for him, especially with the message sounding so serious. The mention of something serious had only made her more curious on the drive over. He must have left the office before he sent the message. A small smile tugged at her mouth as she lowered the phone and scanned the café.
