Ethan's pov
"What do you guys think you're doing?" The girl stood in front of me, glaring at the students with her hands on her waist.
"And where did this pretty one come from? I haven't seen you before. Are you a new student?" Sam asked with a grin, his eyes filled with lust. This guy is so disgusting.
"Stop asking me useless questions and answer me. How dare you treat a fellow student like this? Don't you have a conscience?" She continued. She's really standing up for me. I felt a bit protected for the first time in a while.
"What's going on here?" Daniel walked in with his hands in his pockets, his head held high, looking as proud as ever.
" We were teaching him a lesson when the girl interrupted" Sam explained and took a step back, giving Daniel the lead.
"She's pretty indeed. I'll forgive you for this one all because of your looks. Now run along and don't interfere in something that doesn't concern you" Daniel said, sounding cocky.
I felt like if this dragged on, the girl might end up in danger so I forced my aching self up but before I could do or say anything, the girl took a few steps towards Daniel.
Emily's pov
I stood in front of the tall guy whose name I didn't know. I glared at him for looking down on me.
"Do I look that weak to you? I dare you to try something rash again right here, right now. Do you want to give it a try?" I asked, each of my words dripping with coldness.
I hate it when I see people getting bullied.
Sure enough, this guy was over a foot taller than me but that doesn't mean that I should be scared of him.
"This bitch is really asking for it" the boy snorted and raised his hand. I was ready to defend myself but before I could feel or do anything, a strong hand held his hand, stopping his action.
I looked up and saw a handsome face glaring at the other boy.
Although he didn't look as neat or polished as the other students, he was still handsome than most of them.
I noticed the dry blood on his mouth and a few bruises. Why didn't he stand up for himself?
"That's enough Daniel" the handsome boy said. He released Daniel's hand, glanced at me briefly then picked up his book and turned to leave.
I looked at his back as he left, he looked a bit... lonely. Somehow, I felt curious.
Curious about why he was being bullied by almost all the students and also why he didn't fight back.
My name is Emily Johnsons. I'm the only daughter and the second child of the Johnsons family. I have an older brother, Brian who I love so much. My family and I just relocated from country B to country M.
Although Brian insisted that since he's already a student of Brinswill University, he'll just stay there until he graduates.
My family have always pampered me right from birth and I don't think I've ever known any real hardship.
I resumed at Gardenia high school today and I was really excited until I came upon today's encounter.
During class, I introduced myself and I was shocked to find out that I was in the same class with the boys I encountered today. Oh well, might as well deal with it.
As I walked through the school gate after school, I saw the boy who got beaten up also leaving, his head bent low.
My mom insisted on picking me up after school but I refused saying I'll just take a taxi. I'm no longer a child and I think it's time for me to start taking care of myself.
I walked over to the boy and tapped him on the shoulder. He raised his head and looked at me, his expression a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Hi, I'm Emily the new student. We had a bit of an encounter this morning" I said with a friendly smile. This guy looked like he has a hard wall built around him, a wall filled with thorns. Funny enough, it only made me more curious.
The boy looked at me blankly without saying anything. There were a few minutes of silence and it felt kinda awkward.
"Are you okay? You were really hurt today" I tried again but he just looked at me coldly for a moment before turning away.
I was about to give up and go my way when,
"Thanks for today but I'd advise you not to do that again" he said without bothering to look at me. Why is he cold?
"Shouldn't you be a little nicer? I saved you this morning" I countered.
"Did I ask you to?" He snorted, making me stop in my tracks.
I've never met someone so ungrateful.
"Fine then, I'll just ignore you next time. Jerk" I said and turned away from him.
I had planned to walk home with him but I think I'd rather take a taxi than talk with someone so annoying.
Ethan's pov
I sighed inwardly and continued walking home. I didn't mean to sound so rude but I couldn't let my guard down. Bianca also approached me the same way once but she turned out to be one of them. I can't let myself be made fun of any further.
