"Wake up sleepyhead!" Amari waking up Alexander who still asleep and mumbles gibberish so he resorted to final solution "(Sigh) Don't blame me for not waking up on time!" As the former going to slap Alexander face the latter finally awakes "Good morning man" He greeted the man as he yawned and stretch his body, "Your lazyass have finally awakes, we have mission briefing at 0730H (7:30AM), go wash your face before going to get breakfast at the field kitchen" Amari said to him before leaving "Yes mom!, Hey! who about you?" Alexander asked Amari reached the exit of the room "We already eaten, your the last one out" Amari amusly answered him as he waves his hand and left the room
"What!?" Alexander was stunned so he checks his smartwatch where it's already 0712H (7:12AM),'I'm fucked' He laments his predicament but he only sighed and gets up, as he exited the building which is originally an office of an private company see lots of soldiers, marines and even some airman helping some maintenance working hand in hand with each other 'There's must be a major operations coming' he thought as making way to the field kitchen where he was served an steamy hot chicken porridge with boiled egg and warm water for dehydration
When done with breakfast, he proceed to the briefing area which is on the second floor on the platoon building where the rest of his platoon are already there lounging, just waiting for Lieutenant Morris to arrive "Hey guys! The sleeping princess finally arrives!" A corporal green hair and olive eyes banters as the former enters the room causing every thirty six legionnaires to laugh "Shut up, Corporal" Alexander irritably looked at him but it only makes the group to tease him more, after waiting for minutes, Lieutenant Morris and the Platoon Sergeant enters the room
"At ease, take a sit platoon" Lieutenant Morris ordered as he ordered them to sit and get comfortable, "On 0930H (9:30AM), 1st Company will be spearheading in search and destroy operation of the remaining demonic monster 35 Kilometers Northeast from the city" Lieutenant Morris shows the map through the projector "As you know, Goldenburg is a last frontier city which it borders the Great Forest where several of the empire's dangerous species considered it home and most of them are extremely territorial" He change the presentation side to show pictures of those creatures, from an tiger with an active camouflage to a wolf of an unimaginable power and speed
"The Empire tried to conquer the land since the founding of the country, and each of it ended in a devastated defeat" Next he presented a video where lots of dead bodies and destroyed vehicles shattered, "Question Lieutenant, why does high command send us in to kill those demonic beings if the local wildlife can do it much more effectively while not sacrificing our legionnaires lives" Sergeant Winters asked the Lieutenant but he can only shook his head "I don't know Sergeant, we asked the same question to the Captain but even he doesn't know either"
"But, I'm gonna be honest with you,maybe there's more to it than meet the eyes but even then we are legionnaires they give orders and it is our duty to fulfill it" Lieutenant Morris voiced his inner thoughts on the matter before continuing "In light of these dire circumstances, high command blessed us with new toys to play with" He presents a picture of an technology which leads all platoon excited "Let me introduce you to Armored Combat Assault ExoSkeleton Type One, this the most advance piece of technology that we can use, this equipment can lessen our load to 75% and allows us to walk, run and climb much more faster and lastly it's battery can last upto 1 month and 30 days without charging"
Lieutenant Morris smiled at his legionnaires, they perfectly understand such advantage especially in a treacherous environment such as the Great Forest, after discussing several topics Lieutenant Morris adjourned the briefing, "So Arthur what you think of the mission?" Amari asked Alexander as they are going to the armory to fetch their stuff for the mission "Just like the Lieutenant said, there's something fishy in the mission because if I were the commander I would let those fucking demons chewed by the wildlife but we are legionnaires Amari it's our job to perform our duty" Then look at his friend face with a resolute determination "Even we have doubts on it"

Inside of an 8x8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Alexander holding a picture of his sister smiling lovely before putting on his pocket then suddenly explosion rocks the vehicle "Ambush!" Sergeant Winters called out then the ramp opening the rear as the IFV firing it's 30MM autocannon in airburst configuration on top "Go! Go!" Winters rushes his squad outside at the back of the vehicle and get cover in the near massive tree before returning fire "Eat lead mother fuckers!" Amari screams as he unloaded his MG-35 machine gun at the targets
"Alpha Actual, This is Bravo Actual, those are no monsters! They are demonic magicians! Over!" Sergeant Winters reports to the Lieutenant over the radio as demons starts pouring in and start using powerful offensive spells "Copy that Bravo Actual! I already called an artillery bombardment at their location! Get cover! Over and Out!" Then Winters orders his legionnaires to get cover, the demons thought that the humans are weak so they rushed out of their at covers while laughing until get blowned by an 155mm artillery shells for 30 seconds continuously, when the legionnaires get out of the cover they saw limbs and intensities flown out, some even desperately dragging themselves only to be captured and transported for interrogation
As the platoon moved in a Staggered Column formation at the designated mission area he can't help but to think who useful the exoskeleton 'Damn! This thing actually performed as advertised! We didn't even sweat duirng the firefight and long walking' As the platoon closing in to the objective site he notices that there are no demonic monsters sighted yet even with the help of drones and reconnaissance satellites until...

Lieutenant Morris shouted then orders to shift the platoon formation into Platoon Line for maximum firepower at the bear, despite being hit by M5EA-30A MAAWS (MultiRole Anti Armor/Anti Personnel Weapon System) it continues running at them so Alexander adjusts his firing posture and wait until he can see the eyes of the bear "200 Meters!" Sergeant Winters alerted his men of the target's range "180 Meters!" Then finally Alexander press the trigger of his rifle and the bullet entered the left eye of that creature thus resulting of it's crashing and trashing on the ground
ROAR!
The creature roared loudly, luckily all of the platoon have eye protection "Surrounded that bitch!" Lieutenant Morris orders as Alpha and Bravo remain at the front while Delta and Charlie squad moves in a flanking maneuver, sensing it's immediate death the demonic bear tries to run but unfortunately was hit at the head by a 84mm HE (High Explosive) shell killing it instantly "Damn, this bear is tough as an MBT" Sergeant Winters comments as they inspect the corpse of such species's "This reminds me of Monster Hunter World which I used to played on my older brother computer, where you kill and loot monsters" The Sergeant reminds of his past younger self fondly, but the squad look otherwise as if looking an alien
"What?" Winters asked his squad then a Corporal answers "Well Sergeant, we never though of you being a sentimental type of person" The Corporal said bewilderedly as this is the first time they see their cold Sergeant to display such emotion "There's a first time for everything, let's rally up with the platoon" Winters lead his squad to rallied with the rest of the platoon and discuss the next move, "Listen up platoon! We received a report that 7 Kilometers North from our position, there's an abnormal anomaly that blocks visual observation and strange energy signature eminating from it that neither the empire or the whole world have ever seen, so our mission is to secure the site until the experts from the capital arrives question?" Seeing that no questions raised, the platoon moves out beside what would go wrong in just a simple task...
