Chapter 5:
Ren's vision blurred, barely able to stay conscious as he felt himself being held upright.
"…I'm sorry I'm late, Ren-sama."
Ren's eyes struggled to focus, his breathing uneven. "…Who…? Who are you…?" His voice came out faint, almost breaking.
The hooded figure didn't answer immediately.
Instead...
A faint, cold pressure spread through the air.
Ren's instincts screamed because something was wrong terribly wrong...
Across the street, the other hooded figure slowly rose from the rubble, chunks of concrete sliding off his shoulders. Blood dripped from where his arms had been severed, splattering onto the ground in thick, dark drops.
"…You've got to be kidding me," he muttered, his voice low and irritated. "That actually hurt, you know."
Then something unnatural happened.
Ren's eyes widened weakly as he forced himself to stay conscious.
The blood began to reverse.
"What…?" Ren whispered, his pupils shaking.
Threads of dark energy wrapped around the stumps of his arms, writhing like living shadows.
As flesh began to rebuild even down to his bone. Muscle and Ski everything reconstructed in seconds.
Ren's breath hitched. "Regeneration…? No… that's not normal… that's insane…"
The second hooded figure clicked it's tongue in annoyance.
"Tch. You're really making me waste time here."
The attacker flexed his newly formed fingers slowly, as if savoring the feeling. "…So you're one of them," he said, rolling his neck with a crack. "A servant?"
The figure holding Ren remained calm, completely unfazed. Gently, she lowered him to the ground.
"Stay still, Ren-sama," she said softly. "You've done enough."
Ren tried to grab her sleeve weakly. "W-Wait… don't go…"
"its okay i'm merely fulfilling my duty," she replied, rising to her feet.
Then she smiled. "…Now I understand." her tone shifted
"But I have two questions to ask you before I kill you."
The attacker let out a short laugh as he leaned back slightly. "Ooo… kill me?" he mocked. "You're talking as if you could. Do you even hear yourself?"
The figure smiled again, slowly removing her coat and hoodie.
"… ohh but of course I can I don't say things I don't mean."
The fabric slid off her shoulders, revealing her face.
Ren's eyes snapped wide open.
"…No way…"
It was her.
The same woman the one he saw with his uncle the night before he died.
His mind spun.
"Ehh—wait, wait!" Ren suddenly shouted despite his weakness. "What is going on?! I saw you with my uncle after you both had sex...!"
She froze.
Her face went pale instantly.
"Ehh...?!" she panicked, waving her hands rapidly. "No, no, no, it's not like that, Ren-sama! You're misunderstanding! That's not what happened at all !"
"Then what did I see?!" Ren shot back weakly.
"I'll explain everything!" she said quickly, flustered. "Just just let me deal with this one first, okay?! Please?!"
"Deal with...?!"
Before Ren could finish thee attacker vanished then appeared behind her in a flash.
"Where do you think you're looking..."
"WATCH OUT!" Ren screamed but she had already turned, her eyes met the attacker mid-air.
And in that instant a sudden pressure engulfed his entire body.
"…!"
The attacker's expression changed instantly.
He stumbled back, forcing distance between them.
His breathing grew uneven as his mind raced
"What… what was that just now…?" he muttered, sweat forming on his face. "That pressure… it felt like… death stared back at me…"
He has always been a top dog but right now his hands trembled slightly.
"If she wanted to… she could have sliced me in half…"
His pupils shrank.
"…Impossible there's only one who has that type of death stare other than alphas but she can't possibly be...
Then he spoke out loud, his voice tense.
"…Are you Sylva…?"
Ren's eyes widened. "Sylva…?"
"But that's impossible," the attacker continued she died 300 years ago legend says she was capable of taking on multiple alphas at once and she was the founder of the tsuki no kage energy so tell me who the hell are you?"
"300 years…?" Ren whispered in shock.
The female figure sighed, placing a hand on her hip.
"I thought I told you," she said calmly, her gaze sharp, "I would be the one asking questions."
She took a step forward.
"Question one judging by the colour of your eyes, you're an omega aren't you Which means the alphas don't know of Ren-sama's existence."
She tilted her head slightly.
"Because if they did… they would come themselves."
Her eyes narrowed.
"They wouldn't send someone like you to wipe out a potential threat."
Her voice dropped "So tell me… who else knows?"
The attacker stayed silent but his eyes gave him away.
The female figure smiled.
"…Now I understand."
She tapped her chin lightly.
"so he wasn't just being careful enough, was he?" she said casually after I literally told him to not do anything..... sigh I can hear your heartbeat, you know."
The attacker's face went pale.
"…So all of this…" she continued, her smile widening mischievously, "…was based on a hunch?"
Silence and that was answer enough.
"I see." she straightened slightly.
"Then there's no need for me to ask you the second question."
She took one step forward and in the blink of an eye she was right in front of him.
His eyes widened in pure shock.
"Impossible....she's..."
But it was to late her punch drove straight into his chest.
BOOM.
His heart exploded out of his body in a single strike.
"—GHH—!"
Before the body could even fall nine long tails burst out behind her.
In one swift motion....
Slash.
Slash.
Slash.
His body was cut into twenty separate pieces, including his brain. Which was chopped in half
Blood splashed everywhere, ren's eyes widened, his voice barely a breath.
"…Huh…?"
In an instant the attacker was gone.
The female figure sighed, stretching her arms casually.
"Man… I really needed that," she muttered. "It's been a while since I got to move like that."
She turned back and froze because ren was staring at her in complete shock.
Her face went pale again.
"…Ehh…" she mumbled. "I… I literally overdid it, didn't I…?"
She scratched her cheek awkwardly.
"…That was too much, wasn't it?" she walked toward him slowly but Ren staggered back slightly in fear.
I mean who wouldn't And she noticed she smiled softly.
"I see… your uncle had that same reaction when he first saw me in action."
Ren's eyes widened. "Uncle Ben…? What are you talking about? What are you? Who are you?!"
The female figure blinked then suddenly brightened.
"Ooo seriously, my bad!" she said with a small laugh. "I completely forgot to introduce myself."
She placed a hand on her chest proudly.
"I'm Sylva."
"…Sylva…" Ren repeated weakly.
His vision began to fade.
"Ehh Ren-sama?" she said quickly, stepping forward.
But his body gave out as he collapsed.
She caught him just before he hit the ground.
"…You did well, Ren-sama," she whispered gently, smiling.
She looked around at the ruined street.
"Ehh… I created a sound barrier across the entire street," she muttered. "So no could hear anything…"
She paused. "…But still…"
Her eyes scanned the destruction.
"…Look at this place. It's completely ruined…"
She sighed.
Then adjusted Ren in her arms.
"…Let's go home."
With that she leaped into the sky and disappeared into the night.
