Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Infected Camp

The scorching air rose, cooled in the sky, carried atmospheric moisture, and fell back to the earth as rain.

Frostnova remained in place, her mouth filled with the taste of Jean's blood.

Two streams of heat flowed down her cold cheeks, mixing with the warm rain, indistinguishable from one another.

"I have lost again..."

It was just someone she had known for only a few hours, but at this moment, she filled Frostnova's heart.

Even though she looked about the same age as her, she was incredibly strong-willed.

But Frostnova did not dislike that strength; she could feel the warmth brought by the concern within it.

Having just experienced betrayal, her heart already set on death, walking towards the end, yet she had seen the light of salvation before that final moment.

She had brought hope, brought a future, declared that she belonged to her, yet kept pouring her own life into her, doing everything in her power to bring her out of Lungmen, and in the end...

Now, Frostnova wanted neither anger nor revenge; she only wanted her, to see her again.

"God, since a miracle has appeared once, please let it appear a second time; let her return to my side!"

Just then, the silvery-white wind wrapped around her suddenly began to blow, and then silvery-white particles condensed into Jean's body.

"I heard you, so I'm back!"

Seeing Jean's smiling face, Frostnova hugged Jean's body and could no longer hold back her sobs.

And Jean held Frostnova in her arms, happily savoring this moment.

---

Looking at the molten ground all around, Jean was very grateful to possess this ability she had only just mastered.

"Sacrificial Domain" is the most important ability of the Stardust Dragon, transforming her entire body into a super-high concentration of Stardust Wind to defend one or more targets against almost any attack.

And after waiting for a short interval, she would return to her own form.

Silently enduring the needle-like headache, forcing the elementalized body to move solely by relying on her own soul and will was an immense burden on her spirit.

Fortunately, long-term training in creating stardust crystal had greatly tempered her mental power, and coupled with the catalysis of a large amount of life force representing life itself, this ability could be unleashed.

And protecting Frostnova on the first use also made Jean very satisfied; it was just a pity she couldn't release it again in the short term, otherwise her head would surely explode.

For this reason, Jean specifically waited until the Lungmen cannons had retracted before deactivating the ability.

However, the time difference became the reason for Frostnova's crying, and the culprit, Jean, felt both heartache, a bit of guilt, and a tiny bit of secret pleasure.

Waiting for Frostnova's emotions to stabilize, Jean took out the motorcycle she had casually stored in her spatial pouch. Fortunately, this spatial pouch had a huge 3mX3mX3m space, enough to store the motorcycle; otherwise, the two of them would have to wander the wilderness on foot.

Now that Frostnova and Jean's conditions were both poor, heading directly to Chernobog was definitely not a good choice.

So, under Frostnova's guidance, they set off again, heading towards the rendezvous point preset by the Reunion Movement.

---

The rendezvous point was located in the nearby mountains, and it was almost 6 AM when Jean arrived.

The temporary camp in the mountain col was in chaos at the moment, and Jean rode in swaggeringly without encountering any obstruction.

Arriving at the central clearing, she saw a group of people arguing with each other, and Jean curiously watched from the sidelines.

It looked like they were roughly divided into three sides. One side was the remnants of the Reunion Movement led by Crownslayer and the Phantom Crossbowmen.

The other side was the Snow Monster Squad, along with members of the Guerilla Squad and some supporters.

The last side was interesting; it was the Infected who had retreated from Lungmen, and leading them was actually Ch'en.

Holding Chixiao, she had the air of "I'm the one in charge today."

As for the topic, it was quite simple: Crownslayer's side wanted to go find Talulah to demand an explanation. Although they had been treated as abandoned pieces and bait, a part of Lungmen had indeed suffered a devastating blow, so the plan had not been a complete failure.

As for Ch'en and the civilians, along with the part of the Reunion Movement led by Nine, they didn't trust Talulah and didn't want to get involved in the conflict for now; they wanted to leave the Lungmen area first and find a place to settle down and consider the future.

The Snow Monster Squad's stance was just one sentence: wait for the Big Sister to return.

Then the three parties started arguing endlessly. Fortunately, everyone was a fellow sufferer, so they were all restrained and didn't start a brawl.

Seeing this, Jean supported Frostnova as they walked up, and because of this, they received the attention of everyone.

The Snow Monster Squad was naturally ecstatic, but someone reacted faster.

"Who are you?" Crownslayer asked, pointing at Jean.

"Ah, nice to meet you. I'm Jean, and I'm married to Frostnova. Please take care of us in the future."

"Eh, this, ah, happy wedding... wait, no!" Crownslayer, who had been taken aback by Jean's sudden statement, realized: "Aren't you both women!"

"You're behind the times, Miss Crownslayer. Same-sex love is true love, isn't it?"

"So that's how it is..." Crownslayer fell into confusion again.

Frostnova elbowed Jean, but surprisingly, she didn't correct her.

And the Snow Monster Squad came over.

"Big Sister!" "It's so good that you're safe!" "Thank you, Lord Evil God, for really bringing Big Sister out."

"Since Frostnova has returned, it's time to decide where we're going." At this moment, Nine stepped out and said.

---

"Talulah has betrayed us; she will bring destruction to the Infected," Frostnova said.

"So do you think we should go and retaliate against Talulah?" Crownslayer asked, frowning.

"No, we should find Patriot and W, consolidate more strength, and gain more say. We need a more powerful voice; otherwise, the Reunion Movement will inevitably fall apart."

Jean looked with some surprise at Frostnova, who was leaning on her. Although this white rabbit looked very stubborn, her thinking was surprisingly clear.

Although the people present expressed their agreement, Jean knew this was simply not enough.

To make the oppressed rise up, they either needed ideology, military force, or even money.

And these Infected actually had nothing. Their so-called armed forces were a joke in front of great powers, with only a small elite reaching the world's forefront.

Fortunately, there was still the life-consuming power of Originium Arts, otherwise they wouldn't even be able to make a sound.

And just at this moment, that annoying riddler's voice rang out again.
