Chapter 16 - 17

The sky seemed to hold its breath.

High above Planet Sadala, Ben Tennyson stood in that new, quiet state, his aura almost invisible, yet heavier than anything before. Across from him, the stranger no longer hid his seriousness. This was no longer a test. This was a conclusion.

"You've stepped beyond your nature," the stranger said slowly. "Not just Saiyan… something else."

Ben tilted his head slightly. "Yeah… I stopped trying to fit into one thing."

For a moment, neither moved.

Then—

They vanished.

The clash that followed wasn't loud like before. There were no massive explosions, no wild shockwaves tearing apart the sky. Instead, every movement was precise, every strike clean, every exchange faster than perception itself.

Below, even Cabba struggled to follow. "I… can't even track them anymore…"

Caulifla clenched her fists, grinning despite the pressure. "This is insane… he's on a completely different level now."

Kale watched quietly, her eyes never leaving the sky. "He's not forcing power anymore… he's flowing with it…"

Up above—

Ben slipped past a strike, countered instantly, then shifted direction mid-motion, landing another clean hit. The stranger adapted quickly, matching him again, but the difference was clear now.

Ben wasn't reacting anymore.

He was anticipating.

Reading.

Moving before the attack even came.

For the first time since arriving—

The stranger was being pushed back consistently.

"…So this is your answer," the opponent said, blocking another strike but sliding slightly. "Not more power… but perfect control."

Ben didn't respond.

He moved again.

Faster.

Sharper.

A final exchange began.

Both of them surged forward at once.

Their fists collided—

Then separated—

Then collided again in a rapid chain of blows that bent the air around them.

And then—

In a single instant—

It ended.

Ben stepped through.

One precise movement.

One decisive strike.

The impact landed cleanly.

The stranger froze.

Time seemed to pause.

Then—

His body was pushed back slowly, stopping mid-air.

Silence.

The pressure that had weighed on the planet… faded.

The stranger looked at Ben for a long moment.

Then, slowly—

He smiled.

"…You've surpassed the need to prove yourself."

Ben lowered his hand, breathing steady, his state still calm.

"…Does that mean you're done?"

The stranger nodded slightly. "My purpose was to observe and correct imbalance. But you…"

He paused.

"…are no longer an imbalance. You are a new standard."

With that, his form began to fade.

Not defeated in anger.

Not destroyed.

But… dismissed.

Before disappearing completely, he spoke one last time.

"Grow further… Ben Tennyson. The path ahead of you… will not be simple."

And then—

He was gone.

The sky returned to normal.

The weight lifted completely.

Ben remained there for a moment, silent, before slowly descending back to the ground.

As he landed, Caulifla immediately walked up to him, looking him up and down. "You're seriously unfair, you know that?"

Ben smirked slightly. "I get that a lot."

Cabba bowed his head slightly. "You've gone beyond anything I imagined."

Kale stepped closer, her voice soft. "You're okay…"

Ben nodded.

"…Yeah."

For once—

There was no immediate next fight.

No enemy waiting.

Just peace.

But deep down—

Ben knew something.

This wasn't the end.

Not even close.

Because now—

He wasn't just surviving in this universe.

He was shaping it.

And whatever came next…

Would have to face something entirely new.
