Back at the guild, Hilde stood behind her counter staring at the bag that Shizori dropped earlier.
Hmm... what could be inside?
Should I open it and check?
She ruffled her hair.
But what if it's something special?!
I don't want to make her angry..
She glared at the bag, her eyes turned dark.
A small devil version of herself appeared on her right shoulder.
It whispered into her ear.
"Just do it, a tiny glimpse should be fine... she'd never find out..."
"NO! Don't do it!" The angel version appeared, pushing the devil one aside.
"It's way too big of a risk!"
The devil grabbed the angel by the neck and threw her far.
"Dooo it. Doooooo it. We all know you want to!" The devil's voice echoed through her head, her eyes glinting.
Slowly her hands moved closer and closer to the bag.
It's okay, I'll just take a quick peek... nothing more...
She opened the bag a little and peeked inside, together with the devil.
Inside were the sweets they bought earlier, slightly crushed, jumbled together, and dirty mud water seeped through the bag.
That doesn't look good at all...
What should we do now devil?
"We? You're on your own!" The devil vanished in a smoke cloud.
Her face went pale.
I was supposed to watch over the bag...
If she sees this...
She imagined Shizori's sobbing face as she turned to Alex and hugged him tight while he smirked at Hilde.
I have to do something!
Grrr.
I'm not letting him have one over me like that!
What if I just throw those away and make up an excuse for where they went...
This time she imagined Shizori's disappointed face, her head and shoulders drooping.
She ruffled her hair up even more.
I can't do that to the precious sweets from Shizori!
Her gaze snapped toward the sweets or rather, what was left of them.
Only one option left...
Gulp.
I'll just have to... e... eat them!
