Chapter 3 - "A New World: Kame House?"

The narrator speaks, "The chapter picks up months after the previous events. We find Dango on a desert world known as Planet Jumper, where he wipes out a massive herd of sandworms with a single blast. He floats above a towering stone wall, protecting the natives of the planet, a red-skinned humanoid race with pointy ears known as the Gummies.

They were weak compared to most, but kind and welcoming. After arriving without any fuel left in his ship and being treated with nothing but hospitality, Dango decided to help them by clearing out their natural predators, the sandworms. Now, he had finally wiped them out completely.

In his honor, the Gummies held a grand feast, celebrating him as their savior. By the end of it, they even built a statue in his image. After spending a month on the planet, Dango prepared to leave, having gotten fuel from the king Clemat, and continue his journey through space.

Though this story isn't what it seems.

Before his departure, his friend Kipo approached him. A short man with a large nose, thin frame, and a slightly unhinged look, with black hair and dark eyes, Kipo had been the one to first welcome Dango into his home. Dango hadn't exactly made it easy, he could be annoying, messy, and careless at times, but Kipo endured it. Over time, and through a few shared adventures, that patience turned into something real. The two had grown close.

Without saying much at first, Kipo handed him a necklace. It was made from Kachi Katchin, the rarest and strongest material in the universe. Shaped like a small red diamond with a clean, brilliant cut, it was polished to a shine and large enough to sit firmly in his palm. Kipo had crafted it himself.

Dango took it, slipping it around his neck. For a brief moment, he just looked at him. Then they bumped fists. Dango smirked, joking that maybe next time they met, Kipo would have put on some weight.

With that, Dango took off once again.

He continued making stops across remote planets, training and growing stronger.

But... Unknowing to him, a greater threat loomed. He has been traveling across space, defeating soldiers of the Vegeta Empire and beginning to think they were all talk. But soon, he would learn the true power of the army of Vegeta."

Our hero continued his training on a remote planet, lifting an entire mountain like it weighed nothing, all while talking to Nikel through his communicator. She kept him updated on her life. She had started a small farm, growing carrots and apples, taking care of sheep and pigs, and still keeping up with her training. She admitted she wasn't getting much stronger, but she was staying in shape and managing on her own.

As their conversation came to an end, Nikel suddenly shouted that one of the pigs had jumped the wall and was eating all the carrots. The device beeped, and Dango let the mountain fall back into place, a small smile forming as he took comfort in knowing his friend was doing well.

But once the silence returned, his thoughts began to wander. He found himself wondering what his brother was doing out there in the vast expanse of the universe.

Nine months had officially passed since Dango had left his home. For Bango, a full year had gone by, so, a year had officially passed.

In a distant part of space, on Earth, we are shown Roshi's island. The old man sat calmly on his turtle, watching the scene unfolding above him.

It was Bango, now wearing the orange gi of the Turtle School with a turtle shell strapped to his back, sparring against Krillin. The older fighter moved with ease, deflecting Bango's attacks as if they were nothing. But Bango adjusted quickly. With perfect timing, he unleashed a Solar Flare, momentarily blinding Krillin.

Krillin shut his eyes tight, wincing. "So that's how it feels to be on the receiving end."

Taking advantage, Bango rushed in and landed a few clean hits. But it wasn't enough. Even without his sight, Krillin sensed him. He countered immediately, striking Bango and smashing him straight down into the sea.

Bango surfaced, coughing up water, while Krillin hovered above him. He acknowledged that Bango had improved, but still doubted his chances of winning.

Krillin rubbed his nose. "You're getting close, but you'll need more than that to beat me."

He reached down and helped Bango back to his feet. As they returned to the Kame House, Roshi praised Bango's progress. Considering Krillin was one of the strongest fighters on Earth, it was impressive that Bango could even keep up.

Roshi then handed him his next task. His expression grew serious for a moment before he suddenly shouted for Bango to go fetch everything on the list he was holding, a piece of paper packed with groceries.

Krillin fell flat on his face in a comedic gag.

Getting back up, Krillin sighed to himself, "Classic Master Roshi."

Bango, however, took the paper without question, treating it like it was part of his training. Without hesitation, he rocketed off, determination clear in his eyes.

As he flew, he couldn't help but admit to himself that he had once thought this planet was nothing special.

But that wasn't the case anymore.

Back at Kame House, inside, Krillin and Roshi sat watching a very inappropriate show. Krillin made a comment, shaking his head as he pointed out that Roshi's perviness knew no bounds.

Roshi snapped back, telling him to shut up, pointing out that Krillin was enjoying it just as much.

As their conversation continued, the topic shifted to Krillin's pupil, Bango. Krillin thought to himself that the boy wasn't truly his student, considering Roshi had mostly been the one offering guidance.

Roshi, however, remarked that Bango was an unusual pupil, his potential unmistakable. He was strong, yet surprisingly humble, leaving Roshi to wonder where such a fighter had come from.

Krillin nodded, a small smile crossing his face as he reminisced about the first time they had met.

A flashback began, taking us back four months earlier.

Bango's space pod rested in a crater, sat among jagged mountains. Bango hovered above it, eyes closed, sensing the planet for the nearest and strongest energy. At first, he considered leaving. From what he could tell, there was nothing worth his time here.

Then he felt it.

A massive surge of power, possibly even greater than his own.

But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished.

Rocketing in that direction with excitement, Bango could only hope the natives were friendly. Yet he couldn't shake the thought that the one he was tracking was unique, able to hide their energy just like his own people.

Realizing it would take some time to reach the source, Bango powered up fully, his aura flaring around him. Almost instantly, a figure appeared; it was Krillin, confirming Bango's suspicion that this man had mastered some level of Ki control.

Krillin immediately demanded Bango's identity, noting that he was clearly more than just a kid, given the energy he was projecting. For a moment, he even suspected Bango might be an android, though he quickly dismissed the thought after sensing his Ki.

Bango moved to clear up the misunderstanding. He wasn't an android, a villain, or anything of the sort. He was simply a man on a mission.

He spent the next two hours recounting his entire tale to Krillin, sharing every detail of his journey and the battles he had fought.

Krillin was stunned by everything he had just heard. Recognizing Bango's power from the Ki he was giving off, and his clear need for guidance, he offered to train him himself.

Bango hesitated. He wasn't sure at first. But that brief surge of power he had sensed earlier stuck with him. He wanted to see it for himself. There was only one way to know.

Taking a battle stance, Bango shouted, demanding Krillin show him what he was capable of.

Krillin stared at him for a second… then burst out laughing.

"You've got to be kidding me," Krillin said, barely able to breathe between laughs.

Not taking the disrespect lightly, Bango rushed forward and threw a punch. Krillin dodged it effortlessly. Bango followed up with a kick, but that too was avoided with ease.

Stepping back, Bango's expression hardened. He got serious.

He charged in again, unleashing a flurry of kicks and jabs, faster and more precise this time. But to his shock, every single strike was either blocked or dodged without effort. Krillin even complimented him mid-fight, which only made it worse.

For the next twenty minutes, Bango went all out. Relentless attacks, no holding back.

And still, nothing worked.

Between strikes, Bango shouted, "FIGHT BACK AND STOP DODGING!"

Frustration built in his voice. He warned Krillin not to underestimate him. Back on his planet, he was practically the strongest.

Krillin simply nodded. He explained that if he actually fought back, the match would be over in an instant. But if that was what Bango wanted, then fine.

"Promise me you won't wet your pants," Krillin said with a grin.

In the blink of an eye, the fight was over. Bango's head slammed into a mountain, burying him deep in the rock. When he pulled himself free, he dropped to the ground, stunned.

He looked up, still trying to process what just happened. In an instant, Krillin had closed the distance, a red aura flaring around him, and landed a kick before Bango could even react. This guy was on a completely different level.

Krillin touched down and praised him, saying that for his age, he was already strong. But if he truly wanted power, he needed someone to refine that strength. He had a good foundation, but there was still a lot he could learn.

Krillin rubbed his nose with a smirk. "So what do you say?"

He held out his hand.

Bango stayed quiet for a moment, then took it, a smile forming on his face. As he got up, questions immediately started pouring out. How was he this strong? What kind of training did he go through? What was the first step?

Krillin quickly stopped him, telling him he was rushing things and needed to relax.

Bango frowned, clearly getting annoyed. "Come on, short bald head mister, where to?"

In the next instant, Krillin appeared right in front of him, jumping up to his height and smacking him on the back of the head.

Grabbing Bango by the shoulder, Krillin asked him what he just said, his expression now clearly irritated.

Krillin grew serious and said, "First order of business, the name's Krillin. But you can call me Master Krillin."

He stood there looking cool, arms crossed, waiting for the respect to land.

Bango looked at him for a second, then shrugged. "Yeah… I'll stick with Mr. Baldy."

Krillin's expression dropped instantly.

The Narrator speaks: "Over the next two months, Bango was introduced to Master Roshi and put through the same grueling routines Krillin had endured. He delivered milk on a bicycle up steep mountains, dodged swarms of bees, and performed intense physical exercises while wearing turtle shells far heavier than anything Krillin had ever worn. All the while, Krillin held monthly sparring sessions with him, though he never truly took Bango seriously."

Krillin finished telling the tale, only for Roshi's eyes to widen in shock. He had never known that Bango was an alien. It all made sense now, Bango was unusual, but an alien? That was a surprise.

Just then, the door burst open, and Bango returned, carrying an enormous stack of groceries.

"I'm back, Mr. Baldy!" Bango shouted.

Krillin shot back immediately, "What did I tell you about calling me that!"

Krillin continued to shout, his frustration obvious, while Bango simply stood there, listening calmly.

Roshi, meanwhile, leaned back, a small smile forming as he remembered the days he had trained Krillin. Back then, Krillin had been cocky and brash, so different from calm, composed Bango. His thoughts drifted to the other Z Fighters, Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Chi-Chi. It had been a year since he had last seen them, long after the androids' attack, and he couldn't help but wonder what they were up to now.

The Narrator speaks, "We get a brief glimpse of the others. Tien and Chiaotzu are meditating underwater, calm and unmoving, dressed in what looks like their Buu Saga attire. Far away, Yamcha appears more like his Saiyan Saga self, sharper and more serious. He's seen at a baseball stadium, then heading straight back to training in a facility Bulma built, wearing his Turtle School gi. Finally, at Fire Mountain, Chi-Chi trains relentlessly, kicking through the air with precision, dressed in a Turtle School gi as well, while Ox-King and Grandpa Gohan watch her with pride.

With Bango now on Earth and Krillin established as a master, how will the story of these brothers unfold? What has happened to Earth without Goku's involvement? How did they survive the dangers they faced, and will Dango be as fortunate in finding a master as his brother, or will he fall behind?

These questions, and more ,will soon be answered. Find out next time on Dragon Ball Horizon!"
