Chapter 2 - Vᴏʟᴜᴍᴇ 2: Tʜᴇ Sᴏᴠᴇʀᴇɪɢɴ’s Asᴄᴇɴsɪᴏɴ

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 1: Tʜᴇ Rᴏᴀʀ ᴏғ Sᴏᴠᴇʀᴇɪɢɴᴛʏ

The sunrise over Beijing that morning didn't just feel like a new day; it felt like the first page of a new world history. Xun Long stood in the center of his cramped dormitory room. He didn't see the peeling wallpaper; his vision was occupied by the translucent golden streams of data and wealth flowing through his mind—the digital heartbeat of the global markets he was now silently infiltrating.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus on his left wrist felt heavy, its mechanical ticking a rhythmic reminder that his time was now the most expensive commodity on Earth. He slid into his bespoke charcoal-grey suit. The Italian silk, infused with liquid carbon fiber, was bulletproof yet lighter than a summer breeze. He stared at his reflection. The hollow cheeks of the "sickly" prince were gone, replaced by a jawline so sharp it looked carved from obsidian.

"System," he whispered, his voice a low, resonant baritone. "Initialize the Spectre."

[PING! ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE (BLACK BADGE) POSITIONED AT DORMITORY EXIT.]

[DAILY TASK INITIATED: 'THE SOVEREIGN'S WALK'.]

He walked out. The dormitory hallway was silent, but as he stepped into the main courtyard of Sheng-Hwa University, the atmosphere shattered. Usually, Xun Long was a shadow. But today, the air itself seemed to bow. Every student he passed froze. A group of girls sitting by the fountain stopped mid-sentence. One dropped her smartphone, the screen shattering, but she didn't even notice. They didn't recognize him as the boy in the faded hoodie. They saw a man who moved with the lethal grace of a predator.

At the main entrance, the usual parade of elite supercars was in full swing. Ming was leaning against his white Lamborghini, bragging about a new offshore account his father had opened.

"Where is that beggar?" Ming laughed, blowing a cloud of expensive cigar smoke. "Maybe we should buy him a bar of soap so he doesn't smell like the slums when he accepts his scholarship award today."

Suddenly, a sound like low thunder echoed through the street. A pitch-black 2026 Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge turned the corner, its Spirit of Ecstasy ornament glowing with a faint, dark violet light. The students parted like the Red Sea. The car glided with a terrifying authority, pulling up directly in front of the main gate and blocking Ming's Lamborghini.

The suicide door opened with a soft, expensive click. A polished black leather shoe hit the pavement, followed by a figure that turned the campus into a graveyard of silence. Xun Long stepped out, adjusting his platinum cufflinks. His cold gaze swept over the crowd. When his eyes landed on Ming, the boy's heart practically stopped.

"Nice car, Ming," Xun Long said, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. "It's a shame your father's shipping lanes were flagged for 'internal liquidation' ten minutes ago. I'd suggest you hold onto your keys tightly; they're all you have left."

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 3: Tʜᴇ Sʜᴀᴛᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ Gʟᴀss

Li Mei was standing on the library balcony, her fingers gripping the marble railing until they turned white. Then, her phone buzzed. It was a private line. Her father.

"Mei! We're finished!" her father screamed, his voice sounding broken. "The Li Tech Group... someone executed a hostile takeover! They moved through our firewalls like they didn't exist. Our majority shares have been snapped up by an anonymous entity, 'Sovereign Holdings'!"

Li Mei felt the world spin. "Who, Dad? Who has that kind of capital?"

"We don't know! The source is untraceable, but the patents, the satellites—everything is being signed over as we speak! Find out who is behind 'Sovereign Holdings' or we are on the street by tonight!"

Li Mei dropped her phone. She looked down at the courtyard. Xun Long was looking up, his silver-tinted eyes locking onto hers. He didn't smile. He simply gave her a look of absolute ownership. She realized then that the "Ice Goddess" was no longer a queen. To the man standing by the Rolls-Royce, she was just another piece on the board.

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 4: Tʜᴇ Dᴇʙᴛ Cᴏʟʟᴇᴄᴛᴏʀ

"You... Xun Long?" Ming gasped, his voice trembling. "How... how do you have this? You're supposed to be a nobody!"

Xun Long stepped closer, the scent of expensive sandalwood and cold power radiating from him. "A nobody sees the world as it is, Ming. I see it as it should be. And in my world, you don't belong in that car."

Right on cue, a heavy-duty flatbed truck pulled up. Two men in dark suits stepped out. "Mr. Ming? We are here on behalf of the new creditors. Your father's personal assets have been used as collateral for a defaulted loan. This vehicle is now property of the state."

The students watched in horrified silence as Ming's Lamborghini was hooked and dragged away. Xun Long didn't even blink. He turned his attention back to his phone, dismissing the heir as if he were an annoying insect.

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 5: Dᴀɪʟʏ Eᴠᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ Tᴀsᴋ

[PING! 'THE SOVEREIGN'S WALK' COMPLETED.]

[REWARD: NEURAL SYNC +2%, CHARM RADIANCE +5%.]

[NEW TASK: 'THE IRON-YARD INTEGRATION'.]

[OBJECTIVE: REACH THE RECYCLING PLANT AND ACTIVATE THE HIDDEN QUANTUM CORE.]

Xun Long felt a sharp, cold surge in his brain. His vision flickered with green code for a split second. The world slowed down. He could see the micro-expressions of every student—fear, envy, and confusion.

He didn't wait for the questions. He slid back into the rear seat of the Spectre. "To the Iron-Yard," he commanded. The car moved forward, the students scattering out of its path as if it were a physical force of nature.

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 6: Tʜᴇ Sɪʟᴇɴᴛ Oᴠᴇʀᴛᴜʀᴇ

Inside the cabin, Xun Long opened his laptop. The takeover of Li Tech wasn't just about money; it was about the Indus Project—a secret defense satellite network. By using the System to mask his transactions as a massive market surge, he had avoided detection while gaining the keys to the world's most advanced eyes in the sky.

He began to upload the Absolute Overlord System's core into the satellite's mainframe. The encrypted data of the "Five Clans" was finally within his reach.

"Mei," he signaled his System's AI. "Prepare the encryption bypass. I want the Elders to feel the walls closing in before they even know I'm the one pushing."

Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 7: Tʜᴇ Fɪʀsᴛ Vᴇʀᴅɪᴄᴛ

As the Rolls-Royce reached the outskirts, passing through the rusted gates of the Iron-Yard, the System chimed.

[NEURAL SYNC AT 10%.]

[GLOBAL SURVEILLANCE ACTIVATED.]

[TARGET IDENTIFIED: THE FIRST ELDER OF THE XUN CLAN.]

Xun Long looked at the holographic map. A red dot was pulsing in a mountain fortress. His own grandfather. The man who had ignored his existence for years.

"You wanted a pawn you could forget," Xun Long whispered, his eyes turning a lethal silver as the gates of his scrap-yard fortress locked behind him. "Instead, I'll give you a Sovereign you can't survive."
