Even though she had never fought before, she would not back down.
It stood there, shaped like a person 230 cm tall—but wrong. Its body was covered in cracks, like broken stone, and a red-black light glowed from inside. Parts of it shifted slowly, and now and then, a twisted human face appeared on its surface before fading away.
Its chest was hollow, dark and empty.
When it moved, it didn't walk properly. It dragged and lurched forward, its limbs bending in unnatural ways.
It looked like a broken human body—held together by hatred.
The Animosity before her had only just formed.
Individually, they were weak—barely stronger than mortals.
But their numbers…
And worse—
given time, they would converge, becoming one—far stronger than anything she could handle.
She moved first.
Power gathered in her legs—
Then she dashed.
The ground cracked beneath her step as her body blurred forward, crossing ten meters in an instant.

She had no training and knew no sword technique. All she could do was swing.
Her blade cut through the air with a sharp sound, severing the monster's front leg instantly. Its body collapsed, but she didn't stop. She stepped in and swung at its neck, only for the blade to stop halfway through.
-15!
-Critical 30!
It wasn't dead.
"Ah—!"
This time, the head came off, and the body dissolved into red-black mist.

It took her six seconds to kill one.
Too slow.
When she looked up, more had already gathered—thirty of them. Some of the faces were familiar, people she used to see every day.
But today, she would bring them down.
All of them.
As she looked around, more Animosity had already gathered. Thirty of them now surrounded her, their distorted forms shifting as familiar faces surfaced briefly across their bodies—faces she used to see every day.
But today—
she would bring them down.
All of them.
With her speed, she had enough mobility to move through the ruined village without being caught easily. Against these newly formed Animosity, her sword was still effective.
But even then—
she knew.
At this rate, she wouldn't finish them all in time.
Her gaze shifted to her ability.

She had already spent 300 Spiritual power, covering the entire village within a range of three hundred meters.
The monsters surged toward her all at once.
She moved on instinct. Her heightened perception guided her steps as she dashed in one direction, forcing a path through their encirclement.
As she broke through, she thrust her sword forward, piercing one of the monsters. Without stopping, she dragged the blade outward, slicing across its body, then reversed her grip and swung again, cutting its lower half apart.

It still didn't fall. She didn't hesitate. Stepping in, she swung again, cutting through its arm before finishing the strike.

But in that moment, another attack slipped through—
something struck her back.
HP -8[HP: 92/100]
She staggered forward, her footing breaking for a split second.
Too slow.
Another shadow moved at her side.
She turned just in time, raising her blade to deflect, the impact running up her arms as she was forced back a step.
HP -11
[HP: 81/100]
Her movements were still unrefined.
Even with enhanced strength and speed, her lack of combat experience showed.
She could move fast.
She could strike hard.
But she couldn't control the flow of battle.
She dashed again, shifting her direction to avoid being surrounded. This time, she didn't stop after the first strike.
Her blade pierced forward—
Then tore sideways—
Then rose again in a crude upward swing before a downward slash at the neck.

-25!
-Critical 40!
The monster collapsed into mist.

But there were still too many.
Time was running out.
She only had around two and a half minutes left.
She was just an eight-year-old girl.
No training. No experience.
Thrown into a life-and-death battle.
"Can I… really do this…?" Her voice trembled. "What can I even do…? I'm just a child… facing twenty-seven monsters alone…"
[Stop those useless thoughts. Once you have received both Profession and [Title], you are no longer a child. What you were before no longer matters—even at the edge of death.]
[You are now a Noble—one of the Unseen, chosen by me, the System. You are bound to your cause. Fulfill your duty.
Perceive your surroundings through your Spiritual power.
Even in the face of death, a Noble must maintain dignity.]
[But I personally don't think so. Just follow your heart to the end.]
A line of text appeared before her once more, communicating with her through the system. It seemed to be from the one who called himself [System]—an ordinary man.
Even so, it helped her calm down.
"…Even in death… I shall follow it through."
She focused.
This time, instead of looking outward—
she felt.
She could feel it now—the green mist that flowed from her was no mere effect.
It was part of her.
And it obeyed her will.
She closed her eyes and followed her instincts, she sheathed her sword and extended her hand toward the green mist, guiding it slowly.
The mist responded.
It gathered, condensed—
and formed a green spear in her grasp.
There was more to it—but she couldn't grasp it yet.
Still, this rudimentary use of power was already enough for her situation.
"So… this is how a Noble wields power…"
Without hesitation, she hurled the spear toward the monsters.
The spear tore through the monsters—
the green mist dispersed them directly into red and black mist.
-100!-100!-100!-100!

One spear tore through four monsters in a straight line before dispersing into mist.
Even with only one minute left—
she now knew the battle was already decided.
"…Your act of defilement has come to an end."
She raised her hand.
The green mist gathered at her command.
Impatient with its pace, she poured her Spiritual power into it, forcing it into shape.
As she dashed into the fray—
one leap covered 10 meters.
As she appeared in front of it, wielding a sword made from mist—
she slashed forward, cutting its head in one swing.
She could feel the mist around her tremble.
Two shadows appeared on both sides of her—
but she was already prepared.
She twisted her body as she stepped to the side—
her surroundings now acting like a second eye.
Another approached from behind.
She condensed a rope and bound its movement—
then backflipped into the air, her body upside down—
before swinging and severing its head.
Every hit was fatal.
As she landed on another monster, she plunged her sword downward from its neck to its spine.
As it turned to mist, she dashed to another monster on the left—
while conjuring another spear in the air.
She could feel it—
controlling one with her mind in the middle of battle was already her limit.
As she approached her target, it swung its limb toward her.
She lowered her body mid-dash, sliding between its legs.
She slammed her fist into the ground to stop her momentum. The ground cracked as dust burst outward.
The weapons she created couldn't affect anything except the monsters—
so she threw her mist sword to the side, piercing one directly.
Her body twirled—
mist gathered on her shin as she swept its legs.
As it fell, she jumped onto its face—
and started punching, her fists covered in green mist—
until it disappeared.
The spear she controlled continued to protect her.
That's right—
she started a brawl.
If she lacked combat experience—
then she would simply overwhelm them.
"I'll beat every one of you myself—until you run back home crying."
She could feel it.
The longer the battle went on—
the thicker the mist in the area became—
the stronger she became.
Now she felt exhilaration like never before—
losing herself in the rhythm of battle.
The elegance of a Noble could barely be felt anymore.
A different kind of beauty appeared—
rough.
wild.
Even though she had become a Noble—
it couldn't change everything.
No matter what others said—
she was still just a child.
She couldn't lie to herself.
"Ha—ha! Remember who beat you all into submission!
Remember my name—Mei!
The Unseen Noble!"
Even as she shouted—
her fists didn't stop punching.
Her legs didn't stop kicking.
Her body blurred as she appeared behind one of the monsters.
Gathering power into her feet and mist into her shin—
she spun and kicked its ribs, sending it flying into another monster—
as her spear pierced them together.
"Is that all you've got?!"
Another monster appeared at her side and swung its limb forward.
She twisted her body to the side, caught its limb—
and pulled it toward her with mist.
Before it could react—
she gathered mist at her forehead—
and headbutted it.
"Come on! Try harder!"
Another monster charged toward her.
She gathered the surrounding mist—
and created a wall.
She recalled her spear to her side as she rushed forward.
The green mist wall didn't impede her movement in the slightest.
She grabbed the spear—
and swung it down, cleaving the monster in half.
She no longer knew how much time had passed—
or how long her form could last.
Now—
she truly enjoyed the fight.
Before she knew it—
she had already killed all of them.
Three seconds left.
She exhaled as the area created by her Decree faded, and [Noble Presence] dispersed.
A heavy weight settled over her mind. Her vision darkened, as if she had gone blind. The world disappeared—no wind, no warmth, not even the sensation of her own skin.
She couldn't feel her body anymore.
[Perception is how you sense the world—through sight, smell, and touch.
Your Spiritual power is connected to your Perception.]
[For those without a physical body, this is not a problem. But for you, as someone who is still half mortal, it puts strain on your body. You will recover soon, so there is no need to worry.]
Even though she couldn't perceive anything, the System's words still shone clearly in her vision.
[You have done well.]
[Also, Congratulations.]
