Chapter 252 - Registering as an Animagus

After witnessing the Wild Shape ritual, everyone was quite satisfied.

Jaina looked around at everyone present and suddenly made a decision.

"This seems to be our 'Genius Club'... Damn it, which conceited bastard came up with that name? Anyway, this is the first time all of us have gathered together. Why don't we have a little party?"

The conceited bastard she was referring to looked at the witches gathered together and thoroughly enjoyed the harmonious atmosphere. He nodded in agreement.

"Exactly. No time like the present. I haven't formally introduced all of you to one another yet."

"Then I'll prepare some late-night snacks." Zhang Qiu volunteered immediately. She wanted to make a good impression in front of these "older sisters" of Lewis's.

"I'll help too!" Penelope immediately joined in.

"Me too." Hermione also joined them.

Tonks then led them to the kitchen to prepare the food.

Jaina was about to follow them when Lewis stopped her.

Recalling the insights he had gained while transforming into a phoenix, as well as what he had previously read in the Black family's Animagus manual, Lewis, whose intelligence had soared to 23 points, had already gained some understanding.

"I think I've figured out how to allow someone to become a Magical Animagus without relying on the Wild Shape ritual, using only the ordinary Animagus ritual."

Lewis explained it to her.

"You mean we could also have a chance to transform into magical creatures like you?" Jaina's eyes lit up. "As expected of my little brother Lewis. You've accomplished something no one in history has ever managed to do."

In her mind, Lewis was already a wizard with potential comparable to that of Antonidas and even Guardian Aegwynn.

"So, Jaina, what do you think? Interested?" Lewis raised an eyebrow.

"Of course. I've wanted to transform into a powerful creature like you for a long time."

The reason she had never practiced becoming an Animagus was not because she lacked the ability. Rather, she simply wasn't interested.

Transforming into an ordinary animal would be completely useless to her.

But transforming into a powerful magical creature was an entirely different matter.

In that instant, several possibilities had already appeared in her mind.

On the other hand, Onyxia was completely uninterested.

"What's so great about transforming into a magical creature? With all the time you'd spend on that, you might as well relax the restrictions you've placed on me. That would be far more useful than any Animagus transformation."

Indeed, what could possibly compare to turning into a dragon?

But Lewis merely rolled his eyes at her.

"Keep dreaming."

It wasn't because he was afraid he wouldn't be able to control Onyxia.

After sacrificing a Philosopher's Stone, he had permanently engraved the effects of the Malicious Transformation onto the Black Dragon Princess. No matter how much he restricted her, even if she recovered all her strength, she still wouldn't be able to break free.

But Lewis couldn't keep an eye on her every day.

If he allowed her to return to her original form, who knew what trouble this chaotic dragon would cause whenever he wasn't paying attention?

Lewis ignored Onyxia and turned toward the others.

"If you want to transform into a magical creature, you'd better prepare the important materials associated with that creature in advance, such as blood, a heart, and so on. I'll write down the relevant knowledge and precautions and leave them in the tower. Just follow the instructions and complete the preliminary preparations."

Jaina and Shirella nodded together.

Then Jaina suggested, "Since you've already figured out how to turn an ordinary wizard into a Magical Animagus, why don't you choose one form and register it with the Ministry of Magic as the eighth registered Animagus?"

"Have me register with the Ministry of Magic?" Lewis looked at the blonde woman before him.

"Yes. That way, your Animagus form can appear openly and legitimately, and it will greatly increase your reputation." Jaina continued, "Magical Animagi are unique. If we handle this properly, the influence you'll gain won't be any less than what you'll gain from participating in the World Cup. And that's without even mentioning that you haven't joined the British team yet."

Lewis pondered her words and nodded.

Indeed, given his current level of strength, there were some areas where he didn't need to remain so cautious anymore.

It was time to show himself openly.

Jaina continued, "If you register, you can also pave the way for us. As for our plans to become Magical Animagi, there's no need to rush. We can take things step by step."

When it came to increasing one's reputation and making use of such opportunities, Jaina Proudmoore, who had honed her political skills within the Ministry of Magic, naturally had her own methods.

In the original timeline of World of Warcraft, after taking control of the city of Theramore, she quickly transformed from an innocent young woman into a seasoned politician, proving that she had considerable talent in this area.

Now, in the world of Harry Potter, she had fully brought out that potential.

As for Onyxia, although Magical Animagi had nothing to do with her as the Black Dragon Princess, she was quite interested in political schemes and power struggles.

Thus, two people who should have been enemies in the original World of Warcraft timeline were now gathered together, discussing politics enthusiastically.

Shirella stood nearby with her arms folded, listening with great interest.

Her background had given her some understanding of political maneuvering, allowing her to see through many schemes with ease. However, she herself had no interest in getting involved.

Her personality was straightforward, and she preferred simply following Lewis's arrangements.

Meanwhile, the late-night snacks in the kitchen were quickly prepared.

Everyone gathered together on the sofas, and Lewis began introducing his female classmates to Jaina and the others.

"First, this is our Hogwarts Head Girl, Miss Penelope Clearwater. She's also from Ravenclaw. You may already know her. After graduation, she'll be taking the Auror examination together with Shirella."

Penelope smiled gracefully and stood up.

"Welcome to the Aurors, Penelope," Tonks said proactively. "I'll look after you when the time comes."

"This is Zhang Qiu, my senior by one year. She's also the Seeker on the Quidditch team. And, by the way, she's from the same hometown as me."

At this moment, Zhang Qiu displayed the quiet elegance of an Eastern woman. She even looked more dignified than usual, without the coquettish behavior she displayed when she was alone with Lewis.

But when she noticed the teasing look in Tonks's eyes, her cheeks immediately flushed red.

"Luna Lovegood. She's currently one year below me and is also from Ravenclaw."

Onyxia became interested in Luna.

"So this is Xenophilius Lovegood's daughter?"

Luna's pale silver eyes finally focused on the Black Dragon Princess, and she instinctively shrank back.

Sometimes, being too sensitive to the minds of others could be troublesome.

"Don't worry, Luna. She won't hurt you."

Lewis patted her head reassuringly.

Then he turned toward Jaina and the others.

"They're all my friends at Hogwarts. They're the backbone of the Society of Knowledge, and more importantly, they're the people I trust most."

That final statement immediately earned him an interested look from Tonks.

Jaina also felt that the relationship between these girls and Lewis was more than that of ordinary friends.

Next, Lewis introduced Jaina, Tonks, and Onyxia, explaining their identities and their plans for the future.

Before long, the conversation shifted toward Magical Animagi.

In the end, Lewis decided to register his first Wild Shape form, the Chimera, as his official Animagus form.

For one thing, the Chimera was composed of a lion, an eagle, a cat, and a snake.

These four animals represented the four symbols of Hogwarts, so a Chimera composed of them carried considerable symbolic significance.

For another, Lewis's Chimera transformation possessed the ability to adjust its chimeric factors. Not only could he transform into each of the four individual animals, but he could also combine them appropriately to transform into magical beasts such as griffins and winged serpents.

Its functionality was extremely comprehensive.

In short, thanks to this gathering, the members of the Genius Club finally got to know one another properly.

At dawn the following day, Jaina personally went to Hogwarts and asked Lewis's Head of House, Professor Flitwick, to excuse him from classes.

She then accompanied Tonks and Lewis to the Ministry of Magic to have his Animagus form examined and registered.

With Jaina there, none of the procedures caused Lewis any trouble.

He practically received the green light at every step and completed the entire process in just fifteen minutes.

Afterward, Lewis followed Jaina to the second floor of the Ministry of Magic, where the Office for the Misuse of Magic was located.

The employees inside the office were extremely surprised that someone had come to register as an Animagus.

After all, only seven people had officially registered as Animagi in the past century.

That meant that most of these employees had never even witnessed an Animagus registration before.

Tonks handed them a stack of parchment.

The moment they read it, several startled gasps escaped from the office.

"You successfully became an Animagus, and your form is a magical creature—the Chimera?"

A square-faced, gray-haired witch asked the question in a slightly low voice.

If the boy standing before her hadn't been personally brought there by Jaina, she would almost have been tempted to throw the documents onto the floor.

After all, Jaina currently held tremendous influence within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and, indeed, throughout the Ministry of Magic.

The Office for the Misuse of Magic was precisely a subordinate department of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

In other words, Jaina was practically their superior.

However, registering as an Animagus was an extremely serious matter.

She had neither the time nor the patience to entertain some child's childish game.

Lewis saw her doubt and wisely decided not to waste words explaining.

He simply nodded.

But clearly, she wanted to confirm it again.

Her expression became extremely serious as she stared directly into Lewis's eyes.

"You can fully transform into your Animagus form?"

"Yes."

Lewis nodded.

"A Chimera?"

Lewis nodded again.

"Does your Animagus possess the magical abilities of a Chimera? I mean, does it possess more than just the physical appearance of a Chimera?"

"Yes."

Lewis nodded once more, then added, "If you've followed academic research into magical creatures, you'll know that the magic within a Chimera's body is what allows it to maintain its stable existence. Without magic, a Chimera can't even maintain its physical form. Therefore, it's impossible for me to possess nothing more than the appearance of a Chimera."

"Is there really such research?"

The gray-haired witch looked around in confusion.

But her subordinates weren't as knowledgeable as she had imagined either.

Only one middle-aged wizard raised his hand.

"Yes, Miss Hopkirk. I'm certain that this theory was mentioned in the lead paper of one of last year's issues of The Magical Creatures Almanac. I remember that paper even won the annual award that year for its groundbreaking research methods. The author was even recognized by Newt Scamander as one of the future leaders of magical creature studies."

The wizard's voice was filled with admiration.

"In fact, I was the author of that paper."

Lewis smiled slightly at him.

The wizard was stunned for a moment before immediately rushing forward with a notebook and asking Lewis for his autograph.

What was supposed to be a simple Animagus registration had somehow turned into a fan meeting.

But the harmonious scene was immediately interrupted.

"Then I suppose you'll need to transform into your Animagus form right now to prove that you're not lying."

Her tone sounded rather domineering.
