Chapter 245 - Damn! I'm Surrounded by Witches!

Before Saturday's class, every member of the Scholars' Society received the new regulations.

The most eye-catching part of the new system was the organizational structure.

The highest-ranking position in the Scholars' Society was the President, who was responsible for all matters concerning the society.

The President had the final say and did not need to consult the opinions of the other members.

The Chairman, who was essentially the Vice President, was the second-in-command of the Scholars' Society and the President's deputy. The Chairman was mainly responsible for organizing the society's various activities.

In the President's absence, the Chairman would take full responsibility for hosting the weekly classes.

In addition, the Chairman had to organize a secretarial team responsible for keeping accounts, collecting annual membership fees, paying bills, and announcing the society's financial income and expenditures to all members.

Below the Chairman were the Ministers.

Each Minister was solely responsible for one department, with every department handling a specific area of work.

The Personnel Department was responsible for recruiting, registering, and expelling members.

The Publicity Department was responsible for managing the public image of the Scholars' Society.

The Discipline Department was responsible for maintaining internal discipline and ensuring classroom safety.

The Logistics Department was responsible for managing and maintaining the society's books, supplies, textbooks, and other resources.

The Curriculum Department was responsible for preparing classrooms, arranging lessons, and handling logistical matters for each class.

However, the Curriculum Department did not have just one Minister. Each class had its own Minister.

These Ministers would also automatically serve as members of the Board of Directors.

In the President's absence, the Chairman would form the Board of Directors together with them and handle all internal affairs of the Scholars' Society.

Once Penelope had finished explaining the structure of all the positions in the classroom, almost every young wizard's eyes lit up.

In other words, they now had a chance to participate in managing the society?

Many of them immediately felt a stronger sense of belonging toward the Scholars' Society.

"Lewis Green will remain the President. Who is in favor, and who is against?"

Standing at the podium, Penelope looked down at everyone.

Every hand in the room rose in favor.

There was no doubt about it.

The President could only be Lewis.

After all, the Scholars' Society had been founded by him from the very beginning. All of its teaching materials and initial investment had been provided by Lewis.

"Very well. As for the remaining positions, they will be personally appointed by the President."

Penelope looked toward Lewis and stepped aside, leaving the podium to him.

Lewis stepped forward and spoke frankly.

"As the President of the Scholars' Society, I'd like to thank everyone for joining. Your decision to become members is a sign of your trust and support for me. The purpose of establishing the Scholars' Society is to spread knowledge as widely as possible and help everyone improve."

"The reason we are establishing this management structure is also to allow everyone to participate in managing the society. After all, only you yourselves know what you need. Only in this way can the Scholars' Society better serve everyone."

Lewis paused.

Every young wizard's eyes were focused on him as they listened attentively.

"I hereby announce that the first Chairman of the society will be Miss Penelope Clearwater."

"The Minister of the Personnel Department will be Miss Hermione Granger."

"The Minister of the Publicity Department will be Miss Padma Patil."

"The Minister of the Logistics Department will be Miss Cho Chang."

"The members of each department will be selected by their respective Ministers. The members of the Secretariat will be selected by the Chairman."

"And for each class, the person in charge will be selected internally by the students. After three candidates have been chosen, the final appointment will be made by the Chairman."

Lewis had not gone through any nomination or election process.

He had simply made the decisions himself and personally appointed everyone.

Yet none of the young wizards showed any signs of dissatisfaction.

Instead, they looked at the newly appointed officials with anticipation.

Next, each Minister selected their own deputies according to their preferences, while Penelope chose Luna to join the Secretariat.

Penelope had some reservations about this.

In her opinion, Luna's personal abilities were indeed excellent, but the girl was obviously somewhat unreliable.

Having such a dreamy, absent-minded girl in the Secretariat was genuinely troublesome.

But since this was Lewis's decision, she could only accept it.

Under the new system, the management workload was greatly reduced, while every young wizard could receive assistance better suited to their needs.

Lewis also adjusted the curriculum at the right time.

The regular lessons were cut in half, with the remaining time turned into examination tutoring sessions.

Outstanding students from Class Three would provide targeted tutoring in various subjects for students in Classes One and Two.

The new arrangement was extremely popular.

As for the students in Class Three, Lewis provided them with his adapted versions of the Hogwarts textbooks, successfully integrating Arcane Theory with the content of their Hogwarts courses.

This made their studies considerably easier.

With the help of Arcane Theory, everyone felt that their understanding had already reached a completely different level.

After the class ended, everyone happily returned to their respective common rooms.

Lewis, however, unexpectedly asked several girls to stay behind.

Apart from Shirley, there were Penelope, Hermione, Cho Chang, and Luna.

Five girls in total.

Except for Penelope, every one of them had a rather ambiguous relationship with Lewis.

As for Penelope, she was Shirley's close friend and had already agreed to join Jiana's faction after graduation, so she could be considered half an insider.

Moreover, Lewis could clearly feel that ever since the training class had been established, his relationship with Penelope had also rapidly grown closer.

Although she still verbally claimed that Lewis was the outsider who had stolen away her best friend, when they actually interacted, she often gave off the impression that she wanted to steal her best friend's boyfriend.

After Shirley saw everyone Lewis had asked to stay behind, she elbowed him.

"You're taking advantage of the fact that I like you, so you're bullying me, aren't you?"

Shirley complained.

"Why did you leave all of them behind? Are you planning to watch the girls fight over you?"

"You've got the wrong idea."

Lewis smiled bitterly.

"I just thought that it's rare for everyone to be gathered together like this, so I wanted to explain our future plans and goals to them and see if they'd be willing to join us."

"Our goals? What do you want to tell them? Are you going to build the Floating City or open a portal to another world?"

Shirley's anger immediately disappeared, replaced by surprise.

"Have you told Jiana and the others about this?"

"Of course. They agreed that I should recruit a few more talented assistants."

Lewis nodded.

"But I'm not planning to talk that far ahead for now. I'll only talk to them about Voldemort."

According to Lewis's plan, their grand strategy could be divided into three stages.

The first step was to use the process of fighting Voldemort to gradually seize control of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts.

The second step was to use Hogwarts as the center to spread Lewis's Arcane Theory, reshape magical civilization, and build the first Floating City.

The third step was to harness the power of the entire magical civilization to open a gateway to another world and complete their plan to return home.

Of course, returning home through this method was completely different from simply going home.

To put it in a familiar phrase—

It would be the "Dragon King's Return."

If the Scholars' Society was the seed Lewis had chosen to spread magical civilization and establish a broad popular foundation, then the girls in front of him were the core team he had selected.

They would play roles similar to Jiana, Tonks, Onyxia, Shirley, and the others.

After understanding Lewis's plan, Shirley had no further objections.

That didn't mean the others had no opinions, though.

Seeing the other people who had stayed behind with her, Hermione instinctively felt somewhat unhappy.

Cho Chang, who had already learned what kind of person her idol was, had only recently formally developed a closer relationship with Lewis.

At a time like this, she naturally sat quietly to the side like a well-behaved girl.

Luna, on the other hand, already regarded Lewis as her boyfriend.

With her somewhat unconventional personality, she didn't care much about such matters.

As for Penelope, as long as she could get closer to Shirley and spend time with her through Lewis, she was satisfied.

As for Lewis getting close to several other girls at the same time, she wasn't particularly concerned about it—for now.

Looking at the five witches in front of him, each with completely different appearances and personalities yet all exceptionally talented and beautiful, Lewis couldn't help feeling as though he had somehow become the protagonist of a Galgame.

He shook his head and dispelled those unrealistic thoughts before sitting down properly.

Just as he had told Shirley, he did not reveal everything about the travelers from another world right from the beginning.

Instead, using the prophecy as an excuse, he talked to them about the possible scenarios surrounding the Dark Lord's future rise and explained his own deductions about the situation.

"So that's the real reason you established the Scholars' Society?"

Hermione looked at Lewis excitedly.

"You want to improve everyone's strength so that they'll have the power to protect themselves when the Dark Lord returns?"

"Oh, you're even greater than I imagined!"

Hermione naturally believed in Voldemort's return, since she had become Harry's friend.

But Lewis had never expected her to interpret the reason for establishing the Scholars' Society this way.

In an instant, the already lofty image of Lewis in her heart seemed to shine even brighter.

If they were only comparing how "great" someone was, she felt that Lewis could almost stand alongside Dumbledore.

Penelope also seemed to understand something.

"No wonder Shirley and I are going to become Aurors after graduation. So it's to prepare for the return of the Dark Lord."

When Cho heard the name Voldemort, her entire body tensed up.

She was clearly frightened.

But when Lewis looked toward her, the girl still forced herself to straighten her chest and gave Lewis a supportive look.

As for Luna, she narrowed her light-gray eyes slightly and looked at Lewis before answering without hesitation.

"So what do we need to do?"

Well then.

Every single one of them trusted him more than the last.

Not one of them had expressed even the slightest doubt.

Lewis nodded in satisfaction.

"I'll take you to my home and grant you access to it. It contains all the knowledge and wealth I've accumulated. There are also methods there that can rapidly increase your strength."

"You'll also have the opportunity to meet some of my other friends there."

"But no matter what you see or obtain there, you must keep everything secret. You cannot tell anyone else—not even your parents."

Hermione and Shirley already knew about the tower within the demiplane.

Cho and Luna had visited the tower before as well, but they had never learned about its deeper secrets.

Lewis's warning was mainly directed toward them and Penelope.

"I've heard Shirley mention before that you have quite a few precious books and magical items there."

Penelope's expression became excited, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Lewis.

"Of course I'll keep it secret."

In her eyes, the fact that Lewis cared about their safety enough to take them to his private collection was already the greatest sign of trust he could give them.

She secretly made up her mind that she absolutely would not reveal anything she was about to see.

She even felt that they should probably sign some kind of magical contract to guarantee their secrecy.

That would be more reliable.

Cho agreed wholeheartedly.

The girl knew where to draw the line.

In fact, she felt that sharing a secret with Lewis might actually make their relationship even closer.

Unfortunately...

As for Luna, she narrowed her eyes slightly and glanced at Lewis before calmly nodding.

However, Lewis noticed that her ears had turned completely red.

Lewis took in the expressions of the three girls and made his decision.

Then, right in front of them, he opened a portal.
