"Mephisto..."
On the soft bed of the hotel suite, Fenris was unusually awake. He casually tossed the Arc Reactor in his hand high into the air, then caught it gently, his slightly unfocused eyes silently watching the night outside the window grow darker.
As the ruler of a higher Hell Dimension, Mephisto's power was beyond question. He was not much weaker than Odin, the Ancient One, Surtur the Fire Giant, and others of that level, and was nearly equal to Dormammu, another dimension lord.
Although on Earth, most of that overwhelming strength could hardly be brought to bear, Fenris's brief encounter with Mephisto at the stadium today had still made him clearly understand the massive gap between them.
"At least I probably won't have to face him anytime soon."
Thinking of that, Fenris finally felt a little more at ease.
Earth was the center of the Nine Realms, and countless powerful gazes were always fixed on this place. As long as he developed steadily and did not actively provoke those terrifying enemies, then with Mothra's power as his trump card, his personal safety was basically not something he needed to worry about.
"The real issue is what happened in Hell last time..."
Remembering the agonizing experience when the power of Hell had entered his body, as though countless demons were constantly gnawing at his flesh and refusing to stop until nothing but bones remained, Fenris still felt a lingering chill even now.
He could clearly sense that those invisible demons and the power of Hell had desperately tried to merge into his body, replace his flesh and blood, and form an entirely new being.
Fenris knew what that meant.
Godzilla already possessed the power of infinite evolution. On top of that, at that time, he had already begun to gain the ability of the G-cells. If the Ancient One had not taken him away in time, perhaps he would have spent countless years evolving within the Hell Dimension, then, under the power of the Encyclopedia, become an existence that mastered the power of Hell and surpassed the multiverse.
But the slightest mistake along the way would also have meant dying outright in that unfamiliar place.
And doing that would have meant completely giving up the infinite possibilities Godzilla had brought him, locking his upper limit in place forever.
Thinking of that, Fenris blinked.
"Then again, that doesn't sound too bad?"
Power beyond the multiverse was already something countless beings in the universe could only dream of. Was he really in a position to be picky?
Knock, knock, knock.
Inside the spacious suite, Fenris's bedroom door was gently knocked. A lazy voice, carrying a trace of concern, came from outside.
"Fenris, are you still awake?"
"Emma?"
Fenris raised his brows and glanced at the time.
It was already almost past one.
"I'm awake. Is something wrong?"
A ray of colored light lit at Fenris's fingertips. He flicked it lightly behind him, and the door lock clicked open.
Emma walked in with her damp hair casually pinned up, wearing a smooth, flowing nightgown and carrying a delicate late-night snack.
Seeing Fenris lounging lazily on the sofa, she shook the clear wine bottle in her hand and smiled softly.
"You looked off during the day, so I guessed you might have run into some trouble. Want to talk?"
After saying that, she sat down on her own without waiting for Fenris to answer.
"Is it because of that Ghost Rider?"
"The Ancient One said there's no need to deliberately search for the Spirit of Vengeance. It will come to you on its own, didn't she?"
Emma comforted him gently, "I know the power of Hell has been troubling you lately, but things can always be resolved. You don't need to worry too much."
Seeing Emma say so much in one breath, Fenris put away the reactor, sat up, and looked at her with a soft smile.
"Thank you, Emma."
What he was worried about had never been backlash from the power itself.
After all, the essence of both powers was rare nourishment for him. In other words, he had simply taken in a bit too much at once. Hadn't his Encyclopedia failed to activate from beginning to end?
Emma's eyes curved slightly. "It's fine."
Knock, knock, knock.
Just as she was about to say something else, another low knock sounded at the door. After a faint rustling noise, Wanda's voice came softly from outside.
"Fenris, are you asleep?"
"I saw that you seemed a little unhappy today..."
"Wanda?"
Fenris raised his brows and answered with amusement, "I'm asleep!"
"You're lying. How can you talk if you're asleep?"
The heavy wooden door was knocked open by a burst of scarlet energy, and Wanda walked in wearing dinosaur pajamas.
After passing through the hallway, she saw Emma and Fenris staring at her with interest. Her expression immediately stiffened.
She glanced at Emma's clothes. Unfortunately, the dinosaur hood on her own head chose that exact moment to slide down, perfectly covering half her face.
"Pfft!"
Fenris could not hold back and laughed out loud.
"Did you need something, Wanda?"
"No!"
"I... just came in to take a look?"
"Then, good night?"
"Fine, good night then!"
Wanda muttered quietly and turned to head outside, only to see a burly figure standing at the door at some unknown point.
"Emil, what are you doing here?"
Wanda rolled her eyes in annoyance and kicked his lower leg.
"Move. I'm going back to sleep."
Emil scratched his head. "I saw all of you coming here, so I wanted to come in and take a look too."
"Look at what? Come on."
Scarlet energy appeared out of thin air and actually pulled Emil into a stumble.
Emil turned around without caring at all, half-pulling the door as he winked at Fenris.
"Boss, call me if anything happens."
"Sweet dreams!"
Bang.
The door closed softly. Emil smiled in satisfaction and stretched long, about to turn around and get a proper night's sleep.
Then, from inside the room, he suddenly heard a massive explosive crash.
"That loud?"
Caught off guard, Emil flinched and tucked his neck in.
Boom!
Another sharp sound of shattering glass mixed with the roar of an engine exploded from inside the room. Feeling a wave of scorching heat rise, Emil gently wrinkled his nose. His footsteps halted.
In the next instant, he abruptly turned around, raised his foot, and kicked hard at the door.
Boom!
The solid wooden door, nearly ten centimeters thick, was kicked off its hinges and smashed to the floor, making the entire floor tremble faintly.
Emil quickly crossed the hallway. But the scene that entered his eyes made him frown at once.
The wide floor-to-ceiling window had somehow been smashed open with an enormous gap. Countless glass shards were falling from nearly a hundred stories above, and faint screams rose from outside.
The room, which had been decorated with extreme luxury moments ago, had already been reduced to wreckage. Countless expensive decorations and furnishings were burning with raging flames.
A particularly cool-looking motorcycle had somehow appeared in the center of the room. The seat was empty, but the engine was roaring on its own.
Bright flames burned on both wheels, and for some reason, they made Emil feel a faint pressure deep in his chest.
"What the hell is this thing?"
