Back at the pack house, after the botched wedding, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and the shouting of elders who had never tasted a day of battle. This is the meeting of the the elders, the pillars of the Clan... They are "The Order" .
This seven families are pillars of the community, the backbone, you hardly see them but they hold the power behind the scenes governing the territory and beyond. They have no leader but everything is decided by a vote and since their number is odd, they always reached an agreement. It's either you're for or against. You can never be neutral.
An argument ensures, an Original! an Original!! Living in our midst in plain sight all these years and none of you knew? Thalric's voice boomed, shaking the dust from the rafters as he slammed a fist onto the map.
An ominous silence followed. Orym, the Stone-Heart, didn't even look up from his folded hands. The question isn't who knew, but why General Klaus chose to keep his pet on such a long leash. So you knew?! Klaus why didn't you do anything about it?
Klaus looks at Drake the former Alpha and Kael with a bit of disappointment in his face.
Of course he knew, I told you they've been scheming, you told us the last of the originals was dead klaus? Answer me!
Klaus shifted under the weight of seven pairs of eyes. "The situation was under control," he hissed, his hand twitching toward his blade.
Gone not dead, that's what i said. The situation was under control.
Control? Vaelora gave a sharp, melodic laugh that sounded more like a bird of prey than a woman. She almost took off your head, General. Frankly, I wish she had. It would have saved us the trouble of this meeting.
That's ok, some of us knew the Original was alive, we gave general klaus the order to hunt her down and bring her back alive. Because as you all know we need that power to be able to have full control.
What control? we voted to end that line and destroy that power, what is going on? So you lot have been conniving behind our backs to seize power? Have you no dignity? Have you no shame?
So the three of you have been plotting for years to overthrow the order? You know we all came together to create this so chaos will not erupt and to keep control over a failing nation.
General klaus explain yourself right now!
We haunted and killed all of them as ordered but one escaped Mirah, she was pregnant and aided by the seers and let go by Finn the white wolf, she escaped into the dark forest and we thought there's no way she could survive it.
I put some surveillance on the remaining seers and she showed up a few weeks later. We don't know how she magically learnt magic in that few weeks spent in the dark forest, because she came back a formidable foe. She took out more than half the royal guard all while heavily pregnant.
She gave birth and stayed with the seers till we attacked again with reinforcement.
We tracked her back here to the ruins and never saw her again. But we believe she gave child to someone and we believe that child is Lyra.
Though Finn denied it and covered it up well but we've always had our suspicions. And since she couldn't transform for a very long time but we still kept close look on her because of her eyes.
So we told Drake to use his son to get close and eventually if they get married through the ruins ritual. She will still be ours to control, but Kael being too soft got carried away and forgot his duty to this Clan!
General Klaus slammed his fist onto the map, his voice a low growl as he blamed Kael's parents for the "witch-mutt's" escape. I told them we should have captured her and used Flynn to lure her in when she didn't know our intentions.
This was when Kael knew the Rio attack was orchestrated by general klaus.
The Order didn't just want my head; they wanted the "Gatekeeper's Eye" that they believed lived inside my mismatched pupils. With this power they will become unstoppable. The Order told Drake, it's either the girl or you!
Kael stood in the shadows of the hall, his expression a mask of stone as his own father ordered him to lead the Shadow Unit on a search-and-destroy mission. Kael has always felt something strange about his power, how it gets out of control at times, when Rio attacked and at the wedding. His father told him, the Originals are the source of their powers and that's how he became and Alpha and if he wants it to stay that way, he must get rid of the girl!
So he set out on a mission to either preserve their legacy or to destroy it.
But just before that he got an urgent message, it was coded and he knew who sent it exactly, it was an old friend.
