One question after another, each more obscure than the last.
Some weren't even part of the lesson.
Some were drawn from advanced topics.
Others were twisted in such a way that even understanding the question itself was difficult.
Yet, Li Fengyuan answered every single one.
By the end, it no longer felt like a test for Li Fengyuan. Rather it felt like Elder Wei was the one being pushed into a corner.
His expression had long since stiffened.
His confidence was… gone.
After another perfect answer from Li Fengyuan, Elder Wei froze.
(This can't be!)
He thought.
Silence filled the classroom once more.
Then Principal Gu spoke.
"Is that all?"
His tone was calm, but his gaze was meaningful.
Elder Wei paused.
For a brief moment, his lips parted as if he wanted to continue.
But no words came out.
"…Yes."
The answer was reluctant.
He had never felt this speechless in his life.
He thought he could easily make Li Fengyuan stumble.
Instead, it was he who could no longer come up with a question.
Even if he did, it would be useless even if Li Fengyuan couldn't answer it.
After all, he had already answered the others correctly, proving that he wasn't asleep in class.
Principal Gu stroked his white beard and nodded slowly.
He had been observing from the side the entire time.
Elder Wei's questions had grown increasingly bizarre. Far beyond what a student—or even a teacher—should be able to answer.
Yet Li Fengyuan answered them all flawlessly.
Even he was somewhat bewildered.
He had always thought that Li Fengyuan was just an arrogant troublemaker from a noble family, but now… he seemed to be an Array genius.
Principal Gu's gaze lingered on Li Fengyuan for a moment longer.
Then he turned to Elder Wei.
"Elder Wei," he said calmly, "are you satisfied?"
Elder Wei's expression darkened.
Satisfied?
How could he be satisfied?
But under the current situation, he had no choice.
"…I am."
The words were forced out with bitterness and unwillingness.
Principal Gu nodded.
"Then this matter shall end here. The lesson—"
But before he could finish—
"Wait!"
Li Fengyuan's voice rang out.
Principal Gu looked at him.
"What is it, student Li Fengyuan?"
He asked curiously.
"Principal Gu," he said, "shouldn't he apologize to me?"
Apologize?!
Elder Wei's face twisted instantly.
"Why?"
Elder Wei demanded angrily.
Li Fengyuan met his gaze without the slightest fear.
"For falsely reporting me."
He paused.
"And for lying. There are also other things, like intentionally targeting me and wasting my time…"
Li Fengyuan went on with countless accusations. It seemed like if you were to commit one fault, Li Fengyuan could turn it into hundreds.
But in any case, it was clear that Li Fengyuan wouldn't let go until Elder Wei apologized.
Principal Gu, while he knew that Li Fengyuan was exaggerating a few things, also knew that he was right in wanting an apology.
If Li Fengyuan hadn't been able to answer, he would have been punished.
But now that the situation was reversed, it made sense that Elder Wei should take responsibility.
Obviously, Principal Gu knew that Elder Wei wasn't someone who would apologize easily.
Not only was he from the esteemed Wei Clan, but he was also a famous Array Master, so apologizing to a student would be very difficult for him.
Elder Wei's face twisted with anger.
"Nonsense!" he snapped. "You're speaking absolute nonsense!"
The atmosphere turned tense once more.
But Li Fengyuan didn't react.
Instead, he looked at him calmly.
"Nonsense?"
He repeated.
Then he took a step forward.
"Then tell me, Elder Wei… what would have happened if I failed to answer your questions?"
Elder Wei froze.
Li Fengyuan's gaze shifted.
"Principal Gu," he said respectfully, "according to academy rules… what would have happened?"
Principal Gu stroked his beard.
His expression remained calm, but his answer was clear.
"If a student is found to be disruptive, disrespectful, and inattentive during a guest lecture…"
He paused briefly.
"Their parents may be notified, and depending on the severity, suspension is also possible."
Li Fengyuan nodded.
Then he looked back at Elder Wei.
"See?"
His voice was still calm but now, there was weight behind it.
"If I had failed… my parents would have been called. My reputation would have been further ruined. I could have even been suspended."
"And all of this—based on what? A false accusation!"
Silence!
Elder Wei's expression darkened further.
Elder Wei clenched his fists.
Li Fengyuan's gaze sharpened slightly.
"You tried to ruin me," he said calmly.
"You just failed. Is it really too much to ask for the same accountability? For someone who tried to frame me?"
Elder Wei opened his mouth, but no words came out.
He found himself unable to refute anything.
Everything Li Fengyuan said was true.
His expression twisted further.
Then, almost instinctively, his gaze shifted toward Principal Gu.
A silent appeal.
A hope.
But Principal Gu did not step in.
He simply stood there, calm and composed, as if he had no intention of interfering.
To him, the matter was simple.
If Elder Wei had been in the right, he would have upheld the academy's rules and punished Li Fengyuan without hesitation.
But now, Elder Wei has failed.
And Li Fengyuan's demand was not unreasonable.
Principal Gu slowly stroked his beard, his silence already speaking volumes.
Elder Wei's heart sank.
His jaw tightened.
His hands clenched within his sleeves.
"…You—"
He wanted to argue.
To twist the situation back in his favor.
But every path was blocked.
Under the gaze of the entire classroom, under the presence of the principal, there was no way out.
His face flushed slightly with suppressed anger.
Yet he still didn't apologize.
Instead, his eyes turned cold.
He stared directly at Li Fengyuan.
"You may have deceived everyone today," he said in a low voice, filled with resentment, "but the truth will come out eventually."
The words were sharp but hollow.
"So…" Li Fengyuan tilted his head slightly, a faint mocking smile on his lips, "you will apologize?"
Elder Wei's expression darkened even further.
"Hmph!"
He snorted coldly but he said nothing more.
No apology.
He simply turned his back.
"If this is how the academy treats its guests," he said coldly, "then there is no need for me to stay any longer."
His sleeves flicked.
"I will remember this!"
With those final words, he strode out of the classroom without looking back.
The door slammed shut behind him.
