The captain of the mercenaries, Gaden, stared down at Kyle.
"I have never seen you before. You are not one of my men." His hand moved to his sword hilt. "Who are you?"
Kyle's eyes flickered crimson.
"Answer me, or I will—"
"You must have forgotten, captain." Kyle smiled. "I'm just a mercenary with you guys."
Kyle's command was soft, but absolute. It sank into Gaden's mind like a stone into still water.
The captain blinked. His hand slowly released the sword hilt. His brow furrowed slightly, as if he were trying to remember something just out of reach.
"Yes... I remember now." His voice was uncertain. "You are with us... Your name was...?"
Kyle hesitated for only a moment.
"Kyle."

Kyle was planning to change his identity and name to avoid the Zodiac and any other trouble. But it was too late. Serahina already knew it. If he used a different name now, it would only create more suspicion.
