Chapter 9 - The Price Must Be Paid

The moment their eyes fell on him, their expressions changed slightly. They immediately stepped forward before cupping their fists respectfully.

"Greetings, Senior Brother!"

Xiao Feng stopped.

For a brief moment, he was slightly stunned. Senior Brother?

His status had been changing far too quickly lately. But he quickly regained his composure and looked at the two of them.

"Who are you?" he asked calmly.

The two young men straightened slightly before replying, "We were sent here by Elder Zhou. From today onward, we will assist Senior Brother in managing this mountain peak."

Hearing this, Xiao Feng immediately understood.

In the sect, it was common for disciples with higher status to be assigned helpers.

So that they would not need to waste time on trivial matters such as maintaining the residence or handling daily chores.

After all, time was the most valuable resource for cultivators.

He nodded slightly.

"How many of you assigned here?"

"Five in total," one of them replied.

Xiao Feng stepped into the residence.

The main hall was spacious and quiet, with everything arranged neatly.

He took a seat calmly. Not long after, footsteps sounded from outside and three more people entered.

Xiao Feng's gaze swept across them.

The two he had seen outside were clearly menial disciples, both at the higher stages of Qi Refining. Their auras steady and not weak among their peers.

However, his attention soon shifted to the other three.

Two of them wore inner disciple robes.

The first stepped forward slightly and cupped his fists.

"Senior Brother, I am Liu Wen, from Medicine Peak. I specialize in herb planting and am currently a second-rank alchemist."

His tone was respectful.

The second also stepped forward.

"Senior Brother, I am Zhao Ming. I am skilled in both medicine cultivation and basic beast taming."

Both of them had reached the True Spirit Realm, their cultivation clearly above that of ordinary disciples.

Xiao Feng nodded slightly.

Their presence made sense.

Since this place would involve alchemy in the future, having people familiar with herbs was naturally beneficial.

But what surprised him most, was the the last person. The moment he saw her, his eyes narrowed.

Huo Xiu, the same person he had encountered in the Administrative Hall yesterday.

At this moment, her expression was completely different from before. The previous indifference and faint arrogance had disappeared.

In its place was restraint and a trace of unease.

She stepped forward slowly and cupped her fists.

"Senior Brother… I am Huo Xiu, from the Fourth Peak.

I specialize in array refining and am a second-rank array master. My cultivation is at the seventh stage of the True Spirit Realm."

Her voice was steady, but not as confident as before.

Xiao Feng looked at her quietly.

Within a single day, the situation had completely changed.

He didn't know that the news of him becoming the personal disciple of Elder Shi Bodong, had already spread throughout the sect. His identity was no longer something that could be ignored.

For Huo Xiu, this was something she had never expected.

How could she have known that the seemingly ordinary young man she had dismissed so casually yesterday.

Would turn out to be the disciple of the most prominent alchemist in the sect?

Even now, a faint sense of regret lingered in her heart.

Xiao Feng's expression remained calm. He did not show any obvious reaction.

His gaze swept across all five of them once more.

"Since you have been assigned here," he said slowly, "then handle your respective duties properly. The mountain peak is large enough, and there is much to be done."

"Yes, Senior Brother," they replied in unison.

Liu Wen and Zhao Ming exchanged a glance before stepping back respectfully.

The two menial disciples also lowered their heads and withdrew, clearly understanding their roles.

They all knew why they were here.

Partly because of Xiao Feng's current status, but more importantly, because of his potential.

As the personal disciple of Elder Shi Bodong, the number one alchemist of the sect, his future in alchemy was almost guaranteed to be extraordinary.

Especially for those from Medicine Peak, this was an opportunity.

If they could learn even a little from him in the future, it would be more valuable than years of ordinary cultivation.

Soon, only Huo Xin remained standing there, her fingers unconsciously tightening within her sleeves.

For a moment, she hesitated before taking a slow breath and stepped forward.

"Senior Brother," Her voice was softer than before. "please forgive me about my earlier disrespectful behavior.."

Xiao Feng looked at her with a indifferent expressions.

"Oh?" he said lightly. "But why are you apologizing from some nobody like me?"

His words were casual, but they struck directly at her pride.

Huo Xin's expression stiffened for a brief moment, but she quickly suppressed it. She lowered her head slightly, her posture becoming more yielding.

She said quietly. "I was blind before."

Then, with a trace of determination, she added, "As long as Senior Brother is willing… I am willing to make amends."

Xiao Feng's eyes flickered faintly.

"Make amends?" he repeated, a playful smile forming at the corner of his lips. "And how far are you willing to go?"

Her breath caught for just a second.

But she didn't retreat.

"As long as I can gain Senior Brother's favor…" she said, her voice dropping even lower, "I am willing to pay the price."

The air seemed to grow slightly heavier.

Xiao Feng studied her for a moment— her youthful beauty, with long black hair, her skin was as pure as jade, with a round, graceful face.

Her delicate body had few curves, her tight Qipao hugging every inch of her figure, falling between her thighs and revealing her pure white skin.

Then he chuckled softly. "You said that yourself?"

Before she could fully process his tone, his hand suddenly reached out.

A sharp gasp escaped her lips as she was pulled forward, her balance instantly lost.

In the next moment, she found herself seated on his lap.

"Senior Brother—!" Her body tensed, instinctively trying to push against him, her hands pressing against his chest.

But how could Xiao Feng let her go from his paws.

Instead, his grip remained firm, steady, as if her struggle held no real weight.

Huo Xin's breathing became uneven.

A trace of panic flickered through her eyes.

However, just when she was about to use her superior cultivation to break free from his grips, a devilish voice heard in her ear.

"If you go from your place, you will directly go down to this mountain peak, with no chance of come back!"

This made her movement stop on her place.

Her fingers slowly loosened against his chest. The resistance that had been there moments ago quietly disappeared.

Xiao Feng's gaze lingered on her, unhurried, almost appreciative, as if examining something that now belonged within his reach.

Feeling his profound gaze upon her, she lowered her eyes.

Her body went rigid, her hands instinctively pressing against Xiao Feng's chest. As if trying to push herself away—but the strength behind it was faint, almost symbolic.

"Senior Brother… this isn't appropriate…" Her voice was unsteady, lacking any real force.

Xiao Feng didn't release her.

Instead, his arm tightened slightly around her waist, locking her in place with effortless ease.

"You brought this on your own." His tone carrying an undeniable pressure.

"I…" she started, but the words caught in her throat.

His eyes looking at her with a raw intensity and she felt a surge of stared by primal beast, that want to devour her.

It was not until she broke their eye contact, she realized that his hand pressing against her thighs from the slightly opened slit of her dress.

But before she stop his hand movement, he leaned close to her ear to sniff the fragrance, and gently bit her snow-white ear.

"Ahhmm~"

Her delicate body trembled; she nervously grabbed her skirt and closed her eyes slightly.

But he didn't let her sink in the pleasure. Instead, his hand slid up to her thighs and began to touch her sensitive area with his fingers.

"You don't sound like someone being punished." he whispered in low voice. "This isn't how you apologize."

Huo Xin felt shame wash over her, but somehow his hands triggering all of her weak spots. A faint flush crept up her neck, spreading to her cheeks.

"Senior Brother…"

Her hands, which had been pushing against him, gradually lost their strength. As if she no longer knew whether she should resist… or accept.

Xiao Feng's lips curved slightly.

"Let me show you what punishment means."

Suddenly his hand gripped her hair tightly, he pushed her on her knee, bringing her face down to his bulging. "Prove your sincerity"

"N-no! How can I do that?! I have..."

She couldn't help but panicked upon hearing his command. But before she could explain her, his grip tighten in her hair.

Forcing her to look in her eyes, he sneered with disdain. His eyes gleaming with malevolent amusement.

"You were just grinding your body onto me in the most lascivious way. Do you really think you can act innocent now?"

"I-I did not mean-"

"Of course, you do. Even if you don't, you are not in condition to reject it."

Her stunning face flushed with shame and embarrassment.

She is one of the most beautiful female disciples among the inner disciples. Countless young masters had tried to win her favor.

Some she entertained for some benefits, many she rejected without hesitation. However, she never let cross boundaries with her.

But now—

the situation was entirely different.
