Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: I Should Look Away..But I Don't

Yujin's pov:

Midnight..

My eyes fluttered open…

But to my surprise, I wasn't on the couch.

I was in the bed.

Covered in warm blankets.

My heart started racing.

Did he..did he sleep beside me?

Slowly, I turned my head.

Empty.

Confusion settled in… until my gaze shifted toward the couch.

There he was.

Sleeping.

Even from here, I could tell the couch wasn't comfortable—not for someone with his broad frame.

Did he carry me to the bed…?

Did he sleep there… for me?

I stared at him for a while.

He looked… peaceful.

Soft.

Not like the dangerous man I had seen days ago.

A small smile crept onto my lips.

"...Thank you, sir," I whispered quietly—to myself more than anyone else.

Time skip- Morning

Before I realized it, I had fallen asleep again.

When I opened my eyes, sunlight was already spilling into the room.

Morning.

I quickly looked toward the couch.

Empty.

He had already left for work.

A strange disappointment crept into my chest.

Why…?

I should feel relieved that he's gone..

But why you feel.. empty, Yujin?

The entire day passed slowly.

Knitting.

Scrolling.

Cleaning—even though he told me not to.

Just to pass time.

Ting.

A notification lit up my phone.

I glanced at it and opened the message—

Scene cuts..

Author's pov:

6 PM.

Taehyuk finally returned home.

His steps were quick, instinctively searching.

"Yujin?" he called out.

"Sir?" Yujin appeared from the hallway.

His face brightened the moment he saw Taehyuk—though he quickly tried to hide it.

"Sir, I—"

"Get ready," Taehyuk cut him off.

No explanation.

No softness.

Just command.

"For what, sir? Where are we going?" Yujin asked, a hint of eagerness slipping through.

"To a party."

Party..?

Yujin frowned slightly.

I don't like parties…

"But sir, I don't—"

"I said get ready."

Silence.

"…Fine, sir."

He turned to leave.

"Wait."

Yujin stopped immediately. "Yes, sir?"

"Don't you have formal clothes?" Taehyuk asked, raising a brow.

Yujin hesitated.

"No…"

His voice dropped, eyes lowering in embarrassment.

Taehyuk stared at him for a moment.

"Fine. I'll have my guards buy you something."

"But—what?" Yujin's eyes widened.

"What?" Taehyuk asked, unimpressed.

"I… I'm not used to wearing formal clothes. I've never worn a suit before. It's not… my thing."

"Then what are you planning to wear?" Taehyuk leaned against the closet.

"Uh… maybe a white shirt…"

"Whatever. If it doesn't look good on you, I'll make you wear what I choose. Got it?"

Yujin nodded immediately.

He picked out a shirt… then hesitated.

"…Why are you still standing there?" Taehyuk asked.

"Uh… you're here, sir."

A faint blush spread across Yujin's face.

Taehyuk blinked.

"Oh—

Right."

Embarrassed..

He stepped out.

Taehyuk's pov:

I paced while talking on the phone, discussing business.

Then—

Click.

The door opened.

I turned.

And froze.

The voice on the phone kept calling my name…

But I couldn't hear anything.

All I could see was—

Yujin.

In that white shirt.

The first two buttons undone.

Soft pale-brown hair falling over his forehead.

Those blue, doe-like eyes.

The shirt hugged his lean body perfectly.

"…Aish."

The word slipped out under my breath.

This brat..

"Is this okay, sir?" he asked, stepping closer.

Okay?

It's far more than ok..

I forced my expression to stay neutral.

"Yeah… it's fine."

Liar.

Even my own mind mocked me

You are terrible liar I ever seen, Taehyuk

I scolded myself..

Then..

"Can we go?" I asked.

"Y-Yes, sir."

I walked out first.

But something caught my attention.

He looked… happier than usual.

Why?

I unlocked the car.

"Get in."

I didn't open the door for him.

That's not something I do.

But—

He opened the door for me instead.

I frowned slightly.

Why is he look so happy today?

The question lingered.

The engine roared to life.

As I drove, my eyes drifted to the rearview mirror.

And there he was—

Smiling to himself.
