"Ouch, Shelly, can you loosen your grip around my neck? It's starting to hurt."
Shelly tightened her grip around Rin at his words and her nails left deep marks on Rin's skin. Those marks hurt but Shelly was starting to look better so Rin allowed her to continue.
He waited until Shelly was satisfied and he finally pulled away from the hug and so Shelly could face him.
Her face still looked red, but it was much healthier now. Her breathing had also calmed down and she was starting to look around.
"Rin, did I do a good job out there? Can you tell me that I did well??"
Looking at Shelly right now reminded Rin of Myth. They both demanded praise in the same way.
Rin was used to Shelly's lack of confidence and he reached out to gently pat Shelly's head.
"You did a good job. I know it must have been tough to fight those monsters, but you did an amazing job out there."
Rin assured Shelly and her eyes shone with joy. She wrapped her arms around Rin's middle and pulled him into a hug.
