Chapter 54 - Convergence

"Be confident, it's definitely not feasible."

Kai waved his hand.

What a joke, if Dvalin, with his size, flew to Mondstadt.

If things went smoothly, it would be fine.

But if something went wrong and he suddenly went berserk and attacked Mondstadt.

Then things would really be troublesome.

Last time, that guy just casually circled around twice.

And released some strong winds with the power of the Temple of the Four Winds.

It directly left Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, in a frantic state.

Even Kai, out of helplessness.

Chose to personally step in and help handle state affairs.

Under these circumstances… if you let Dvalin do it again, Kai would definitely put on a show of a dragon slayer on the spot.

"And once an accident occurs, allowing the residents of Mondstadt to witness their former Four Winds Guardian going berserk, it's clearly not a good thing."

The Four Winds, in a sense, are probably also the faith of the people of Mondstadt, their status second only to Barbatos, who founded Mondstadt.

Not long ago, Stormterror's attack on Mondstadt had already caused great mental trauma to the city's residents. If such a thing were to happen again.

It is feared that even the other three Four Winds would be greatly questioned, and their faith might even collapse on the spot.

The Dragon of the East, who had protected Mondstadt for a thousand years, suddenly chose to become an enemy of all Mondstadt—such a change in identity.

No one would be able to easily accept it.

"Kai is right."

Jean nodded in agreement.

"If it goes smoothly, that's one thing, but if the purification fails and Dvalin rampages through the city, harming the residents of Mondstadt, I'm afraid everything will truly be irreversible..."

"As the Acting Grand Master of the Favonius Knights, I would then have no choice but to hunt him down."

"Otherwise, Snezhnaya would absolutely not miss this opportunity to exert diplomatic pressure."

As the Lion of the South, one of the Four Winds, to hunt down another of the Four Winds, and one who has guarded Mondstadt for a thousand years, Dvalin.

Such a decision, for Jean, was clearly not easy to make.

"Dawn Winery could work. While it would be a bit regrettable if it were destroyed should we fail, it wouldn't be an irreparable loss."

Diluc was wealthy and powerful. Although he didn't get along with the Knights of Favonius, when facing Stormterror and Mondstadt, their positions were clearly consistent.

"While I appreciate Master Diluc's kindness, I actually have a more suitable place."

"Where?"

Paimon's eyes widened with curiosity, clearly very interested.

"Hmm~ The sea breeze and the high winds can carry a Bard's song even further."

Barbatos shook his head, smiling as he kept them in suspense.

"After all, if the air is too dry and stuffy, let alone a Bard, even a dragon would get angry, right?"

When you say that, you really sound like an authentic Bard.

Kai couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

It's hard to say if this guy is a qualified Archon, but as a Bard... winning three consecutive Mondstadt Bard championships certainly wasn't just talk.

"Sea breeze... or high winds?"

Jean murmured to herself, pondering for a moment.

Suddenly, something came to mind.

"If those are the conditions, there's a place that should be able to meet them very well."

"Starsnatch Cliff?"

Kai almost instinctively blurted out the name of the place.

Seeing the gazes around him instantly focus on him, he lightly coughed twice: "Um, it's not far from Starfell Lake... I just remembered it because I looked at the map these past few days."

Don't ask me why I coughed, and don't ask why Jean suddenly blushed. Would I casually mention that's where I proposed back then?

"Starsnatch Cliff..."

"Hehe, that's not a bad place."

Barbatos nodded with satisfaction. Although he was a bit negligent as an Archon, he clearly knew all the suitable places for Bards within Mondstadt.

"Originally, I was going to recommend Starsnatch Cliff, as the Anemo energy there is quite abundant, and Dvalin should like it."

"But Starsnatch Cliff is also a good choice. The gentle sea breeze... isn't it very suitable for a Bard to sing?"

How could the Anemo energy at Starsnatch Cliff not be abundant?

Didn't the Anemo Hypostasis live there? It's estimated that as Anemo Archon Barbatos, he would also get a bonus there, considering it would be easy to escape if things went wrong, right?

Kai felt a bit helpless as he complained, easily figuring out Barbatos's thoughts.

"But speaking of which... what exactly is the Fatui's purpose in coming to Mondstadt? Stealing the Holy Lyre der Himmel, did they guess our intentions and want to stop our plan in advance?"

However, just as Kai was complaining, Paimon suddenly remembered this matter and couldn't help but ask. The Fatui's true purpose... at least from the current situation, was still a mystery.

Although Diluc had managed to deal with quite a few lone Fatui members using his own methods, he couldn't obtain any deeper intelligence.

"Perhaps it's the power of The Anemo Archon?"

Diluc thought for a moment and roughly gave an answer.

"This makes me recall a past competition with the Fatui. About half a year ago, some Treasure Hoarders dug up a sealed vial containing the aura of The Anemo Archon in the Dragon of the East ruins of the Temple of the Four Winds."

"After the Fatui learned of the news, they began a large-scale tug-of-war with me in secret. They produced many fake vials and circulated them in the black market, and I retaliated in the same way."

"We each bought the fakes produced by the other, hoping to find that one genuine vial among them. Although there has been no winner so far... and it's impossible for there to be a winner, it certainly earned me a lot of money."

"Eh? How can you make money by buying fake goods from each other?"

Paimon was stunned, not quite understanding.

"Because the fakes I produced were usually sold at prices higher than the market, and occasionally I would fabricate origins for them, or send people to openly snatch those fakes."

"So, to avoid missing the genuine article, even if the Fatui noticed the glaring loopholes, they could only grit their teeth and buy them."

At this point, Diluc couldn't help but glance at Kai.

"It's worth mentioning that the genuine vial was actually bought by Kai long ago."

"The method was also taught by Kai."

"Wow, so Kai also schemes against people."

Paimon was startled.

Suddenly hearing this outcome, she looked sharply at Kai.

She clearly hadn't expected Kai to do such a thing.

"How can scheming against the Fatui be called scheming?"

"This is for the benefit of Mondstadt."

Kai waved his hand, his face full of righteous indignation.

"However, regarding the Fatui's true purpose, I do have a general guess..."

After a moment of thought, Kai looked up and said seriously: "I don't think their purpose is the so-called power of The Anemo Archon. To make a bold guess,"

"Their purpose should be... The Anemo Archon himself."

"Barbatos!"
