The opulent chamber was thick with the scent of arousal and the sound of wet, obscene kisses. Rosalinda sat hunched on her bed, her spine bent into a sharp 'C' shape, her face buried against her own crotch.

"I can do this!" she gasped, forcing herself to sit up. Her legs were weak and unsteady as she slid them off the side of the bed, her bare feet touching the cold floor.

She fixed her clothing and checked, everything was in place as she stood, swaying precariously, the metal cage a heavy, unfamiliar weight between her thighs. Her first few steps were stumbling, clumsy things.

She made her way to the door and pulled it open, just as a maid was walking past. "H-hello…" Rosalinda said, her voice a shaky whisper.

She gave a small, awkward wave, her other hand pressed against the wall for support. The maid paused, her eyes widening slightly in surprise.

She simply gave a quick nod and a murmured, "Your Highness," before continuing on her way, dismissing the strange encounter from her mind.

'She never greets anybody,' the maid thought, a flicker of confusion on her face. But she quickly schooled her expression into neutrality.

It wasn't her place to question the nobility. She had never once been greeted by the third princess.

Rosalinda watched her go, leaning against the doorframe, a sheen of sweat on her brow.

Deep within the palace, Ysabel stood as still and stoic as a statue, her steel spear held at a perfect angle beside her. Her eyes, sharp and focused, scanned the empty corridor ahead, her posture a model of disciplined vigilance.

A smaller figure, silent and fleet-footed, slipped into the corridor behind her. It scurried along the wall, a shadow against the stone, its head darting left and right to ensure the coast was clear.

Satisfied, it crept up to the armored guard. With a mischievous smirk, the figure reached out and tapped Ysabel lightly on her left shoulder.

In a flash, Ysabel spun around, her spear twitching, but there was no one there. Her brow furrowed in confusion.

Another tap, this time on her right shoulder, made her whip her head in that direction. "What in the—?"

"Surprise!" a bright voice chimed.

Caelith rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Ysabel's waist, burying her face against the cold, metal breastplate of the armor.

"Caelith?! What are you doing here?" Ysabel whispered, her voice a mix of surprise and frustration.

She couldn't help but glance nervously down the corridor, her training kicking in despite the familiar embrace.

"Don't worry, no one is here but us," Caelith murmured, her words muffled by the steel as she held the taller woman even tighter.
