Morning sunlight spilled through the floor to ceiling windows of Harrison Group's executive floor, washing the conference room in soft gold. Outside, the city buzzed with its usual confidence. Inside, however, an unusual calm settled over the room.
Peter stood before the digital screen, reviewing the final proposal for the company's expansion into Southeast Asia. Several senior executives sat around the long polished table, each waiting for his decision.
Without lifting his eyes from the presentation, Peter spoke.
"I want another opinion."
The directors exchanged uncertain glances.
Peter rarely asked for opinions.
When he did, it was usually from executives with decades of experience.
Instead, he turned toward the back of the room.
"Caro."
Every head turned.
Caro, who had quietly been taking notes beside the wall as instructed, looked up in surprise.
"Me?"
Peter nodded once.
"You've been studying this project for three weeks."
"Tell us what we're missing."
