"What about?" He asked as he took a step toward her.
Maya blinked as she stared up at him. His green eyes sparkled, and she could see the emerald necklace peeking out of his shirt.
She wondered if she was supposed to be scared in this scenario but it was hard to be when he was still holding her so gently.
"We are going to your room," she mumbled as she kept her gaze locked on the necklace.
"And that's enough to make you happy?"
His tone bothered her. He was clearly prying for something and she wished he would just tell her what it was. Perhaps she might be able to better explain if she knew.
She shut her eyes, feeling her heart beat loudly. "Yes," she mumbled.
How did he elicit such a reaction from her? Her entire body tingled with him standing close enough that she wouldn't have to take a step forward to lean against him.
