Kotoamatsukami is a Mangekyou Sharingan technique with an extremely long cooldown normally measured in decades, unless modified through special means like Hashirama cells.
In theory, the original user, Uchiha Shisui, could bypass some of those limitations depending on conditions, but Chinatsu's body situation is different from both Shisui and standard Uchiha physiology. With her unusual chakra reserves and the changes brought by her Mangekyou evolution, she estimated the cooldown would not be as extreme as recorded.
And if the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan truly stabilizes ocular techniques… then the cooldown might reset or shorten further. Probably.
Still, hesitation lingered in her mind.
Use it? Or save it?
Chinatsu clicked her tongue internally.
"What am I even hesitating for…? If I keep holding back like this, I'll just end up wasting opportunities. You don't catch a wolf without risking the cub."
Decision made.
She would use Kotoamatsukami.
Better to convert two Akatsuki members immediately than preserve a theoretical advantage.
With a single thought, the Susanoo skeleton pinning Hidan slowly rose.
Hidan's body dropped forward onto the ground with a dull thud.
He lay there for a moment before pushing himself up, his face smeared with dirt and dust. His expression twisted with rage as he glared at Chinatsu.
He tried to speak but his mouth was still full of soil from earlier restraint, forcing him to swallow his anger instead of words.
Still, the killing intent in his eyes was unmistakable. If looks alone could kill, Chinatsu would have been torn apart instantly.
Chinatsu sighed lightly.
"Talking to him is pointless."
This one… had to be controlled directly.
"Kotoamatsukami."
She closed her eyes slightly, and the three tomoe in her right eye rotated rapidly before collapsing into the distinct pattern of the Mangekyou Sharingan.
The ability activated.
Silent infiltration of consciousness began.
Hidan's pupils lost focus.
His mind shattered and rewrote itself without resistance.
In his altered memory, Chinatsu was no longer an enemy.
She was his master.
A young lady he had served since childhood.
Someone he respected absolutely, without question.
In this rewritten world, Hidan remembered a lifetime of loyalty protecting her, obeying her, and eventually "falling into the Jashin cult" only temporarily before being guided back under her influence.
And through it all, Chinatsu remained the one constant kind, untouchable, above him.
That was the terrifying nature of Kotoamatsukami.
No violence.
No resistance.
Only perfect belief replacement.
When the technique ended, Chinatsu immediately covered her right eye.
A sharp, burning pain radiated through her optic nerve.
No blood, but the strain was real.
"Tch… a cooldown of maybe one to two years? Faster than expected. If pushed forcibly… I could activate it again before recovery… but a normal Mangekyou would go blind doing that."
She exhaled slowly.
"Good thing I'm already on the path to Eternal Mangekyou…"
She steadied herself.
Hidan stood still, blinking.
Then his expression softened completely.
"Ow… my head hurts… Miss… you really are strong. I lost."
His tone had changed completely.
No hostility. No madness. Only acceptance.
To him now, the battle had simply been a demonstration of Chinatsu's superiority.
Kakuzu, watching from a distance, was silent.
His mind raced.
Wood Release.
Susanoo.
And now this… mind-altering ocular genjutsu.
Kakuzu's instincts screamed danger, but more importantly profit logic activated.
He exhaled slowly.
"…Join your side?"
A pause.
"Salary better be acceptable. Otherwise I'll defect again."
He relaxed his Earth Grudge Fear threads, stepping out of combat stance entirely.
At the same time, Hidan's brainwashing fully stabilized.
He looked up with clear eyes.
"My lady… I apologize for earlier behavior. I am unworthy."
Kakuzu glanced at him once, then looked away.
Too far gone.
He already understood what this was.
Chinatsu stepped back slightly, positioning herself between the two.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Hidan. Kakuzu. I have a request."
Hidan immediately straightened.
"Anything, my lady! Assassination, infiltration, destruction just say it!"
Kakuzu followed shortly after.
"Speak."
"You are my superior now."
Chinatsu nodded slightly in satisfaction.
Good.
Phase one complete.
Two Akatsuki members secured.
Even if they were only part of the organization, this was still a clean infiltration step.
Now
Phase two begins.
"You two will help introduce me into Akatsuki."
She raised a finger.
"But do it naturally. No obvious recruitment. No mentioning my real identity. Create a fake identity for me."
Hidan quickly pulled out a notebook and began writing enthusiastically.
"Yes, yes! Understood!"
Kakuzu sighed.
"…Understood."
Chinatsu continued calmly.
"Once there's progress, contact me through carrier method."
Hidan nodded seriously.
Kakuzu didn't ask questions.
Meanwhile
Far away, inside a sealed chamber connected to the Rinnegan's control system, Nagato suddenly paused.
His chakra output wavered slightly.
The Six Paths of Pain across distant locations all briefly desynchronized.
"Something… feels off."
Konan turned toward him immediately.
"Nagato?"
"I'm fine…" he replied weakly. "Just… a strange sensation."
His thin body remained attached to the mechanical support device, the source of his life support and chakra amplification.
The Rinnegan in his eyes pulsed faintly.
Nagato Uzumaki the true controller of Akatsuki's Six Paths of Pain regained focus.
Konan, standing beside him, watched quietly.
The only woman in Akatsuki, known as "Angel," folded another stack of explosive tags carefully.
360 billion prepared.
Her voice softened slightly.
"You should rest more."
"I can't," Nagato replied. "For our dream… peace cannot wait."
Konan lowered her eyes.
"…I hope it arrives soon."
Outside, the world continued turning.
And somewhere far away, Chinatsu had already placed a crack inside Akatsuki without anyone realizing it.
