Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 21

Chapter 21: The Tsundere Sasuke

There are seven fundamental chakra natures recognized in the shinobi world:

Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Water, Yin, and Yang.

Among them, the five basic nature transformations—Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Water—are the most commonly used in ninjutsu, while Yin and Yang relate more to spiritual and physical energy respectively.

When two chakra natures are combined at a high level, a special transformation may occur, forming what is known as a Kekkei Genkai.

The Sharingan of the Uchiha clan is one such Kekkei Genkai, derived from Yin Release and tied to their unique bloodline.

However, Kekkei Genkai are extremely rare. Even within the Uchiha clan, not every member can awaken the Sharingan—it usually manifests under intense emotional stimulation.

Within Konohagakure, there are only a handful of known Kekkei Genkai. While the Sharingan is currently the most well-known, there once existed an even more legendary power during the Warring States Period—

Wood Release.

A unique ability possessed by the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama, allowing him to combine Earth and Water chakra natures to create life itself.

Unlike typical Kekkei Genkai passed down through bloodlines, Wood Release is considered a rare mutation tied specifically to Hashirama's cells, and no one else in history naturally possessed it to the same extent.

And at this moment—

A small sprout had emerged from the chakra paper in Chinatsu's hand.

"…Wood Release?"

Chinatsu stared at the paper in disbelief.

"The First Hokage's power…? No, that doesn't make sense. Wood Release isn't something ordinary shinobi can inherit. Even among the Senju, it wasn't a common trait… And my chakra nature should only be Fire, Lightning, and Wind…"

Her thoughts became increasingly tangled.

This unease—

Without realizing it, Chinatsu increased the flow of chakra into the paper.

The reaction intensified.

More sprouts appeared, growing rapidly until the chakra paper itself was completely overtaken and consumed by the manifestation.

"Sister? Sister?"

"…Ah… it's nothing."

Chinatsu raised a hand to her forehead, forcing herself to calm down.

There were too many unknowns.

Since she couldn't figure it out now—then she simply wouldn't think about it for the time being.

After all, before transmigrating, she had only been an ordinary person. Not some genius like Nara Shikamaru, nor a researcher like Orochimaru.

Still—

Wood Release…

That was something she would definitely need to investigate further.

But for now, her priority was the two children in front of her.

Taking a deep breath, Chinatsu quickly adjusted her state of mind.

One of the greatest advantages of being a transmigrator was possessing knowledge of future events. As long as she acted carefully, she could avoid unnecessary risks.

Turning back to Naruto and Sasuke, she resumed her explanation.

"Sasuke's chakra nature is Fire and Lightning, both of which suit the Uchiha clan's combat style. As for Naruto…"

She paused briefly before continuing.

"Your chakra nature is Wind Release. Among all nature transformations, Wind is known for its cutting power and range. It's difficult to master, but once controlled, it becomes extremely lethal."

This was entirely consistent with Naruto's future development, especially his mastery of Wind Release techniques like the Rasenshuriken.

To the two boys, this knowledge was completely new.

Sasuke clenched his fists tightly, his eyes filled with determination.

Chinatsu had already prepared a training plan for him—focused on chakra control, Fire Release basics, and eventually Lightning Release.

As long as he followed it step by step, his growth would be steady and efficient.

Just as Sasuke was about to speak, he suddenly noticed—

Naruto hadn't received anything.

Sasuke frowned slightly.

With his understanding of his sister, there was no way she would overlook something like this.

He glanced sideways at Naruto.

Naruto, on the other hand, looked up nervously at Chinatsu, clearly worried about being treated differently.

The atmosphere grew tense for a brief moment.

Then—

Chinatsu placed her hand gently on Naruto's head.

"As for your training… well~ since Sasuke has already built a foundation, Naruto, you need to start with the basics."

She smiled lightly.

"Master the Academy's Three Basic Techniques first—Transformation Technique, Substitution Technique, and especially the Clone Technique. And after that… you'll move on to the Shadow Clone Technique."

The Shadow Clone Technique was no ordinary jutsu.

Unlike the basic Clone Technique—which creates intangible illusions—Shadow Clones are physical entities, dividing the user's chakra evenly among each clone.

Without proper chakra control, it would be extremely difficult to use.

This wasn't discrimination.

It was simply the most suitable path for Naruto.

"Anyway… do your best."

"Yeah!!!"

Naruto's eyes lit up instantly, his spirit ignited.

Although he had repeatedly failed at the basic techniques before, this time—

Things were different.

Naruto clenched his fists.

I can do it! I can do it! I can definitely do it!

With explosive energy, he rushed toward the open training ground within the Uchiha compound.

Seeing this, Sasuke snorted lightly and ran off as well.

Even though they trained in the same area, the two instinctively kept their distance—one to the left, one to the right.

"Naruto: AAAAAH!!!"

"Sasuke: HAAAAH!!!"

Their voices echoed as they trained, their determination blazing like fire.

Watching them, Chinatsu smiled faintly.

Competition between them… wasn't a bad thing.

In fact, it might be the fastest way for both of them to grow.

With that thought, she turned and returned to her room.

Closing her eyes, Chinatsu began to carefully sense her chakra.

Fire.

Lightning.

Wind.

These matched her original expectations.

But then—

Water.

Earth.

"…So I really do have them."

Her brows furrowed slightly.

The more she examined her body, the more abnormal it seemed.

If this were later in the timeline, she might have suspected the involvement of Hashirama's cells—something Orochimaru would eventually experiment with.

And if that were true…

Then her regenerative ability—and now this Wood Release—would make sense.

Time passed quickly.

Before long, night had fallen.

Even then, Naruto had yet to leave the Uchiha compound.

Not because he intended to stay—

But because both he and Sasuke had completely lost track of time while training.

"Damn it! Damn it! Why can't I do it?!"

Puffs of white smoke filled the air.

Naruto attempted the Clone Technique repeatedly—

But each clone that appeared was either malformed or completely unstable, collapsing almost instantly.

His chakra output was too large and unrefined.

Gasping for breath, Naruto clenched his teeth.

Just as he was about to force himself to continue—

A hand pressed down on his shoulder.

"You idiot. Training like that will just waste chakra."

Sasuke spoke coldly, turning his head slightly.

"I didn't plan to help you… but you're too hopeless to watch."

A textbook tsundere response.

Naruto grinned widely.

"Thanks, Sasuke!"

And so—

Under Sasuke's reluctant guidance, Naruto continued practicing late into the night.

By dawn—

Around 5 a.m.

The two lay sprawled on the ground.

Naruto was fast asleep, completely exhausted.

Sasuke, on the other hand, looked pale, his chakra nearly depleted.

"…Teaching him the Shadow Clone Technique… was too reckless…"

Muttering weakly, Sasuke turned his head—

And fell asleep.

The result of today's "battle"—

Sasuke's complete defeat.
