The Maybach glided into the underground garage of Nina's apartment building, its powerful engine finally humming down into total silence.
Lucas unbuckled his seatbelt, unlocked the doors, and stepped out into the cool concrete space. He walked around to Nina's side, opening her door before she could even touch the handle. He gestured toward the elevator bay with a slight tilt of his head.
"Lead the way, princess."
Nina stepped out, rolling her eyes so hard it nearly gave her a headache. "You know, if you call me 'princess' one more time, I might actually throw up on your very expensive shoes."
"They're custom Italian leather, so please refrain," Lucas murmured, walking right alongside her, his long, casual strides matching her shorter ones. "And 'princess' suits you. You have the drama down to an absolute science."
