The storm outside the Savoy had reached a fever pitch, but the rain wasn't what made the reporters tremble. The presence of the man moving through the lobby like a force of nature, that was what set their hands shaking.
"Stop talking nonsense," one veteran reporter hissed at his junior colleague, who stammered about circulating rumors. "Who could he possibly be here for? Have you ever seen Lucas Grant with anyone beyond his immediate bloodline? The man is a fortress unto himself. I heard he doesn't even bother with women… prefers the company of his boardrooms or, you know... other interests." The reporter's voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper, as if Grant himself might materialize from the shadows to silence him.
