Chapter 104 - Chapter 104 Schemes

Carly's eyes lit up, and an idea came to her.

Since the fat man can't read, let him deliver the letter and write down the situation himself. This will prevent him from being recognized by outsiders and having the fat man discover something amiss.

That muscular man must have someone watching him over in the jungle. The commotion here is too big; they'll definitely be on guard. I should notify the outsider first, so he can prepare accordingly.

"Sir, I'm going to write a letter to obtain permission from the lord of this place to visit the castle and inquire about the stranger. I need you to deliver the letter. I don't know if you can do this job well, since it's related to the chief's plans." Carly straightened her clothes, making herself look more like a noble lady.

The fat man looked Carly up and down. "Why me?" Did he really look like a servant?

Carly sized up the fat man.

"Could it be me?" Carly once again demonstrated the etiquette of a noble lady.

The fat man was defeated; there was indeed a slight difference in skill level, and he had to admit this reality.

The fat man left, resolutely. He headed towards the dilapidated castle not far away.

"Wow! What is this road made of? It's so smooth and so wide." The fat man was shocked by the road leading to the castle as soon as he left the village. "Holy crap, there are several oxcarts running on it at the same time."

The fat man couldn't help but start running too.

"Huff!" The fat man gasped for breath. "Wow!" What a huge house in front of us!

The fat man stopped, panting heavily, and looked at the large house in front of him.

Above the main entrance of the house hung several unfamiliar patterns. Why was it built so large? He was filled with curiosity and prepared to go inside to take a look.

Just as he was about to step into the house, a young man came out, and the two almost bumped into each other.

"You stupid fool who can't even walk properly, didn't you see I'm coming in?" The fat man saw that the other person was dressed in a tattered linen robe, looking utterly ordinary, lacking any aristocratic air, and looking more like a servant than himself, so he wasn't very polite. He wasn't one to be polite, though. He might have some respect for Carly, but that was because Carly was the leader's honored guest.

However, this person looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't quite place him.

But he didn't have time to think about it, because the other party had already asked.

"Oh, this gentleman is a stranger. Where do you come from? What brings you here?" The young man didn't take his words to heart.

The fat man was so pleased with the address that he felt like his soul was leaving his body. He was always the one being scolded, and now that someone was calling him that, he felt much more favorably toward the person.

As a result, his tone of voice became much more pleasant.

"It's nothing serious. My young lady got separated from the group, and we ended up here in a panic. My young lady wants to seek some help from the lord of this place, so she wrote a letter and asked me to deliver it to the lord at the castle." The fat man remembered Carly's words very clearly.

"Hmm, where are you from? I'm on my way to the castle to deliver something; I can take the letter with me."

"That's...that's great. We came from the east." The fat man was pleased with the young man's words and handed him the letter without hesitation.

"Well, it's almost noon now. There's food inside. Go sit down for a while. There will be a free lunch later. I'm going to the castle first. I'll bring you back when the lord has any news."

"There really is such a thing as a free lunch?" the fat man asked in surprise.

"Really, it tastes pretty good!"
