Chapter 126 - Chapter 125: Sieg's Rebirth

Hades held the Life Stream Dragon card, waving it in front of Sieg as he spoke:

"This card houses the dragon that symbolizes vitality—the Life Stream Dragon. If I integrate it into your body and you can endure it, you will live. Otherwise, you will be consumed by that overwhelming life force."

"Will you accept this power, young man?"

"Ugh..." Sieg turned his head toward Hades and nodded weakly, his eyes filled with a firm desire for life.

"Then accept this gift."

Upon hearing this, Hades directly inserted the Life Stream Dragon card into Sieg's chest. Like ripples sinking to the bottom of a lake, it merged into Sieg's body.

"Roar—!!!" Sieg's eyes erupted with dazzling light as green magic circuits manifested across his body, letting out a violent dragon's roar.

A powerful air current surged around them, shocking Charon and Astolfo, who had just arrived carrying a set of black men's clothing.

Dragon scales gradually appeared on Sieg's face. His expression was one of intense agony as he roared continuously at his surroundings.

But soon, the pain on his face eased. The dragon scales receded, and the light in his eyes dimmed, returning to normal.

Sieg matured significantly in an instant, growing from a child into a young man.

With his body greatly strengthened, Sieg sat up and looked at his hands. He clenched them into fists, and a smile immediately appeared on his face, filled with the joy of survival and life.

Seeing this, Astolfo also showed a relieved smile.

Observing everything that had happened, Hades spoke to the stunned Astolfo:

"Rider, help him get dressed."

"Aye aye~~!!" Astolfo replied with a somewhat silly voice and immediately did as Hades instructed.

Sieg put on the black male suit he wore in the original story; it was surprisingly a good fit.

Afterward, Charon stepped forward again to examine Sieg's body. The results shocked him; Sieg's physical strength was now comparable to a Dragon Kind, and the magical energy within him was as vast as a dragon's.

Hades looked at Sieg as he got out of bed and said:

"In Norse mythology, there was a hero named Siegfried who bathed in dragon's blood. Since you have gained rebirth through the power of a dragon, from now on, you shall be called Sieg."

"Thank you." Having received a name, Sieg spoke to Hades with a face full of gratitude.

At that moment, Charon looked at Hades with concern and said, "Hades, this Homunculus is Caster's..."

Before Charon could finish, Hades waved his hand to interrupt, saying, "Big brother, don't worry. Caster has the orb I gave him; he won't do anything to Sieg."

Then, Hades looked at Charon and said:

"Big brother, I have to ask you to train Sieg. He doesn't yet have the ability to control the dragon power inside him. Among all our Servants, only you have such rich teaching experience."

"No problem, Hades." When it came to education, Charon immediately smiled and nodded in agreement.

Just then, Hades used his Cosmos to detect a surge of killing intent rapidly approaching the Millennia Fortress. He turned and said to Astolfo:

"Rider, a guest has arrived. Go tell Lancer to get ready."

"Yes." After Astolfo responded, he immediately spiritized and vanished. Hades also swung his cloak and disappeared from the spot instantly.

In the forest outside the Millennia Fortress, a muscular man appeared. His skin was blue-white, and he wore the restrictive gear of an ancient Roman gladiator. He held a common iron sword, and with the perpetual smile on his face, he felt eerie and terrifying to friend and foe alike.

Berserker of Red, Spartacus.

Spartacus was a Thracian gladiator slave captured by Rome, belonging to a gladiator training camp in Campania.

However, in 73 BC, he escaped with 78 companions. Rome sent thirty pursuers, but they were defeated by a surprise attack led by Spartacus.

Hearing of this victory, slaves across the land revolted, and the rebel army swelled to seventy thousand.

The rebel army defeated Roman forces one by one as they moved north, but they gave up on crossing the Alps. They then targeted Sicily but were betrayed by the pirates they entrusted with sea transport, and were finally surrounded by the Roman army.

Spartacus died in that battle. It is said his body was so mutilated that no one could recognize who it was.

His philosophy of action was simple: rebel against the oppressor and save the oppressed. As the best choice for this, he would choose the path of greatest suffering. He would not attack a disadvantaged enemy, only an enemy with an advantage over him. Furthermore, he chose to counterattack only after enduring the enemy's assault, allowing the form of victory to reverse at the very last moment. His scarred face remained calm and smiling whether he was being punched or not, which was truly terrifying.

"You've come as expected, Berserker Spartacus. When a wave of killing intent rushed toward Millennia, I knew it was you immediately." Hades appeared on a long tree branch, looking down at Spartacus.

"I see! It's you!! You are the oppressor!!" Seeing Hades appear, Spartacus immediately became excited and charged toward the tree where Hades stood.

With a terrifying smile, he swung his sword to cut down the tree. In an instant, the massive tree—as thick as two grown men hugging—was severed with a perfectly smooth cut, showing the fearsome nature of his strength.

Meanwhile, Hades appeared behind Spartacus, recalling the data on the Noble Phantasm he possessed.

[Crying Warmonger]

[Rank: A+]

[Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Noble Phantasm]

[Range: 0]

[Maximum Target: 1 person]

[A continuously active Noble Phantasm that converts a portion of damage received from enemies into magical energy, storing it within the body. The efficiency of this conversion increases as Spartacus's health decreases. The magical energy accumulated in this way can be used to boost Spartacus's abilities.]

[As the accumulated magical energy increases, he begins to grow to a massive size, with injured parts protruding like tumors. At the limit, he transforms completely into a monstrosity; in this state, even three command spells cannot control Berserker. His arms increase to eight, three of which are like boneless tentacles that can shatter boulders like whips. His weight becomes too much for two legs to support, so he grows numerous secondary legs like an insect. His head recedes into his neck, and like a dinosaur, his upper and lower jaws protrude from his shoulders. His eyeballs increase to five, scattered across his shoulders, head, and abdomen.]

Thinking of this, Hades's desire for collection surged. He extended his right hand, releasing a Cosmos of intense darkness and Death that enveloped Spartacus as he began to chant:

"Spartacus, by my Roman divine name Pluto, I command you: fall into the pitch-black Underworld. Darkness is your home."

"Underworld King... Pluto... Lord..." Even as a Berserker, Spartacus regained his sanity at the last moment. He turned his head toward Hades in disbelief as his breathing gradually stopped, and he dissolved into countless motes of light to return to the Throne of Heroes.

Hades drew a circle with his right hand, gathering the scattered light particles back together. They transformed into a golden card. On the back was an image of a beastman holding a heavy blade, and on the front was Spartacus.

Then, that golden card flew into Hades's hand.

"Berserker Spartacus, I'll take this."

This was the heroic spirit card created by Hades. Although its appearance was the same as the Class Cards in the Type-Moon universe, the effects were different. The latter allowed the user to draw out the power of a Heroic Spirit, while the former could summon the Heroic Spirit at the peak of their strength.
