Chapter 83 - Little Boss

✦ CHAPTER — "Little Boss." ✦

Jay's POV

The second I entered Keifer's office building with Alina in my arms—

chaos started.

😭🫀🤍

---

The guards immediately softened seeing her.

One even opened the door quickly with a smile.

> "Little boss is here."

---

Alina blinked sleepily from my shoulder.

Then suddenly—

the second she saw Keifer through the office glass doors—

she LOST HER MIND.

😭💀

---

Tiny excited noises. Tiny kicking feet. Tiny hands reaching dramatically.

---

"Papa!"

Not fully clear.

But enough.

---

And immediately—

Keifer looked up from his meeting.

---

The cold dangerous expression vanished instantly.

Gone.

Like it never existed.

---

"My princess."

---

He stood up immediately while every mafia man in the room tried not to smile.

And the SECOND I set Alina down—

traitor child crawled at full speed toward him.

---

Keifer picked her up instantly.

Kissing her cheek. Her forehead. Holding her against his chest protectively.

---

And honestly?

He looked so soft with her that my heart hurt a little.

---

But then—

minutes passed.

And he still hadn't looked at me properly.

😭🫀

---

Not intentionally.

I knew that.

But still…

a strange little ache settled inside me.

---

Because lately— everyone loved Alina first.

And sometimes…

I quietly wondered if Keifer did too.

😭💔

---

So instead of interrupting him, I just walked toward the couch area quietly.

Trying not to overthink it.

---

Immediately, two mafia men stood up.

> "Boss's wife, sit here."

Another brought snacks.

Another offered juice.

---

I laughed softly.

"You all spoil me too much."

One of them shrugged.

> "Boss would kill us otherwise."

😭💀🤍

---

Meanwhile nearby—

Keifer sat with Alina in his lap during the meeting like it was completely normal.

And somehow?

Everyone else acted like it was normal too.

---

Alina sat there copying his expressions again.

Tiny serious face. Tiny crossed arms.

---

One mafia man looked terrified jokingly.

> "There are officially two bosses now."

---

Keifer looked proud instead of concerned.

Of course.

😭💀

---

Meanwhile I stayed near the couch talking softly with the men.

And honestly?

I loved them.

They had become family somewhere along the way.

---

One sat beside me carefully.

> "Little boss looks exactly like Boss today."

I laughed softly.

"She acts like him too."

Another sighed dramatically.

> "Poor future boyfriend."

---

I burst into laughter.

And suddenly—

across the room—

Keifer finally looked up.

---

His eyes landed on me immediately.

Then narrowed slightly.

---

Because apparently: his wife laughing with other men was suddenly suspicious.

😭💀🫀

---

I ignored him on purpose.

Still talking happily.

Still smiling.

---

Now HE looked jealous.

Good.

---

Keifer's POV

Why was every man around my wife smiling so much?

---

I narrowed my eyes slightly while adjusting Alina against my chest.

---

One of the idiots handed Jay food.

Another made her laugh.

And suddenly I didn't like this meeting anymore.

---

Meanwhile Alina copied my expression again.

Tiny suspicious stare included.

---

I looked down at her.

"…don't encourage this behavior."

She smiled proudly.

Traitor.

😭🤍

---

Eventually I walked toward Jay with Alina still in my arms.

And the SECOND I got close—

all the men suddenly became very interested in their work again.

Cowards.

---

I stood beside the couch quietly.

Waiting.

---

Jay ignored me.

On purpose.

---

"…Jayjay."

No response.

---

I looked down at Alina.

"Your mother is being dramatic again."

Immediately Jay gasped.

"I am NOT dramatic."

That finally made me smirk slightly.

---

Then softly, quieter now:

> "You're jealous."

Her face changed instantly.

Just slightly.

But enough for me to notice.

---

And suddenly—

I understood.

---

So carefully, while still holding Alina with one arm—

I pulled Jay closer with the other.

Until she was against my chest too.

---

"Hey," I murmured quietly near her hair.

And immediately her stubbornness weakened slightly.

---

"You think I forgot you?"

Silence.

---

Then quietly—

"…sometimes."

My chest tightened painfully.

😭🫀💔

---

I tilted her chin gently upward.

"Forgetting you would be impossible."

---

Her eyes softened instantly.

---

Then I kissed her forehead softly.

Slowly.

In front of everyone.

---

The office became suspiciously silent behind us.

😭💀

---

Meanwhile Alina suddenly grabbed Jay's face dramatically like: attention back on me.

---

Jay burst into laughter immediately.

And honestly?

Hearing both my girls laugh together fixed something in me every single time.

---

One mafia man whispered quietly behind us:

> "Boss is completely gone."

Another answered:

> "He never stood a chance."

And honestly?

They were right. 🤍🫀

✦ CHAPTER — "Can't Breathe Without You." ✦

Jay's POV

The mansion was quiet tonight.

Too quiet.

---

Except for Alina crying.

😭🫀

---

Nothing was wrong.

She wasn't sick. Wasn't hungry. Didn't need changing.

She was simply in one of her moods.

And unfortunately—

our daughter had inherited Keifer's stubbornness.

😭💀

---

So now, at nearly midnight, I stood near the huge bedroom window holding Alina carefully against my shoulder.

Patting her back gently.

Because apparently princess hated being carried while sitting.

Only walking.

Only movement.

Only suffering for me.

😭🤍

---

Soft city lights glowed outside while I swayed slowly back and forth.

Kissing her tiny hair. Singing quietly against her forehead.

---

"Sleep, baby…"

Alina sniffled softly against my neck.

Still refusing.

---

My arms were starting to ache slightly by the time the bedroom door finally opened.

---

Keifer.

😭🫀

---

He looked exhausted.

Black shirt slightly wrinkled. Tie loosened. Eyes tired.

The kind of tiredness that sat deep inside his bones.

---

For a second, he just stood there watching us silently.

And immediately—

his entire expression softened.

---

Then without saying a word, he walked over slowly and wrapped his arms around both of us from behind.

His forehead resting against my shoulder with a long deep sigh.

Like finally breathing properly after a horrible day.

😭🤍

---

I leaned back against him slightly.

"Tired?"

He closed his eyes briefly.

"…mm."

---

That was all he said.

But I understood anyway.

---

His arms tightened around my waist gently while Alina finally started calming down between us.

Safe now.

Papa was home.

---

And honestly?

So was I.

😭🫀

---

A few minutes later, Alina finally fell asleep properly.

Tiny fingers still curled against my shirt.

---

Carefully, we placed her into the crib together.

Keifer adjusting her blanket with ridiculous seriousness while Mochi watched nearby protectively.

---

Then finally—

silence.

---

✦ LATER ✦

I reheated food quietly in the kitchen while Keifer showered quickly.

And honestly?

I expected him to sit normally after coming downstairs.

Like a functional adult.

---

Instead—

this giant man walked straight toward me, sat down, then immediately pulled me onto his lap.

😭💀🫀

---

"Keifer."

No response.

---

His arms wrapped around my waist while his legs trapped mine completely.

Like a giant clingy child.

---

"You can sit properly."

"No."

"Why?"

He rested his chin against my shoulder lazily.

> "Long day."

---

Apparently this terrifying mafia boss also refused to eat unless I fed him after stressful nights.

Which was somehow both ridiculous and adorable.

---

So now I sat sideways on his lap feeding him noodles while he stared at me quietly between bites.

Too quietly.

---

I narrowed my eyes slightly.

"What?"

"…nothing."

But he kept staring.

😭🫀

---

The kitchen lights were dim now.

Warm. Soft.

His hair still slightly damp from the shower.

And for some reason—

seeing him like this felt more intimate than anything else.

---

I twirled more noodles around the fork before holding it toward him again.

Then quietly asked:

"…when did you start loving me this much?"

---

He paused immediately.

The question catching him off guard.

---

For a long moment, he didn't answer.

Just looked at me.

Really looked at me.

---

Then finally—

his arms tightened slightly around my waist.

And his voice came out quieter than before.

> "I don't know."

---

I blinked softly.

"What kind of answer is that?"

A tiny smile appeared on his face.

Tired. Real.

---

"At first I hated you."

I gasped dramatically.

"How romantic."

That finally made him laugh softly.

😭🤍

---

Then he brushed hair away from my face carefully.

And suddenly his expression changed again.

Softer now.

---

"But somewhere along the way…"

A pause.

His thumb brushed lightly against my cheek.

> "…you became the first thing I looked for every morning."

My heart physically hurt.

😭🫀💌

---

"And then?"

He looked down briefly.

Almost thoughtful.

---

"Then one day I realized…"

His eyes lifted back to mine slowly.

> "…I couldn't breathe properly when you were upset with me."

Silence.

Warm. Heavy. Real.

---

"And now?" I whispered softly.

---

His forehead rested against mine gently.

Completely unguarded.

---

"Now I leave for a few hours and it feels wrong."

A pause.

Then quieter:

> "Like part of me stayed behind with you."

---

I stared at him silently for a second.

Then smiled softly.

Small. Emotional.

---

"You're clingy."

"Your fault."

😭💀

---

I laughed quietly and fed him another bite.

And this time—

instead of eating immediately—

he kissed my cheek first.

Slowly.

Softly.

Like he still couldn't believe I was really his. 🤍
