Chapter 54 - Report 46- Kaleidoscope

Hearing his name Albert knew where he was from. He also did not doubt it was his name as who would come up with such a long and unique name.

'Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg!? What kind of name is that!?'

It was something that Albert in his experience in espionage knew that the best names are those that are simple and forgettable.

"Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg? Your German?" Albert said. "Also you miss your chair? You can just… get a new one!"

"More of a workshop but I digress. It's gone now, that chair I liked along with the work around it."

"And is that my problem, how?"

Albert's body was tense, he and Mélusine were ready to move the second he does anything. But even under Mélusine's fearsome presence he is as cool and collect like he was on vacation.

"No, no. It was caused by some foolish man, wanting humanity to go to the next stage." His lips pulled up a bit. "Honestly all this stemming from a grail war in Romania, then the whole thing in Oslo… gods." He rubbed his forehead.

"… I am not getting why you are here or why it involves me?"

"That man was a Master, and he made a wish, that wish lead to a baby in China to glow, and other children beginning to exhibit abilities. As the story goes." He mumbled the last part to himself. "A glow that much like a star that shined down a new age for man and the end for Magus."

"You mean a mage?"

"Sure." He didn't even bother arguing. "All other Magus or Mage in the world are dead, extinct—well…" He stopped himself and thought about it. "No they simply were evolved out just like all the normal people are when Quirks emerged."

"So your saying that instead of Magus having more children who are also Magus' they gave birth to children with Quirks?" Mélusine said.

"Pretty much, they rather quickly blended into this new society, like those Himura and Yaoyorozu Families, they were originally Mage families with a decent enough bloodline. But only the Himura's retained any semblance of their ice magecraft now evolved into an Ice Quirk. However some saw this as the end and simply killed themselves, a lot died that way as the path they all sought has been effectively locked with an era with even lower Mystery than the previous one."

"That is fascinating." Mélusine was genuinely amazed how this world progressed into such a state. "Is that why this era's Mystery is practically almost all gone?"

"Very. Due to the emergence of Meta Ability, renamed to Quirks so it's more kid-friendly, I suppose. Mystery in the world disappeared and so came the end of the Age of Man and here came the Age of Heroes, in a more capitalistic, deary, yet idealistic version. Personally I prefer this era's heroes over the old classical heroes, less murder and more saving."

"… Mel do you know what he's talking about?" Albert looked to her, he was able to follow a good chunk of it but not all of it. "Like what is Mystery in this context? Is it some resource or…?"

"Somewhat but not some parts. From what the Grail gave me, Mystery is the source of all supernatural phenomena. But this Kischur is wrong, evidence being that I am here."

"I did exaggerate it a bit. Still I am surprised that grail being used now can give such reliable information, what with it being rather broken, enough to summon that fairy-type dragon as you refer to yourself to Proper Human History. Well…" He ran his hands through his beard. "The information brought from Chaldea could have…"

He shook his head.

"I am rambling. There is still some Mystery left in the world, albeit it's on a lifeline, the Magus however, like I said, are even worse off like the Northern White Rhino."

"The fuck is a Rhino?"

By this point in time Rhinos have been poached into extinction. A lot of animals did during the unification war of Africa, now all of their countries became states run by American companies and corporations.

"Not important." Kischur brushed it aside. "What I am saying is that the lack of Mystery is the main reason why Servants who should be able to detect magical signals and other servants are dulled to that of a normal human. Heh, I found it funny we went through what the gods went through with Sefar." His lips pulled back, and he looked Albert in his eyes. "Galahad, I am here not to give you a unwarranted history lesson but to tell you—instruct you in basic Magecraft."

"…Why?" Albert was hesitant to receive his help or anyone's help for that matter.

"Just for my own benefit, plus it won't take too long, plus-plus you have the capability to be a Mage, which says a lot since by this time period if you learned the basics you would be classified as a Grand."

"Grand?"

"The highest ranking in the Clock Tower."

"Well now you just saying stuff now."

"Sorry it's a bad habit of mine. I must reiterate it has been a very long time since I had any social interaction that isn't with… never mind." Two people came to mind, both women, one with blonde hair and red eyes and another with bright red hair and blue eyes. "Wish I still had my chair…" He mumbled under his breath.

"Okay so by your own words you have some ability right? You mentioned land unagi all those months back so you can see or predict the future. So you must be pretty strong."

"It's a bit complicated to explain."

"I have the time and intelligence to follow."

"No." He said bluntly. "I was lying, I really don't want to explain. So do you wanna learn Magecraft? You are burning time here even with your intelligence."

Albert looked at Mélusine.

"You mind if I speak with it with my partner?"

"Go on."

Albert and Mélusine go back a bit and discuss it.

"What do you think?" Albert asked.

"He is… an old being." Mélusine took glances at him. "He reminds me very much like the queen I once served."

"And?"

"He is frighteningly powerful, maybe even more then my queen who ruled with an iron fist for 2000 years, ruling over the Fae."

"I am arguably stronger then that Lostbelt Queen Morgan!" Kischur shouted out.

"Can you hear us from here!?" Albert shouted surprised.

"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!?" Mélusine shouted, she was both surprised and genuinely scared how he even knew of her former queen. "And I highly doubt that!?"

"I have faced stronger things than her, I will give it to you and be generous that I have a… let's say 70 to maybe 78% chance of winning against her. Also I just know what your gonna say!"

'It does take a smidge off me, but it will get me to that timeline.' He thought using his magic a bit.

Albert looked to Mélusine and sighed.

"God dammit." Albert said walking back to Kischur.

Mélusine followed as well.

"I hate time based abilities." Mélusine said.

"They're so bullshit." Albert said as both he and Mélusine arrive before him. "Why don't you have like normal powers and stuff, like super strength or fireballs."

"Haha! Super strength and fireballs! What am I some damn promethean neanderthal!" That did get him a good chuckle. "That's rather rich coming from a Beast Candidate."

"Huh?" Mélusine looked to Albert in stunned surprise.

"What's that?" Albert tilts his head.

"Just means you have the potential to become a Beast."

"Uhh… Okay?"

Albert doesn't know what he is meaning when he said Beast. Albert turned to Mélusine, she was still looking at him, to ask her if she knows.

"Mel do you—"

"They are beings that love humanity ever so, but it goes a full circle and lands on a malice way of loving them." She said looking at him intently. She made a serious expression that Albert never seen before. "Say you loved humanity and never want them to suffer you might, turn to a Beast if you have the ability and potential, they will kill every human so they will never suffer again, or just get rid of their physical bodies so they just become wandering spirits, no bodies no suffering."

"… Hm. I don't like that." he said a bit worried. "This is some twisted logic."

"Right you are." Kischur said nodding. "Since you already ate Gorgon's children and ingested her blood that Quirk of yours adapted your body and brought it up to its purpose."

"Sounds like I have a grander destiny huh?"

"You can think of it like that yes, but like any other idea of destiny or fate it is based on one's nature. Your actions lead you to this moment, you are the culmination of all your experiences. Galahad you have become a Juvenile Beast and something more. Hell I bet with that quirk of yours you may be the first and only beast to not try and kill humanity."

[Status updated!]

"?" Albert was surprised. "<>."

He opened his status to see his title has revealed itself.

Race: Human (71%) Dragon (28%) Beast (1%)

Title: Juvenile Beast, ■■■■■■■■ ■■■■■,

"Huh? Well… hm." Albert didn't know how to react to this.

"How do you even know of the world I herald from?" Mélusine spoke up. "It has been pruned from conception by the Chaldeans. Or even Albert's current situation?"

"My magic, I see a many great things and a many horrible things as well." Kischur rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a long bone.

"!?" Mélusine immediately perked up. "That… why do you have a Bone of Albion!" she shouted wanting answers.

"I took it from the dragons' corpse. There is a lot of them. Here a gift for peace." He tossed it to her.

"!" She grabbed it tightly.

"So shall we get started? You have a couple of hours before you have to go and really get this Grail War started."

"Albert you don't mind if I go ahead and eat this bone?" Mélusine asked.

"Go ahead, why are you asking me when I have no need for it." Albert said looking at her eyes transfixed on the bone.

Her eyes lit up and she began to eat it.

Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

Chew~ Chew~ Chew~

Swallow~ Swallow~ Swallow~!

"Ah~" She let out a breath of satisfaction. "And here comes the pain."

"The what?" Albert looked at her with confusion.

[Servant improving!]

Crack-Crack-Crack!!

"Rrrr!!" Mélusine grits her teeth as he bones breaks and reforms.

Her body slowly get bigger, more mature with the figure of a matured young woman in her late teens. Her hair grows even more red. Even her hair ornaments grew to form a sort of crown. Overall she looked like a fierce, fire-like, incidental beauty, looking at her eyes had a predator-like feeling to them, but they also had a inorganic look to them, a bit like crystals.

Seeing this Dust thought how it must have gone the night she and him met.

"With each little bit of Albion eaten it's unintended child grows ever more closer to its parent." Kischur said. "Still, such little amounts results in this?" He looks to Albert. "Your Quirk is something else, certainly a ability worthy of envy."

Mélusine grew even more in strength, even more then when she ate the previous bone.

"Ah~" She could feel the raw dragon blood flow through her like jet-fuel. "Albert could I go and test what I can do?"

"Go ahead." Albert nodded.

"Hm!"

Flicker!

She disappeared faster than one could even blink.

"So." Kischur said. "Shall we get started?"

"Might as well. But uh, can I ask you something?"

"What is it? Is it my age?"

"No, wait I thought you could see the future?"

"Why would I do that for everything? It would become a crutch and then that becomes a whole death spiral."

"Ah okay. Well I wanted to ask you how the holy grail war was even made if the world's Mystery is so low."

"Bits and pieces still remain of the last sub-wars."

"Sub-wars?"

"Yes, smaller scale grail wars. They were rather prevalent for a while until it wasn't. Long story short, trust me it is a long story, a man, I refuse to remember his name on principal, won seven sub-wars building up the magic and they recklessly made a wish that made magecraft more natural… that ended up becoming what we call Quirks today.

Saying that what is happening now is… well rather surprising if I am being honest. That All For One managed to rebuild, I should say rigging the grail war system through all the other previous sub-wars leylines. A very impressive feat done in an age of chaos. It is unfortunate—well maybe not so considering you but All Might and his people did destroy a lot of them with the help of the United States."

"Why? I would think they would want have something to grant a wish?"

"Too unpredictable and dangerous, even by their standards. Besides they were making good headway on the Adam Project. So the grail war underway here is a pretty much held together with duct tape and luck. Oddly it is a very impressive thing that was built, a grail system that could summon that servant of yours."

"Is she really that impressive?"

"Very. By servant standards she is a… think of her as a SSR unit, you understand?"

"Not really no."

Kischur sighed.

"Lets just move onto the lessons."

Lesson one.

"First lesson, your Magic Circuits. Oh and side note here." He hands him a pair of glasses. "For your eyes."

Albert takes them and puts them on, immediately he felt his eyes no longer hurt.

"Ahh… What are these? And those Magic Circuits?"

"They are called Mystic Eye Killers, helps with the Mystic Eyes that are sometimes unruly as for what Magic Circuits they a kind of special veins where magic goes through them." He holds out his cane and a blue circuiting flows through it.

"Ooh, that yeah I have that." Albert holds his hand out and his veins glowed in a gray then black then purple hue. Unlike Kischur's Albert look more natural and smooth in a vein-like pattern. "It never did that before?"

"Hm, this is my first time teaching a unique existence such as yourself. But I have taught odder." He briefly remembers a golden princess. "I think we should call these style of magic circuits as Beast Veins."

[Ding! Status updated!]

"Oh? Seems my status updated again. <>"

Monster Body: I (Beast Veins Quality: H) (Beast Vein Quantity: I)

"What does it say?"

"It says my quality is H and my Quantity is I."

"Is that good or bad?"

"Well considering the higher the letter the better so… yeah their pretty low but they will get better the more I use them."

"So they are like a muscle to you huh? The more you train it the better they will get? Do they atrophy?"

"No, when they are ranked up they remain that way no matter what."

"Hahaha!!" he laughed at the absurdity he just heard. "If this was 100 years ago I am sure the Clock Tower would have been made green with envy! Training something you were born with as if it was a day at the gym! Hahaha!!"

"Say is there a magic to talk telepathically? I have to use other forms of communication with Mel."

"Well that leads us into our next lesson. I am sure you noticed that sometimes when you sleep you have odd dreams with people you never seen, right."

"That is right. Is it special?"

"Not really. A Master and their Servant are in a pact they share a somethings, for some it could be their high resistance to poisons, others like you some magic resistance. But they also share the memories of their lives before they died and became heroic spirits."

"I see so that was her…" Albert nodded. "Can she also see mine?"

"I don't see why not. But let's get back on topic."

His lessons were very quick and easy to grasp, at least for Albert and his Quirk. He taught him how to hide his Command Seals and even how to use them.

His understanding of Magecraft greatly benefited Albert from how little their time together was.

"Sorry I have to go." Albert told him. "I have a job I have to do."

"I understand. I will come find you once everything calms down." Kischur strokes his beard. "So don't worry about it."

He also learned what his Mystic Eyes could do. His eyes were named by Kischur as the Mystic Eyes of Eschaton. Apparently they are never before recorded eyes.

"Pretty rare but I have seen and know better."

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

"Well there are the famous and ultra rare Mystic Eyes of Death Perception that lets you see the death line of things."

"… Fuuuuck that is such a cool name!"

"I know, they look as equally as cool as their name is."

"Well now I want to get my hands on those eyes."

"Good luck. You would have better luck at winning the lottery while getting struck by lightning on the Titanic while bathing in gold."

"Come on! All my eyes do is lets me see the final state of things and even people."

"It's pretty good."

"Okay but when I look at you," He glances at him to see the filters again, he quickly put on the Mystic Eye Killers. "Your all weird like you are constantly swinging picture filters."

"Ah… And your servant?"

"Glitchy."

"Hm. Well let's put that aside for now and work on other matters with what time we have left."

"Oh a side note, could you also perhaps get rid of some of these magic mental suggestions in my head? They are really annoying."

"I would love to but their all tangled together and such. I don't know what will happen to you if I up and suddenly cleared them all for you. Plus I am not good at undoing such things. There was one who could do it fairly well, a Waver Velvet. Bright kid, horrible luck. Married his sister."

"Gross."

"He was forced to. Not even his sister, his adopted sister, he was adopted into her family due to circumstances. Poor kid. I liked him. Too bad he was killed by—I am rambling now."

"I'll see you again."

With that Albert left.
