On the day of the Practical Exam, Albert had nothing to do.
"…"
He remained in the class, looking out the window. Since he already completed his exam and pass the written part with flying colors. Of course he couldn't have just stayed in the room by himself.
"So." Albert spoke up. "How is messing with Kaminari and Ashido?"
On the screen was Nezu.
"Very fun!" He said messing with them. "So are you excited for the summer camp?"
"It's nice. I hope it isn't like those military boot camps."
"Well we are a bit more generous than them. Unless your gonna fail like these two I'm dealing with right now. We are educators not drill instructors."
"Hmm… So have you increased security at the summer camp?"
"We have. They also will double as a trainer. We even got Mirko to come and help."
"… You got Mirko to come along? How did you pull that off? She is as free and hard to contact as she is to jump around."
"Rather easy. A few calls here and there and using your name she accepted without much issue. She even told me to tell you that she will thoroughly be training you."
"How pleasant."
"You don't mind me asking but and my apologies, but I have looked into your activity here in Japan."
"Better choose your words wisely." Albert glared at him. "I may have to kill a rat soon if they don't know their place."
Nezu felt his hair stand up as he felt a shiver run down his back.
"Camera's. I saw how you and Mirko were going about the internship. Not once have I seen you bleed. Even when you fought All Might. There were several hundreds of situations you could have taken to end the fight far more faster and efficiently."
"I did not want to get hurt. Is it so bad I do not want to bleed?"
"Of course but the movement I saw when you were with Mirko was far more evasive. You moved from attacks you could have easily stopped and counter with some minor injury."
"Semantics. Why would someone want to get hurt?"
"True. No one wants pain. As one who was experimented on I know the feeling of not wishing any more pain." He lightly tapped the scar over his eye.
"Well that is something we have in common. You wanna talk about it and make some shared bond over trauma? I promise you mines worse."
"Oh no, no. I prefer not to compare traumas, kind of invalidates the other when they are both equally bad and valid."
"Well you are the smart one here."
"Albert how long do you hope your stay here will last?"
"Until my job is done."
"And what then? Will you just go back to your previous life? Abandon—"
"A job is a job. The moment it is done Albert will no longer be needed."
The in-matter-of-fact tone he said it bothered Nezu.
"And what of the friends you made?"
"… They will get over it." He replied with some lingering attachments to them which was a first for him.
"I hope you will take up my and All Might's help. It's still on the table."
"Thanks but when I receive it I would have the entire U.S. on my ass. So unless you have the influence and might to go up against them I doubt you would want to go head to head against them?"
"We are heroes. If we cannot save one boy what good are we?"
"Hm~" Albert returned his gaze to the outside. "We will see."
"By the way. Those tools you registered with the support department."
"Those web-shooters? What about them?"
"Yes the Arachne's Wrists. A rather fitting and unique name."
"So I have been told. Those support department students couldn't stop gushing over the design."
"Considering you made them in a day, and they held their own against All Might for a while speaks volume of its genius."
"Eh. I made better and more destructive stuff. I once had to carry parts of a bomb through the Sahara Desert, get parts from cars and then bomb the—"
"I think I heard enough. Honestly I never know what I will hear from your storytelling."
"Fine. I'll just take a nap then."
"Hah… goodbye for now, Albert." Nezu hung up the phone.
Albert closed his phone and his eyes. His mind lingers on Nezu's question.
"Tsk…" He made a displeased face. "What luck Mélusine is back at home."
He wanted to talk this out with her. Knowing her should would have asked more on this question that he will probably not ask her when he gets home.
The end day ended without much surprise with only 5 students failing.
The next day.
"All right class." Aizawa said.
Five of the failed students, Kaminari, Ashido, Sato, Kirishima, and Sero, looked down in disappointment.
"Now about the final exam, five of you failed, you know who you are. To make up the exam you five must go to summer training camp!" Aizawa said with a gleeful smirk.
"WHAT!?!?" The five of them said.
"Oh yeah we never planned on you guys not going. You guys and the whole class passed the written exam but the practical well not so much."
"Sensei." Bakugo said raising his hand. "Which teacher did Albert win against?"
Everyone was curious. Albert never spoke of his exam, never even brought it up.
"Well I wanted to talk more about this summer training camp but, All Might, anyway. The point of the test with us teachers was to—"
"Whoa! Whoa!!" many of the class shouted.
"We can't gloss over that!?" shouted Ashido.
"Yeah he won against All Might!?" shouted the purple one (Mineta).
"So!" Bakugo turned to Albert. "Did you run?" He tilts his head; his lips formed a smirk.
"How I won isn't important. If you wanna know, best ask All Might himself, Recovery Girl, or the principal." Albert responded. "Sensei can you continue?"
"Tsk." Bakugo sneered.
"Of course." Aizawa nodded. "Now you five that failed, a failure is still a failure so during the training camp you five will be getting special supplemental lessons."
"!!" The five of them shuddered.
"H-how special is it?" asked Sato.
"Worse then summer school. Anyway. Here and pass these two everyone, they are camp manuals."
The manuals were past everyone reads through them. Rather quickly everyone made plans to go get the stuff listed.
Nothing in particular happened the next day, everyone went and got their supplies and that was that.
