The night air in Jalpura felt different. To anyone else, it was just a humid evening with the scent of rain, but to Han, the air was alive. After consuming the 'Heart-Seed' of the Spirit Jute, his senses had expanded. He could feel the vibrations of the insects burrowing deep beneath the soil and the slow, rhythmic heartbeat of the ancient trees surrounding his farm.
He stood in the center of his jute field, the 'Mist of the Humble Farmer' still swirling around the perimeter. He was no longer the exhausted man who had spent days under the sun. His muscles were lean and infused with a dull, golden light that pulsed beneath his skin.
"System," Han whispered, his voice sounding deeper, echoing with the resonance of the earth itself. "I feel... heavy, yet weightless."

"Show me," Han commanded.
As if responding to his thoughts, the ground beneath his feet shifted. Without him moving a finger, the soil rose, forming a solid pillar that lifted him five feet into the air. It wasn't magic—it was authority. He was the owner of this land, and the land was eager to serve its master.
Suddenly, his Geo-Sense tingled. Someone was coming. Not from the canal road, but through the dense woods behind the farm. These weren't the clumsy thugs Master Lin had sent before. Their footsteps were light, calculated, and carried the cold intent of professionals.
"So, the Syndicate has arrived," Han muttered, a cold smile playing on his lips.
Three figures emerged from the shadows. They wore dark tunics marked with the emblem of a black jagged stone—the Syndicate. The man in the middle, tall and scarred, held a small, glowing compass.
"The energy spike came from here," the scarred man said, his voice like grinding gravel. "Master Lin was right. This pathetic farmer found a Spirit Node. Look at those jute stalks... even through the illusion, I can smell the purity."
"Oi, farmer!" the man on the left shouted, stepping forward. He was spinning a pair of jagged daggers. "Step down from that dirt pile and hand over the seeds. Do it now, and we might let you keep your hands."
Han didn't move. He looked down at them with eyes that now held the stillness of a mountain. "You are trespassing on my family's legacy. This soil has fed my ancestors. It will not feed your greed."
The thugs laughed. "A farmer talking about legacy? How cute. Kill him."
The two men on the sides blurred into motion. They were fast—far faster than any normal human. One threw a dagger aimed at Han's throat, while the other lunged with a short sword.
In the past, Han would have been dead before he could blink. But now, time seemed to slow down. He saw the trajectory of the dagger, the vibration of the air as the sword cut through it.
"Hardening," Han said softly.
The soil beneath the thugs' feet suddenly turned as hard as diamond. As they tried to jump, the sudden change in texture threw off their balance. At the same time, Han reached out his hand and closed his fist.
CRACK!
The ground beneath the man with the daggers exploded upward in a sharp spike of stone. The man barely managed to twist away, but the stone spike grazed his side, drawing blood.
"He's a cultivator!" the leader screamed, his eyes widening. "Stage 1 Earthen Realm! Be careful!"
The thugs regrouped, their faces now pale. They realized this wasn't an easy hunt. Han hopped down from his pillar, his feet landing silently on the grass. Every step he took sent a ripple through the ground, making the thugs stumble.
"My turn," Han said.
He slammed his palms into the earth. A wave of golden energy traveled through the soil. Seconds later, thick vines of spirit-infused jute burst from the ground like snakes. They wrapped around the thugs' legs, pulling them down.
"What is this? These aren't normal plants!" the thug with the sword yelled, hacking at the vines. But the fibers were as strong as iron cables. The more he struggled, the tighter they gripped.
The leader, realizing they were trapped, pulled out a small glass orb filled with dark smoke. "You think a bit of dirt can stop the Syndicate? Taste the Soul-Eating Fog!"
He smashed the orb. A thick, black mist began to spread, withering the grass it touched. Han felt a sharp pain in his chest as the mist tried to sever his connection with the earth.
"System, analysis!"

Han didn't panic. He knelt and pressed his ear to the ground. He ignored the black smoke and focused on the deep, humming vibration of the earth below the surface. He tapped into it, drawing the pure, untainted energy from the deep aquifers.
"Rise!" Han roared.
A dome of crystal-clear soil and spirit energy erupted around him, pushing the black mist back. Inside the dome, the air was sweet and fresh. Han stood up, his eyes glowing with a fierce golden light.
With a roar of power, he pushed the dome outward. The force of the expanding energy shattered the black mist and sent the three thugs flying back into the woods. They hit the trees with sickening thuds, their weapons scattered.
The scarred leader struggled to get up, coughing blood. He looked at Han, who was walking toward him, each step leaving a glowing footprint on the grass.
"Tell Master Lin," Han said, standing over the fallen man. "The farm is no longer for sale. And the Syndicate? If they come back, they won't just be leaving with bruises. They will become part of the fertilizer."
He waved his hand, and the ground beneath the thugs softened into a muddy marsh, slowly dragging them away from his crops and dumping them near the canal road.
Silence returned to the farm. The 'Spirit-Mist' closed the gap, hiding the field once more. Han stood alone, breathing heavily. The fight had drained him, but his core felt larger, more refined.
"Host, your first battle has increased your mastery," the System whispered. "The earth remembers your courage."
Han looked at his hands. They were covered in dirt, the honest dirt of a farmer, but beneath that dirt was a power that could change the world.
"Chapter 20 was the end of the beginning," Han whispered to the night sky. "Chapter 21... is the beginning of the end for my enemies."
