Keifer's POV

My phone buzzed in my pocket, the quiet vibration breaking the heavy silence of my dark room. I pulled it out, the bright screen illuminating the shadows around me. It was a text message from Yuri.

"She said yes, man. Jane forgave me. We're engaged."

For a split second, the heavy, suffocating darkness that had been hanging over me for the past two weeks completely lifted. A genuine, bright smile broke across my face.

I felt an immense wave of pure happiness for my best friend. Yuri had walked through fire to win back Jane's trust, and he had finally succeeded. They had found their way back to the light.

But as I stared at the flashing text message, my smile slowly faded into a bittersweet ache. The image of their happiness warped into a memory of my own past—a memory of Jay. Before the stupid plans, before the elaborate lies, and before the ultimate betrayal that had shattered her trust, we had a future too. We had a beautiful, electric future that felt so close I could almost touch it.

Sitting alone in the dark, I made a sudden, unyielding decision. I wasn't going to delay this anymore. I couldn't go another day standing in the shadows of her bedroom, being treated like empty air.

I knew, deep down beneath the icy walls she had built, that Jay still loved me. I could see the hidden sparks in her eyes whenever she accidentally looked my way. I was going to confess everything. I was going to strip away my pride, drop my defenses, and fight for my queen until I had no breath left.

I stood up, my boots making light sounds against the floorboards as I marched down the grand hallway of the mansion. I stopped directly in front of her bedroom door, my heart hammering violently against my ribs like a trapped bird.

I raised my trembling hand and knocked softly. Knock. Knock.

Through the silence, I could hear a faint shift in the mattress inside. True to form, Jay turned to another side of the bed, deliberately ignoring my knock, putting her back to the door to push me away like she had done for the past fourteen days.

I leaned my forehead against the cool wood of the door, my voice dropping into a raw, desperate whisper. "Jay... just once, please listen to me. Please, I beg you. Just give me five minutes. Please, Jay. I am going to be waiting for you up on the rooftop. Please come."

I didn't wait for a response. I turned on my heel and walked toward the stairs, my chest heaving with a desperate, frantic hope.

Maybe, just maybe, she will come after me this time, I prayed silently into the dark. Maybe she will finally decide to forgive me, or at the very least, give me a single chance to explain.

When I reached the expansive rooftop, the night air was freezing, cutting through my thin shirt like tiny glass blades. I didn't care about the cold. I was pacing up and down the concrete layout, my fingers constantly tangling in my hair, my anxiety reaching a fever pitch. Every single shadow looked like her, every whistle of the wind sounded like her footsteps.

Suddenly, the quiet clicking sound of the heavy rooftop door lock turning cut through the night.

I spun around instantly, my breath trapping itself completely in my throat. The door swung open slowly, and Jay walked out onto the rooftop, the cool wind catching the soft waves of her hair.

A ridiculous, massive smile broke across my face, completely wiping away the anxiety of the past hour. The sheer relief was intoxicating. I stepped forward immediately, my arms opening wide as I reached out to pull her into a tight, crushing hug. "Thank you for coming, Jay. I—"

"Watson. Speak what you want."

Her voice was an absolute sheet of pure ice.

I froze mid-stride, my arms remaining completely open in the empty air, the words dying instantly in my throat. The freezing tone hit me like a physical blow to the chest.

I slowly lowered my arms to my sides, my head bending down as a sudden, suffocating weight settled over my shoulders.

I forced myself to look up, my voice cracking beneath the sudden pressure. "Jay... why aren't you saying my name? Why are you calling me Watson?"

She didn't shift her posture. Her dark eyes were completely dead, devoid of a single ounce of the warmth I had spent months trying to cultivate. "I don't know what you mean," she shot back smoothly, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "We are simply not that close, Watson. Say what you came to say so I can go back to sleep."

Hearing those words—we are not that close—snapped the last thread of my restraint. The feared, cold CeO of Watson Enterprises completely collapsed. Without a second of hesitation, I dropped heavily onto my knees right on the hard concrete floor in front of her.

I reached out frantically, grabbing both of her small, cold hands into my large palms, clutching them against my chest as the tears I had suppressed for weeks finally broke free, tracking hot lines down my face.

"Please, Jay... please, love, forgive me," I begged loudly, my voice dissolving into a series of jagged, breathless sobs. "Just give me one single chance to fix this. To fix us and our relation. I know I was a complete asshole who messed everything up with my pride and my secrets. I know I broke your trust, and I hate myself for it every single second of the day. But please, Jay... give me just one chance."

I squeezed her hands tighter, pressing them against my frantic, beating heart, wanting her to feel the absolute desperation driving me.

"Without you... I was just surviving life, Jay. I was just a ghost walking around in a broken shell for those fifty-five days. But with you? I am living every single moment. When you came into my world, you made my entire life more beautiful than I ever thought possible. Please, Jay, forgive me. Please... I love you. I love you so much, Jay. I love you, Love. And I know... I know deep down inside you love me too. Please, Jay, just give me a chance. For us. For everything we were supposed to be."

I stopped, my breathing ragged, my vision completely blurred by a thick sheet of tears as I looked up from the floor, searching her face for a single sign of softening, a single tear, anything.

She stared down at me for a long, heavy moment. Her face remained a perfect, unreadable mask.

And then, suddenly, a sound cut through the quiet night air.

Jay started laughing.

It wasn't a soft, amused giggle. It was a loud, sharp, and incredibly mocking laugh that echoed violently off the rooftop walls.

I froze completely on my knees, my mind going entirely blank with a profound, terrifying shock. I stared up at her, my jaw slightly open, completely unable to comprehend why she was laughing at my exposed soul.

"Do you really think you deserve my touch,my love Keifer?" she said, her laughter dying out into a cold, venomous sneer as she looked down at me like I was nothing more than dirt on her shoe. "You are just a loser, Watson. A pathetic, desperate coward. Do you honestly think I give a single fuck about your love for me?"

The words felt like a physical knife driving straight into the center of my chest, twisting violently.

She leaned down slightly, her dark eyes flashing with a savage, mocking light that completely destroyed my sanity. "Just like you made that clever little plan of making me fall in love with you to settle your scores... I did the exact same thing to you. The only difference between us, Watson, is that you were stupid enough to fall truly, while I was just playing a game with you the entire time."

"No... no, that's a lie!" I screamed out, my voice cracking with pure agony as I held onto her hands even more tightly, my fingers clawing at her skin as I begged her with everything I had left. "Please, Jay, stop it! Say it's all a lie! Tell me you're just angry! I know you love me! Please, don't do this to me!"

With a sudden, violent burst of strength, Jay pushed me hard across the chest. The force of her push sent me sprawling backward onto the cold concrete floor, my hands losing their grip on her entirely.

"Don't be a sore loser, Watson," she spat out, her voice dripping with an absolute, chilling finality as she looked down at my broken form. "I do not love you. I never did. And don't you ever dare call me Jay again. It's Jean. Remember that name. Because that is the only person you are looking at right now."

She turned on her heel without a single second of hesitation, her crimson dress fluttering in the wind as she marched toward the rooftop door. The heavy metal door slammed shut behind her, the loud clang echoing through the night like a final executioner's blow.

I was left completely alone on the cold concrete layout, my body shaking with great, racking sobs as the tears flowed freely into the dark. Her each and every single word felt like a poisoned arrow shot directly through my heart, leaving me in a state of absolute, paralyzed shock. Jean.

The name echoed in my mind like a curse. She had completely destroyed me, leaving behind nothing but the hollow shell of the monster I had fought so hard to escape.

---------------+-----+--------------

Jane's POV

The drive back to the mansion felt like a beautiful, golden dream. Yuri's hand remained locked securely with mine the entire way, the custom vine-shaped diamond ring on my left hand reflecting the passing streetlights like a tiny star.

The corporate victory at the JJM headquarters had left me exhausted, but the simple, overwhelming joy of finally being officially engaged to the man I loved washed away every single trace of stress.

The moment we pushed the grand front doors of the mansion open and stepped inside the massive foyer, we realized that almost the entire family was gathered in the main living room. The lights were bright, and the usual chaotic noise of Section E was humming through the air.

The boys of Section E instantly snapped their heads toward the entrance as we walked in. Yuri didn't waste a single second. A massive, proud grin broke across his handsome face, and he immediately raised my left hand into the bright light, showing off the glistening diamond ring to the entire room.

An absolute explosion of loud hooting, whistling, and cheering instantly erupted from the couch area. Felix jumped over the back of the sofa, yelling at the top of his lungs, while Cin and Blaster started high-fiving each other like their favorite sports team had just won a championship. Edrix and Rory let out loud whistles, the entire group turning the living room into a complete zone of celebration.

Amidst the loud chaos, Angelo and Aries stood near the grand staircase, their faces shifting into expressions of complete, unadulterated confusion. They looked at my hand, then at Yuri, entirely lost.

Yuri looked back at them with a massive, triumphant grin, his voice booming over the noise. "Jane forgave me, guys! We are officially engaged!"

"What?!" my brothers, Percy, Angelo and Aries, shouted in unison, their jaws dropping in absolute shock as they stepped forward.

Aries looked like his brain had completely short-circuited, while Percy's eyes narrowed playfully before a rare, genuine smile finally broke through his serious expression. Yuri just grinned wider, absorbing their shock with absolute delight.

Right as the hooting reached its peak, the front door opened again, and Jay walked into the house.

The moment she stepped into the light, she looked directly at my tear-stained, incredibly happy face, and then her eyes drifted down to the ring on my finger. A beautiful, genuinely soft smile broke through her pale features, completely warming up her look.

She walked straight past the cheering boys, stepping up to wrap her arms gently around my waist.

"I just want you to be completely happy, Ate," Jay whispered softly against my shoulder, her voice filled with a deep, sisterly love that made my heart swell.

She pulled back slowly, her gaze shifting over to lock onto Yuri. The soft sister vanished in an instant, replaced by the fierce, protective princess of the family.

She pointed a finger right at Yuri's chest, her eyes narrowing into a sharp glare. "Finally got successful, rooster. You better take absolute, perfect care of her from this moment on. Otherwise... you will see a living hell on earth. I guarantee that personally."

Yuri let out a soft chuckle, raising his hands in surrender, but his eyes were filled with respect. "I wouldn't dare cross her, Jay. Don't worry."

Cin stepped into the center of the room, throwing his arm around Felix's shoulder with a massive, dramatic sigh. "Ah, look at that! Now that finally Jane and Yuri are together after all this time, the balance of the universe is restored! Now... it's officially time for Jay and Keifer to patch up next!"

The moment the words left Cin's mouth, a freezing, suffocating silence instantly dropped over the entire living room, completely cutting off the cheering.

I turned my head toward the stairs, noticing Keifer stepping into the light of the upper hallway. He had just come down from the rooftop. My breath caught in my throat. He looked absolutely devastated. His face was pale, his clothes were slightly disheveled from the wind, and most of all, his eyes were wide, hollow, and filled with a raw, bleeding look of pure, unadulterated hurt that he couldn't even hide.

Jay didn't even turn around to look at him.

Her entire posture went dead cold, her voice dropping into an icy, unyielding register that echoed sharply against the marble walls.

"There is absolutely nothing going to happen between us," Jay said coldly, her words slicing through the room like a blade. "Not today, not tomorrow, and not even in the furthest future. He does not deserve it."

Keifer looked as though he had been physically struck by a bullet. A sharp tremor ran through his jaw, the raw hurt in his eyes doubling in intensity. But then, before anyone could speak, a terrifyingly cold mask slid over his features.

He forced his head up, staring right back at her with a forced, mocking sneer that looked entirely fake, but carried a brutal weight.

"Yeah," Keifer shot back, his voice dropping into a loud, forced register as he marched down the last few steps, refusing to let anyone see his breakdown. "I also don't want to waste my precious time running around her anymore. Guys, Tomorrow morning, I am leaving for London ."

Without waiting for a single response from Section E, Keifer turned on his heel and marched straight out of the living room, the heavy front doors slamming shut behind him with a deafening crash.

Jay didn't even blink at the sound. She turned around slowly, her face an emotionless sheet of ice as she looked directly at Jaxon , Aries, Percy ,Kianand Angelo. "Kuya... I have to leave for New York tomorrow morning to handle some urgent business work at the corporate offices."

All the Kuyas stared at her for a long, heavy second, their expressions filled with a deep, silent concern, but they slowly nodded their heads in agreement.

"Okay, princess. Take care," Kian murmured softly.

"Call me if anythings feel wrong , Princess", Jaxx added .

" Don't overwork yourself ", Aries said hugging her slightly.

" Come back , when you are tired ", Angleo said padding her hair.

" Don't forget to miss my handsome face , BAby Sistah. And take care of yourself ", Percy said smiling softly.

Jay gave a single nod, turned away from the engagement celebration, and left upstairs, her footsteps sounding heavy and distant until her bedroom door clicked shut.

The entire living room was plunged into a state of absolute, stunned silence. The joy of the engagement had completely evaporated, leaving behind a cold, confusing dread.

I looked at Yuri, my hand trembling inside his grip as a heavy knot of worry tightened in my chest.

God... what on earth just happened between them? I thought desperately, staring up at the empty staircase. Why does Jay feel so completely distinct and cold now... and why does Keifer look so utterly, deeply hurt? The shadow of the bunker hadn't just changed her—it had broken something between them that might never be fixed again.
