Chapter 209 - Milan

A day later…

The RV crusied on the highway, overtaking another car in its path. Resting, Dante scrolled through his feed mindlessly. Beside him, Missio held his phone horizontally, playing a game. Right then, the supreme commander received a call… from his fiancé. He answered and pressed the phone to his ear.

"Yes, dear?" He said.

"Hey~" Isabella spoke. "How have you been doing?"

"Never been better. What about you?"

"I've been fine too."

Dante nodded silently, suspecting something. An awkward silence stretched between them for the longest time until, Isabella finally broke it.

"So… when are you coming back?"

Dante let out a slight chuckled.

"Hm… should I? I'm having a lotta fun over here–"

His voice was cut off by Isabella.

"No – No, You promised me you'd come back by September. You're keeping that promise."

Dante sighed with a smile.

"Don't worry. I'll return by... mid-September? yeah, mid-September."

"Thank you." Isabella's voice exuded happiness. "Anyways, what are you wearing for our wedding?"

Dante raised a brow. "Huh… haven't thought of it…"

"Dante… you had seven months and you couldn't figure out your wedding dress?" Isabella lamented.

"I'll figure something out." Dante waved his hand. "I've got an idea."

"Really? What is it?" Isabella perked up.

"A secret." Dante hushed. "You'll know when the times comes."

"C'mon. Just tell me, Please?"

"A secret is a secret. i don't know what else to tell you." Dante said.

Isabella exhaled heavily. "Okay... but don't wear any of your old clothes. You're going to Milan! Please buy something new for the love of God. It's our wedding, you have to look as handsome as possible."

"Aren't you afraid the others ladies may get attracted to me?" Dante blurted.

"What?! No!" Isabella exclaimed.

Dante tittered. "Just Kidding! You're my only love, dear."

Isabella paused, then blurted in a flushed tone. "Y-Yeah, you too, babe."

Dante chuckled slightly and replied,

"Alright, then, see you soon!"

Dante cut the call. Staring at his phone, he let off a heavy breath. Beside him, Missio's smirk grew wider as he leaned back.

"Flirting, eh? That's new from you."

"Not the best at it." Dante put his phone down. "But I don't really care. It's not my cup of tea anyways."

"I know guy."

The siblings locked eyes and then…. Burst into uncontrollable laughter. Grasping their chest, the air in their lungs vanished in an instant.

"Krishna's charisma is beyond me." Dante wiped a tear.

"Yeah, no. Forget it." Missio smiled.

Calming down, the two eventually gasped for air. Missio itched his neck while glancing at his big brother.

"You can't go to your own wedding with the old clothes you're wearing. Luckily, we're heading to Rome's best clothes district."

"Come on, these are only a few months old…" Dante pinched the fabric.

"Ha…" Missio heaved a sigh. "Did you really learn nothing from dad?"

"You know I'm a bit frugal. I just can't help it!"

"Now, what the hell does frugal mean?"

Dante sighed, lowering his head. Pinching his nose, he shook his head in a disappointed manner.

"What type of English did I teach you…?"

"Not the right kind, it seems." Missio crossed his arms.

"Frugal means someone who is mindful of value and prioritizes saving, but still spends on essentials and personal well-being." The king explained

Missio raised a brow and tilted his head in a surprised manner.

"That's a perfect description of you. Y'know instead of deus, I think you should take frugal as a middle name."

"You know 'deus' is a title. I can't be Dante deus frugal Augustus."

Missio leaned in closer.

"Can't you….?"

"I am not changing my middle name. I swear to God."

Missio laughed, slumping into his seat.

"Worth a try." He shrugged. "What kinda suit do ya want?"

"I'll show you." Dante grabbed his phone.

He tapped the gallery icon and scrolled for a few seconds. Turning the screen to Missio, a smirk appeared on his face. Missio leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. He raised his brows – clapping.

"Going classy, I see. Good choice – good choice."

"What do you think Isabella will think?"

"Either she will die from a nosebleed or she'll become a yandere."

Bursting into laughter, the supreme commander slammed his hand onto the steering wheel. Missio couldn't contain himself as well, covering his mouth while the corners of his lips twisted.

"That HAS to be the best joke I've ever heard from you."

"Be ready for more. I've got a list to tell at the wedding." Missio snapped his fingers, pointing at his elder brother.

Following many hours of grueling travel, the duo finally arrived in the most marvelous city in all of Rome – Milan. They passed under a massive archway, officially entering Milan. Missio gazed out of the window. Buildings brought to life by their ancestors stood as small wonders spread across the and. Lights painted the city in a sea of Golden light. Dante took control of the vehicle, cruising outside of the central city.

A few minutes later, he checked into a designated RV parking spot. Reversing the vehicle into their lot, he firmly held the handbrake. After parking, he brought it up. Heaving a breath, he locked eyes with his little brother.

"Dinner?" Missio blurted.

"Dinner." Dante sighed.
