Chapter 34 - When You Forgot Me , I Fell Again

Chapter 34: The Truth Begins to Surface

Morning sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, but Lina felt no warmth.

She sat quietly at the dining table, her coffee untouched.

Her mind replayed everything again.

Emily.

The accident.

The black car.

And the truth that was slowly revealing itself.

Across from her, Adrian watched silently.

He noticed how tense she looked.

"You didn't eat anything."

Lina blinked slightly.

"I'm not hungry."

Adrian frowned.

"You need strength."

She forced a faint smile.

"I'm fine."

But she wasn't.

Not at all.

Her heart felt restless.

Because for the first time—

She felt like her life before the accident wasn't just complicated…

It was dangerous.

Sophia entered the room.

She glanced at both of them.

"You two look like you didn't sleep."

Adrian didn't respond.

Lina nodded slightly.

Sophia poured herself coffee.

"So… what's the plan?"

Adrian leaned back slightly.

"We investigate."

Sophia smirked.

"I like that."

Lina looked at Adrian.

"Where do we start?"

Adrian thought quietly.

"Your accident site."

Lina froze slightly.

"You want to go there?"

He nodded.

"Your memories might return."

She hesitated.

Fear crept into her heart.

But she also wanted answers.

"Okay."

An hour later—

They drove toward the accident site.

The road looked quiet.

Almost normal.

But Lina's heart started beating faster.

Her fingers tightened slightly.

Adrian noticed.

"You okay?"

She nodded slowly.

"I think…"

Her voice trembled slightly.

"I've seen this road before."

They stopped near the roadside.

Lina stepped out slowly.

The wind brushed her hair.

Her heart pounded louder.

Then—

A sudden flash.

Rain pouring heavily.

Her hands gripping the wheel.

The black car behind her.

Her breathing quickened.

"Lina?"

Adrian moved closer.

She whispered softly.

"I remember…"

"What?"

"The black car… it was here…"

Her voice shook.

She stepped forward slowly.

Then suddenly—

Her eyes widened.

"I stopped here…"

She pointed slightly ahead.

Adrian looked serious.

"What happened next?"

Her breathing became uneven.

"I got a call…"

Her head hurt again.

She grabbed her temple.

Adrian held her gently.

"Lina…"

She gasped softly.

"I heard her voice…"

"Emily?"

She nodded slowly.

"She told me to leave…"

Adrian's expression darkened.

"And then?"

She looked terrified.

"The black car… it came closer…"

Her breathing quickened.

"I tried to drive away…"

Her eyes widened suddenly.

"And then…"

She froze.

"What?"

She whispered softly.

"The car hit me…"

Silence filled the air.

Adrian clenched his jaw.

"So… it wasn't an accident."

Lina's hands trembled slightly.

"I think… someone tried to kill me."

Meanwhile…

Not far away—

A black car parked quietly.

Inside—

Emily watched them.

Her lips curved slightly.

"So… you came back."

She whispered softly.

Her eyes turned cold.

"You're remembering faster than I expected."

Her phone buzzed.

She answered.

"They're at the site."

A male voice replied.

"What should we do?"

Emily smiled faintly.

"Nothing… yet."

Her gaze darkened.

"Let them remember."

Because she knew—

The more Lina remembered…

The more pain she'd feel.

Back at the accident site—

Lina suddenly felt dizzy.

Adrian quickly held her.

"We should go back."

She nodded weakly.

"Okay…"

They got into the car.

But Lina's mind kept replaying the memory.

The black car.

The impact.

Emily's voice.

Everything felt too real.

On the way home—

Adrian's phone rang.

Daniel.

He answered.

"Yes?"

Daniel sounded urgent.

"I found something important."

"What?"

Daniel spoke quickly.

"I checked Emily's old phone records."

Adrian frowned.

"And?"

"She contacted someone before your accident."

Adrian's expression hardened.

"Who?"

Daniel answered quietly.

"A driver."

Lina's heart dropped.

"What?"

Daniel continued.

"I found his name."

Adrian tightened his grip.

"Tell me."

Daniel spoke slowly.

"Marcus Hale."

Adrian froze.

That name…

Sounded familiar.

Very familiar.

Then suddenly—

He remembered.

Marcus.

A former employee.

Fired for reckless driving.

Adrian's expression darkened.

"I know him."

Daniel asked quietly.

"You do?"

Adrian nodded.

"He worked for my company… then got fired."

Lina felt uneasy.

"So… Emily hired him…"

No one needed to finish the sentence.

Because the truth was clear.

Someone planned the accident.

Meanwhile—

Sophia sat at home.

Her phone buzzed.

She looked at the message.

Her expression changed.

"Marcus Hale…"

She whispered softly.

Her lips curved slowly.

Because she knew him too.

And she knew something…

No one else did.

That evening—

Lina sat quietly in her room.

Her mind heavy.

Her past slowly returning.

But instead of comfort—

She only felt fear.

Suddenly—

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

Her heart skipped.

She hesitated.

Then answered.

"Hello…?"

A familiar voice replied.

"Lina."

Her eyes widened.

Emily.

Her breathing quickened.

"What do you want?"

Emily chuckled softly.

"You're remembering… aren't you?"

Lina remained silent.

Emily continued calmly.

"You shouldn't dig deeper."

Lina clenched her phone.

"Did you try to kill me?"

Silence.

Then Emily laughed softly.

"You're smarter than I thought."

Lina's heart pounded.

"Why?"

Emily's voice turned cold.

"Because you ruined everything."

The call ended.

Lina's hands trembled.

Her breathing uneven.

Adrian entered the room.

"What happened?"

She looked at him.

Her voice trembled.

"She admitted it…"

Adrian's eyes darkened dangerously.

Because now—

This wasn't just suspicion anymore.

This was war.
